Murray Bowen, M.D., the first researcher to observe several live-in families, for up to three years, at the National Institute of Mental Health. Describing how family members overly influence one another and distribute stress unevenly, Bowen described both how symptoms and family leaders emerge in highly stressed families. Our brain is not organized to automatically perceive that each family has an emotional system, fine-tuned by evolution and "valuing" its survival as a whole, as much as the survival of any individual. It is easier to see this emotional system function in ants or mice but not in humans. The emotional system is organized to snooker us humans: encouraging us to take sides, run away from others, to pressure others, to get sick, to blame others, and to have great difficulty in seeing our part in problems. It is hard to see that we become anxious, stressed out and even that we are difficult to deal with. But "thinking systems" can open the doors of perception, allowing us to experience the world in a different way. This book offers both coaching ideas and stories from leaders as to strategies to break out from social control by de-triangling, using paradoxes, reversals and other types of interruptions of highly linked emotional processes. Time is needed to think clearly about the automatic nature of the two against one triangle. Time and experience is required as we learn strategies to put two people together and get self outside the control of the system. In addition, it takes time to clarify and define one's principles, to know what "I" will or will not do and to be able to take a stand with others with whom we are very involved. The good news is that systems' thinking is possible for anyone. It is always possible for an individual to understand feelings and to integrate them with their more rational brains. In so doing, an individual increases his or her ability to communicate despite misunderstandings or even rejection from important others. The effort involved in creating your Mindful Compass enables us to perceive the relationship system without experiencing it's threats. The four points on the Mindful Compass are: 1) Action for Self, 2) Resistance to Forward Progress, 3) Knowledge of Social Systems and the 4) The Ability to Stand Alone. Each gives us a view of the process one enters when making an effort to define a self and build an emotional backbone. It is not easy to find our way through the social jungle. The ability to know emotional systems well enough to take a position for self and to become more differentiated is part of the natural way humans cope with pressure. Now people can use available knowledge to build an emotional backbone, by thoughtfully altering their part in the relationship system. No one knows how far one can go by making an effort to be more of a self-defined individual in relationships to others. Through increasing emotional maturity, we can find greater individual freedom at the same time that we increase our ability to cooperate and to be close to others.

Part I brings together studies dealing with descriptive concepts. First examined is the notion of “accidens” in Latin grammar and its Greek counterparts. Other papers address questions with a strong echo in today’s linguistics: localism and its revival in recent semantics and syntax, the origin of the term “polysemy” and its adoption through Bréal, and the difficulties attending the description of prefabs, idioms and other “fixed expressions”. This first part also includes studies dealing with representations of linguistic phenomena, whether these concern the treatment of local varieties (so-called patois) in French research, or the import and epistemological function of spatial representations in descriptions of linguistic time. Or again, now taking the word “representation” literally, the visual display of grammatical relations, in the form of the first syntactic diagrams. Part II presents case studies which involve wider concerns, of a social nature: the “from below” approach to the history of Chinese Pidgin English underlines the social roles of speakers and the diversity of speech situations, while the scrutiny of Lhomond’s Latin and French textbooks demonstrates the interplay of pedagogical practice, cross-linguistic comparison and descriptive innovation. An overview of early descriptions of Central Australian languages reveals a whole spectrum of humanist to positivist and antihumanist stances during the colonial age. An overarching framework is also at play in the anthropological perspective championed by Meillet, whose socially and culturally oriented semantics is shown to live on in Benveniste. The volume ends with a paper on Trần Đức Thảo, whose work is an original synthesis between phenomenology and Marxist semiology, wielded against the “idealistic” doctrine of Saussure.

Dans la première partie, nous avons interviewé un apprenant chinois du FLE (Français Langue Etrangère) qui dispose du niveau B2 du CECRL. Nous établissons un corpus qui comporte un enregistrement de l’interview, un enregistrement de la production de lecture de l’apprenant et sa production écrite. Pendant notre interview, nous remarquons que l’apprenant commet un grand nombre d’erreurs de toutes sortes. Cela nous donne un point intéressant pour notre analyse, plus précisément, notre analyse se déroulera autour des erreurs commises par l’apprenant. Afin de bien analyser le corpus, tout d’abord, nous consacrons une grande partie à classifier les erreurs commises par l’apprenant dans l’enregistrement de l’interview. Au travers de cette classification, nous nous focaliserons sur l’interlangue de l’apprenant et la synthétiserons. Finalement, nous sélectionnons une erreur particulièrement remarquable et récurrente dans l’enregistrement et nous allons mentionner une description linguistique du fait de langue concerné, et pour être plus pragmatique, nous analyserons deux méthodes d’apprentissages du FLE sur le point linguistique qui pose le problème. Dans la deuxième partie, afin de découvrir des techniques d’enseignement et d’obtenir plus d’expériences dans l’enseignement du Français Langue Etrangère, j’ai fait un stage d’observation en France à l’université Rennes2 au CIREFE (Centre International Rennais d’Etudes de Français pour Etrangers) de février jusqu’à avril, en 2016. Pendant le stage, j’observe des cours du niveau A2 et B2 selon le CECRL (le Cadre Européen Commun de Référence pour les Langues). Je remarque des méthodes, des stratégies et des techniques d’apprentissage que l’enseignante et les apprenants consacrent à l’enseignement et à l’apprentissage, ce qui m’inspire beaucoup. De plus, chez les apprenants, je vois qu’il existe un grand nombre d’erreurs de toute sorte, de même, l’enseignante les traite des façons différentes et donne aux apprenants les remédiations originales, ce qui me fournit une réflexion didactique. Donc, je vais aborder mon rapport par la présentation du lieu de stage, le CIREFE. Ensuite, je présenterai les cours observés. Enfin, je consacrerai une grande partie à une réflexion didactique autour du traitement de l’erreur.
