Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Both the gay and androphile subcultures present strong dogmatic prescriptions of what it means to be a man who is sexually attracted to other men. Rejecting the rigid views of both the Gay (LGBTQIA+) Community and the Androphilia Movement, "Androphile Pride" presents another perspective for men seeking to figure out who they are in the light of their sexual orientation and the pressures of conformity from LGBTQIA+ leaders who diagnose you with internalized homophobia if you question any part of their social/political agenda. Furthermore, rejecting the propaganda put forth by these self-appointed LGBTQIA+ prophets does not mean that men who are sexually attracted to other men have to follow in blind lockstep with those views proposed by the originators of the Androphilia Movement. After boldly examining the agendas of both the LGBTQIA+and Androphilia Movements, Graham proposes what he calls, the true androphile alternative. The true androphile is not bound by the propaganda you are being fed by these groups. "Androphile Pride" provides an alternative world view, then guides the reader through a process of creation and integration. Actively engage with the content and you will build a strong sense of self that does not hinge on following every single view espoused by supposed LGBTQIA+ leaders, the supposed Androphilia leaders, nor anyone else. A strong man doesn't accept what others tell him to believe. He finds his own path, guided by his own values.

  • Pages : 252 pages

Book excerpt: Finally back in print. 3rd Edition Reprint of the rare, controversial 2007 release includes new Introduction, additional essays. "Gay is a subculture, a slur, a set of gestures, a slang, a look, a posture, a parade, a rainbow flag, a film genre, a taste in music, a hairstyle, a marketing demographic, a bumper sticker, a political agenda and philosophical viewpoint. Gay is a pre-packaged, superficial persona--a lifestyle. It's a sexual identity that has almost nothing to do with sexuality. Androphilia is a rejection of the overloaded gay identity and a return to a discussion of homosexuality in terms of desire. Homosexual men have been paradoxically cast as the enemies of masculinity--slaves to the feminist pipe dream of a "gender-neutral" (read: anti-male, pro-female) world. Androphilia is a manifesto full of truly dangerous ideas: that men can have sex with men and retain their manhood, that homosexuality can be about championing a masculine ideal rather than attacking it, and that the "oppressive construct of masculinity," despised by the gay community could actually enrich and improve the lives of homosexual and bisexual men. Androphilia is for those men who never really bought what the gay community was selling. It is a challenge to leave the gay world completely behind and to rejoin the world of men, unapologetically, as androphliles, but more importantly, as men."

Book The Soul Beneath the Skin

Download or read book The Soul Beneath the Skin written by David Nimmons and published by Macmillan. This book was released on 2003-11 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Among the most acclaimed books on the gay male experience, The Soul Beneath the Skin explores the wide variety of social and ethical experiments in gay men's lives, and their implications both for gay men and society at large. David Nimmons radically reinterprets gay men's sexuality, intimate relationships and ethics by looking at seven patterns of behavior widely practiced by gay men but rarely acknowledged: non-violent public culture; high rates of altruism, service, and volunteerism; robust sexual caretaking; friendship patterns of diffuse intimacies; friendship with women; diverse forms of sexual union; and unique forms of bliss and pleasure seeking. These social innovations, striking similar to the teachings of the great spiritual traditions, suggest a new and profound public ethics, a stirringly optimistic vision of a social revolution as radical as it is unnoticed.

Book The Essence of Being Gay

    Book Details:
  • Author : Michael Hone
  • Publisher : Createspace Independent Publishing Platform
  • Release : 2015-07-30
  • ISBN : 9781515262527
  • Pages : 294 pages

Download or read book The Essence of Being Gay written by Michael Hone and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2015-07-30 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What I propose in this book is a free-flow of information, founded on the love of boys and men, from the most heroic to the most erotic, btons rompus, as the French say. The Essence of Being Gay covers everything from infibulations--Greek boys who tied their foreskins shut--to studies into the causes of homosexuality, even if the foremost psychiatrist, Freud, stated that it was the enigma of his life of research. It encompasses homosexuality in artists and kings, writers and rent-boys. It touches of virility throughout the ages, mutual pleasuring, penis size [and how to lengthen the beast, to really lengthen it] and menswear--from codpieces to jockstraps. It extends from the hallowed Greeks [Marathon, Thermopylae, the Sacred Band] to pre-W.W. II Berlin [the never-equaled prostitution capital of the world], to today's BelAmi, the apogee in boy eroticism. Included are scenes from the first frankly homosexual pornographic book, Alcibiades the Schoolboy in 1630, to today's erotica. It's been a bumpy road from the purity of Achilles and Patroclus, Alexander and Hephaestion, to the painted faces of Rome where a naked emperor, Elagabalus, stalked well-endowed sailors and castrated catamites by the thousands. But infinitely more numerous than Middle-Ages burnings at the stake and death in Nazi pink-triangle camps, are the countless untold stories of simple encounters, of first kisses and sighs, first vows and first bliss, of candle-lit meals between lovers, reflected in the eyes of he who literally takes your breath away. And the greatest happiness of all, returning home to a warm boy in an open bed, a lad awaiting your arrival, anonymous to the world, but the entire world to you. This, too, Greeks and Romans, Florentines and Stonewall New Yorkers, certainly knew--for this is eternal.Although the book counts nearly 300 pages and has taken years of research, I've priced it at the lowest cost permitted by the editors, with the unique aim of placing it in the hands of the greatest number of boys and men.
