Book Analysis of Thin wire Antennas in the Presence of a Dielectric and or Ferrite Inhomogeneity

Download or read book Analysis of Thin wire Antennas in the Presence of a Dielectric and or Ferrite Inhomogeneity written by Pravit Tulyathan and published by . This book was released on 1976 with total page 38 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A moment method solution for treating thin-wire antennas in the presence of an arbitrary dielectric and/or ferrite inhomogeneity is presented. The wire is modeled by an equivalent surface current density and the dielectric/ferrite inhomogeneity is modeled by equivalent volume polarization currents. The conduction currents on the wire and the polarization currents in the dielectric/ferrite inhomogeneity are treated as independent unknowns and determined in the moment method solution. The method is applied to the problem of a loop antenna loaded with dielectric or ferrite. Numerical results are presented, and are in good agreement with measurements and previous calculations. The material contained in this report is also used as a Thesis submitted to the Department of Electrical Engineering, The Ohio State University as partial fulfillment for the degree Master of Science. Book Radio Frequency Radiation Dosimetry and Its Relationship to the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields

Download or read book Radio Frequency Radiation Dosimetry and Its Relationship to the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields written by B. Jon Klauenberg and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 577 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has sponsored research supporting development of personnel safety standards for exposure to Radio Frequency Radiation (RFR) for over a quarter century. NATO previously recognized that one of the most important tools used in the RFR effects research laboratory is accurate dosimetry when it supported a NATO Advanced Studies Institute (ASI) on Advances in Biological Effects and Dosimetry of Low Energy Electromagnetic Fields held in 1981, in Erice, Sicily. That meeting resulted in a NATO ASI publication; Biological Effects and Dosimetry of l Non-ionizing Radiation: Radiofrequency and Microwave Energies . The most recent NATO sponsored program on RFR was an Advanced Research Workshop (ARW) on "Developing a New Standardization Agreement (STANAG) for Radio frequency Radiation" held May 1993, at the Pratica di Mare Italian Air Force Base, Pomezia (Rome) Italy. That ARW produced an ASI proceedings, published in 1995: Radio frequency Radiation Standards, Biological Effects, Dosimetry, Epidemiology, and Public Health Policy2. The Rome ARW and the Proceedings served as a springboard to the much needed revision of the NATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG) 2345 MED "Evaluation and Control of Personnel Exposure to Radio Frequency Fields - 3 kHz to 300 GHz,,3, which was subsequently promulgated in October 1998. One of the published recommendations developed by the Rome ARW was to hold this second ARW focusing on dosimetry and measurements.

Book Analysis of Arbitrarily Shaped Wire Antennas Radiating Over a Lossy Half space

Download or read book Analysis of Arbitrarily Shaped Wire Antennas Radiating Over a Lossy Half space written by Parviz Parhami and published by . This book was released on 1979 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The problem of an arbitrarily oriented current element over a lossy half-space is analyzed in this work. Various numerical approaches are developed and discussed for evaluating the infinite Sommerfeld integrals appearing in the vector potential expressions. In particular, a technique based on the steepest descent path integration is introduced for exact evaluation of these integrals, and, as an efficient alternative, an additional technique is developed based on approximating the well-behaved Fourier transform expressions of the Sommerfeld integrals. The latter technique has the merit of not requiring any time-consuming infinite integrations and, at the same time, is shown to yield accurate results for a wide range of parameters of practical interest. Finally, in this paper, the thin-wire antenna problem over a lossy half-space is analyzed via the method of moments and the current element solution techniques discussed earlier. Several antenna examples are included to demonstrate the effect of the lossy half-space on their input impedance and the far-field radiation patterns. (Author).

Book Characteristic Modes

Download or read book Characteristic Modes written by Yikai Chen and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2015-06-15 with total page 291 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Describes how to systematically implement various characteristic mode (CM) theories into designs of practical antenna systems This book examines both theoretical developments of characteristic modes (CMs) and practical developments of CM-based methodologies for a variety of critical antenna designs. The book is divided into six chapters. Chapter 1 provides an introduction and discusses the recent advances of the CM theory and its applications in antenna engineering. Chapter 2 describes the formulation of the characteristic mode theory for perfectly electrically conducting (PEC) bodies and discusses its numerical implementations. Chapter 3 presents the CM theory for PEC structures embedded in multilayered medium and its applications. Chapter 4 covers recent advances in CM theory for dielectric bodies and also their applications. Chapter 5 discusses the CM theory for N-port networks and its applications to the design of antenna arrays. Finally, Chapter 6 discusses the design of platform-integrated antenna systems using characteristic modes. This book features the following: Introduces characteristic mode theories for various electromagnetic structures including PEC bodies, structures in multilayered medium, dielectric bodies, and N-port networks Examines CM applications in electrically small antennas, microstrip patch antennas, dielectric resonator antennas, multiport antennas, antenna arrays, and platform mounted antenna systems Discusses numerical algorithms for the implementation of the characteristic mode theories in computer code Characteristic Modes: Theory and Applications in Antenna Engineering will help antenna researchers, engineers, and students find new solutions for their antenna design challenges.
