Book Active Noise Control

    Book Details:
  • Author : M. O. Tokhi
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press, USA
  • Release : 1992
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 234 pages

Download or read book Active Noise Control written by M. O. Tokhi and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1992 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In active noise control an artificially-generated secondary acoustic field is used to interfere destructively with the unwanted sound field. This book deals with the control engineering of generating this secondary field. This technique has uses in suppressing machinery noise in particular.

Book Noise Controlling Casings

Download or read book Noise Controlling Casings written by Marek Pawelczyk and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2022-07-28 with total page 291 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Noise-Controlling Casings offers a range of feasible noise-controlling strategies for different kinds of devices generating excessive noise. Depending on the required performance and the availability of energy sources, three solution categories are presented: passive (no external energy is needed, but performance is limited), semi-active (little energy is needed, but performance achieves higher values) and active (best performance, but an external energy source is needed). Two very important benefits of these proposed solutions are global noise reduction (in an entire enclosure or the surrounding space) and compact technology (contrary to other active noise control solutions requiring a large number of secondary sources and distributed sensors). Many of the solutions presented are original approaches by the authors, their own developed concepts and new elements and designs that have gained recognition in prestigious journals. The book provides a theoretical background to the research, looking at system configurations, mathematical modelling, signal processing implementation and numerical analysis. The proposed ideas can be applied to any devices provided they have casings of thin walls or they can be enclosed by casings of thin walls. Applications include industrial devices, household appliances, vehicle or aircraft cabins and more. This book will be of interest to professionals and students in the fields of acoustics, vibration, signal processing, control, automotive and aircraft engineering.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The two-volume set LNCS 9774 and 9775 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 10th International Conference EuroHaptics 2016, held in London, UK, in July 2016. The 100 papers (36 oral presentations and 64 poster presentations) presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 162 submissions. These proceedings reflect the multidisciplinary nature of EuroHaptics and cover topics such as perception of hardness and softness; haptic devices; haptics and motor control; tactile cues; control of haptic interfaces; thermal perception; robotics and sensing; applications.

Book Active Noise Control Primer

Download or read book Active Noise Control Primer written by Scott D. Snyder and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-09-25 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By providing all the basic knowledge needed to assess how useful active noise control will be for a given problem, this book assists in the designing, setting up, and tuning of an active noise-control system. Written for students who have no prior knowledge of acoustics, signal processing, or noise control but who do have a reasonable grasp of basic physics and mathematics, the text is short and descriptive, leaving all mathematical details and proofs concerning vibrations, signal processing and the like to more advanced texts or research monographs. The book can thus be used in independent study, in a classroom with laboratories, or in conjunction with a kit for experiment or demonstration. Topics covered include basic acoustics, human perception and sound, sound intensity and related concepts, fundamentals of passive noise- control strategies, basics of digital systems and adaptive controllers, and active noise control systems.

Book Automatic Control Robotics and Information Processing

Download or read book Automatic Control Robotics and Information Processing written by Piotr Kulczycki and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-09-03 with total page 843 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a wide and comprehensive range of issues and problems in various fields of science and engineering, from both theoretical and applied perspectives. The desire to develop more effective and efficient tools and techniques for dealing with complex processes and systems has been a natural inspiration for the emergence of numerous fields of science and technology, in particular control and automation and, more recently, robotics. The contributions gathered here concern the development of methods and algorithms to determine best practices regarding broadly perceived decisions or controls. From an engineering standpoint, many of them focus on how to automate a specific process or complex system. From a tools-based perspective, several contributions address the development of analytic and algorithmic methods and techniques, devices and systems that make it possible to develop and subsequently implement the automation and robotization of crucial areas of human activity. All topics discussed are illustrated with sample applications.
