He married Dorothea in Philadephia ca. 1741. She died 1744. He married (2) Veronica Mayer ca. 1745. Includes the Clanton family originally of Virginia. Family of Edward Clanton, son of Edward and Sarah Clanton, whose descendants came to Surry County, N.C. in the latter part of the 1700's.
