Book excerpt: Compte tenu de leur capacité d’intégrer la complexité de la géométrie, le comportement du sol environnant ou encore les processus du creusement lors de l’évaluation des mouvements engendrés par l’exécution d’un ouvrage souterrain, les méthodes numériques deviennent de plus en plus indispensables en phase de dimensionnement. La pratique des travaux souterrains a d’ailleurs démontré que la plupart des ouvrages sont dans le domaine des petites déformations où le comportement de sol nécessite alors l’incorporation de modèles capables de représenter le comportement du sol sous petites déformations. Ce travail de thèse constitue une contribution à l’étude numérique de l’influence de la prise en compte des modules en petites déformations et de l’anisotropie des sols lors du creusement d’un ouvrage souterrain. Pour cela, une série de modèles permettant de simuler la raideur du sol croissante en fonction de la profondeur, la raideur plus élevée sous faibles déformations, la non linéarité du comportement en petites déformations, l’histoire des sollicitations et le radoucissement en grandes déformations a été retenue et implémentée dans le code de calcul en différence finies FLAC3D. Ces modèles ont été ensuite validés sur différents chemins de sollicitations avant qu’ils soient appliqués à la simulation d’ouvrages souterrains peu profonds dans de l’argile surconsolidée de Londres. Une des conclusions de ce travail de recherche réside dans le fait que l’introduction de la non linéarité du sol sous faibles déformations conduit à une prédiction bien meilleure des mouvements du sol autour d’un ouvrage souterrain creusé dans des argiles anisotropes et fortement surconsolidées. Un autre des phénomènes clés à prendre en compte est l’état caractéristique des sols.
