Book Computer Aided Design and Simulation Procedures of Electro hydraulic Servo Mechanisms

Download or read book Computer Aided Design and Simulation Procedures of Electro hydraulic Servo Mechanisms written by Qunhua Zhu and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hydraulic servo mechanisms combine hydraulic power and feedback techniques to achieve rapid, accurate regulation. In recent years with the development of electronic technology, electro-hydraulic servo control systems have found more usage in industry and military systems of all types. This thesis deals with the mathematical modelling and computer simulation of an electro-hydraulic servovalve controlled motor for both speed and position schemes. As a preliminary investigation, these systems are simplified to achieve insight into the physical problem. In the speed control scheme, linear equations are employed to describe the system. However in the position control scheme, the equations describing the system are nonlinear. Control theory is used to analyse the system and thereafter simulation programs for both speed control and position control are designed to investigate dynamic behaviour and simulated results of each system are shown graphically. Some improved control concepsions are also given in this thesis. In speed control scheme, a slope command signal is utilised instead of a sudden change of command signal, and this improvement achieves the reduction of the system overshoot and oscillation. In position control, which is a variable torque system, so called 'equigain' and 'varigain' control schemes are established to improve the accuracy of trajectory control. Finally recommendations for further work are presented with references for initiating these enquires.

Book DESIGN SYNTHESIS AND CONTROL OF A MECHANICAL SERVO PRESS AN INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION

Download or read book DESIGN SYNTHESIS AND CONTROL OF A MECHANICAL SERVO PRESS AN INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION written by and published by Dr. R. HALICIOGLU. This book was released on with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract Due to precision, flexibility, simplicity in construction, easy control, higher speed and lower energy consumptions, servo presses have recently become popular in metal forming applications. Servo press technology combines the advantages of hydraulic and conventional mechanical presses without their drawbacks. This study presents design, construction and demonstration of a servo crank press system for metal forming operations. The research involves kinematics and motion optimization, dynamic modeling, structural design and analysis, servo motor selection, automation and control, and operational performances of the servo press. The press used in this work has a load capacity of 50 ton and stroke capacity of 200 mm. Firstly, optimized trajectories of ram scenarios are generated. Then dynamic modeling using Lagrange approach is presented. Next structural model is constructed, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of press parts are performed within safety limits. A servo motor with a reduction unit is selected based on dynamic model. After that a new automation system is developed, and Cascade Feed-Forward (CasFF) control is applied. Moreover, four motion scenarios (crank, dwell, link, and soft motion) are employed for the performance assessment of press. Finally, the dynamic model is verified by the experimental results. The research study is carried out under support and grant of an industrial project, aiming to provide know-how to industry and researchers. Key Words: Servo crank press, metal forming, motion design, dynamic modeling, system control

Book Electro Hydraulic Actuation Systems

Download or read book Electro Hydraulic Actuation Systems written by J. Jaidev Vyas and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-09-01 with total page 63 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book serves as a unique integrated platform, which not only describes the design methodology of electro-hydraulic actuation systems but also provides insights into the design of the servo valve, which is the most important component in the system. It presents a step-by-step design process, comparative tables, illustrative figures, and detailed explanations. The book focuses on the design and testing of electro-hydraulic actuation systems, which are increasingly being used in motion control applications, particularly in those where precision actuation at high operational rates is of prime importance. It describes in detail the design philosophy of such high-performance systems, presenting a system used as a physical test setup together with experimental results to corroborate the calculations. Of particular interest are the electro-hydraulic servo valves that form the heart of these actuations. These valves are complex and not much data is available in open literature due to OEM propriety issues. In this context, the book discusses the elaborate mathematical models that have been derived and an approach to validate the mathematical models with test results. Presenting the complex methodology in simple language, it will prove to be a valuable resource for students, researchers, and professional engineers alike.
