Book Analysis of Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice s Production Model Under Stochastic Demand

Download or read book Analysis of Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice s Production Model Under Stochastic Demand written by Albert Aguadé Borrull and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This project will study the model of Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice (FCOJ) by [10] from a stochastic point of view. A review of the literature around stochastic processes, stochastic linear problems and two-stage stochastic linear problems is done. EVPI and VSS as most important numerical tools to evaluate stochastic linear systems are studied. The problem of FCOJ is explained, before being modi ed to allow stochastic demand. Several cases with di erent data are solved and their results are discussed, turning out that FCOJ problem behaves fairly well under stochastic demand.

This book was released on 2018-03-19 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Evaluation of a Special Promotional Campaign for Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice Excess inventories resulted from a combination of factors. The produc tion of oranges in Florida for the 1961-62 season exceeded 113 million boxes, an increase of approximately 29 percent over the previous 3-year average (table The percentage of the Florida orange crop utilized in production of frozen concentrated orange juice increased from percent (average of previous 3 years) to percent. In addition, the yield of concentrated juice per box of fruit increased from.1.51 to gallons-approximately 5 percent. All of these factors acting together resulted in an increase of h3.7 percent in production of frozen concentrated orange juice-from.a 3-year average of about 81.million gallons to 116 million gallons. Download or read book Brazilian Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice written by Carlos Alberto Primo Braga and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 1991 with total page 51 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main effect of antidumping actions brought against Brazilian producers of frozen concentrated orange juice has been to strengthen the oligopoly-oligopsony relationship between Brazilian producers and their U.S. partners. This limits the prospects for competition in the world market for frozen concentrated orange juice.

Book Demand for Brazilian frozen concentrated orange juice exports

Download or read book Demand for Brazilian frozen concentrated orange juice exports written by V. A. Moretti and published by . This book was released on 1978 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Brazilian exports of frozen concemtrated orange juice (FCOJ) have been increasing in the last few years. However, the Brazilian export price for FCOJ has been very unstable during the same time period, and in several competing countries, FCOJ production has been increasing rapidly. For Brazil the international market for FCOJ is very important since almost all production is exported. Therefore, existing pricing policies and marketing strategies need to be anlyzed. This study focuses on frozen concentrated orange juice since it is the most important Brazilian citrus product exported. The importing countries included in the study are West Germany, Belgium-Luxemburg, Canada, Denmark, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, France, Finland and Japan. The objectives are to (a) describe the institutions, laws, and regulations that affect world trade in FCOJ and (b) estimate the demand relationship for Brazilian FCOJ exports. The institutional description was organized around the following topics: taxes and tariffs, Brazilian government support programs, processing structure in Brazil, U.S. duty drawback provisions, and the U.S. advertising program for citrus products on the European market. The Brazilian export demand model was estimated using 11 years of cross-sectional data for thirteen non-producing FCOJ importing countries in a pooled regression analysis. A model with Brazilian quantity of FCOJ exported as the dependent variable was estimated. Demand for Brazilian product was found to be price elastic. The magnitude of the elasticity (1.59) suggests that for each one percent decrease in price, the quantity demanded is expected to increase 1.59 percent, holding all other variables constant. This means that if Brazilian price decreases, total revenue for the whole industry wil increase. Quantity demanded was highly responsive to population and exchange rate.

Download or read book Transportation of Florida Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate written by Margaret Ruth Purcell and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-08-21 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Transportation of Florida Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate: A Case Study of Carrier Competition Induced by Dynamic Industry Growth Although not generally available in the early years, almost 80 percent of Florida's frozen orange juice concentrate output is now packed in 6-ounce consumer-size cans, 48 to a case. The second most important size from the standpoint of the trade is the 32-ounce institutional-size, packed 12 cans to a case. This is the size purchased principally by hotels, restaurants, and others who buy in quantity. About 7 percent of the 1952-53 season sales 'was in the institutional-size container. It was expected that 10 million gallons would be packed in containers of this Size in the 1953-54 season. The third most important size is the 12-ounce consumer-size can, packed 24 cans to a case. Although less than 6 percent of the 1952-53 season's output 'was marketed in containers of this size, consumer acceptance of this package has been so encouraging that several processors were planning a substantial increase for the 1953-54 season. Concentrate packed in 5-gallon containers in 1952-53 accounted for about 1 percent of the total pack. In addition to the sizes mentioned, a 4-ounce consumer-size can, a 46-ounce can, and a No. 2%-size can were tried out experimentally by several processors, but have been largely discontinued.
