Book Tricky People How to Deal With Horrible Types Before They Ruin Your Life

This book was released on 2013-07-01 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: TRICKY PEOPLE profiles the whole range of 'difficult' types we've all encountered at times in social or business situations: back-stabbers, white-anters, blamers, whingers, bullies, tyrants, controllers, charmers, know-it-alls, perfectionists, competitors and the seriously self-obsessed. It offers imaginative yet practical ways to deal with these dangerous and frustrating creatures and identify the slippery techniques they employ to get their way. Buried cleverly within all the humour is an in-depth look at how difficult people manage us for their own ends - and how to overturn that. It helps us understand relationship patterns, office politics, our own shortcomings in our dealings with others, and what a difficult person might be able to teach us.

Andrew Fuller considers life in 7-year slices and presents ideas about what is needed at each stage to have great outcomes. Andrew Fuller writes : I have been developing my ideas for many years for a book on how to live a resilient life. In that time, I have spoken to thousands of people about their views on what is required at each stage of growth - what are the challenges, how we might get through them. I’ve asked them the question: "What does it take at each stage to live a good life?".

Book excerpt: Helping parents and teachers recognise the needs of children who are the manipulators, the negotiators, the debaters, the competitors, the dare devils and the passive resisters of this world. What would it be like to have to parent Bart Simpson or Angelica Pickles? Every day, many parents and teachers struggle with challenging (and lovable) children who have wilful personalities. these are often kids who are stubborn, defiant, determined, free-spirited or just plain difficult. Yet while they may be hard work, they are often the movers and shakers of the future. Many of history's great achievers, political leaders and national figures were forceful children. How can parents and teachers learn to manage these kids, and help them to change and develop the positive life habits - including an awareness of others, dealing with anger, staying focused and forming true friendships - that they sorely need? In this book he helps parents and teachers recognise the needs of children who are the manipulators, the negotiators, the debaters, the competitors, the dare devils and the passive resisters of this world. He shows how parents can create change in the family and how teachers can create change in the classroom (so that these children do not dominate). Parents may have to live with their one headstrong child, but teachers often face dozens of them every day! So, to assist them, Andrew Fuller has also included a special supplement focusing on their particular needs.

Book Unlocking Your Child s Genius

Download or read book Unlocking Your Child s Genius written by Andrew Fuller and published by Random House. This book was released on 2016-05-05 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We all want our child to be the best they can be, but how can we discover and encourage their natural talents? Clinical psychologist Andrew Fuller believes that every child has an innate sense of inquisitiveness, creativity and lateral thinking that forms the basis of genius. However, social conditioning and school life can lead to a desire to conform and fit in which can squash their curiosity. For parents and grandparents, Andrew Fuller’s new book holds the way to unlock their child’s genius. No the answer is not homework, more after school tutoring or blaming the school. Yes the answer is thinking, talking and listening, and delightfully making mistakes together. Covering the age range of 2 to 18, Andrew draws on the latest research and his own extensive work with thousands of children in private practice. He shows parents how to recognise the qualities in their child that predict genius – creativity, motivation, determination, imagination and the willingness – and build on these essential foundations regardless of which field their talents lie in.

Book Fullerism as Opposed to Calvinism

Download or read book Fullerism as Opposed to Calvinism written by A. Chadwick Mauldin and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2010-12-22 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Calvinism and its impact upon Baptist and other free-church traditions is an issue of perennial importance. Indeed, much ink has been employed throughout the years for the purpose of considering just this topic. Obviously Calvinism is a complete doctrinal system, and it bears upon many other areas of theological concern beyond the doctrine of salvation. While many Baptists have had a long and historic association with Calvinistic soteriology, Calvinism's approach to ecclesiology and missiology should leave most self conscious Baptists dissatisfied at best. This book provides a missiological comparison of Fullerism and Calvinism. Andrew Fuller or Fullerism (while admittedly a form of Calvinism) is shown in this book to be an exciting and vibrant alternative to historic Reformed theology-particularly for Baptists and other free-church traditions. Fuller made a tremendous theological contribution in his day; through his writings he established the doctrinal rationale for indiscriminate gospel proclamation (a concept that was heavily under attack in eighteenth-century Baptist life). Consequently, this book hopes to encourage its readers to contemplate the lack of precision in the term "Calvinism" when used as a Baptistic nomenclature and to promote "Fullerism" (with its acute missiological emphasis) as a more helpful theological descriptor for the Baptist.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Socinianism was at the height of its power, Andrew Fuller challenged it in its self-professed point of greatest strength --the virtue encouraged by its principles of theistic rationality. Do the extended implications of its principles compare favorably with Calvinism in the development of virtue? Using their own writings and the admissions they make concerning piety and virtue among Socinians, Fuller compared both systems in their tendency to convert profligates to a life of holiness, to convert professed unbelievers, their development of a standard of morality, to encourage love to God, candor and benevolence toward men, encourage humility and charity, promote love for Christ and veneration of Scripture, develop happiness, cheerfulness, gratitude, obedience, and heavenly-mindedness in the followers of the respective systems. If challenged that he is being judgmental and has focused on subjective criteria, Fuller replied that he is merely engaging the Socinians at the place where they have invited investigation. Fuller intended to lay bare the emptiness of the Socinian boast to virtue. The work first was published in 1793.
