This book was released on 2016-01-01 with total page 619 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Rev. Emilio Saenz Olivares was born in Northern Mexico and is a native of this region, being living here since 1943, where I have had my education for the secular and also for the spiritual. I attended the R.G.B. Institute in Edinburg, Texas, after I Pastored three churches, and I am still able to teach Sunday School in my old age, for the glory of the Lord. Back in 1994, I visited the group of Messianic believers and became a member, until the Rabbi Absalom Ben David quit and moved out of this area, he taught us the Hebrew lessons well, also Ms. Sara Pasol from Brownsville,Texas, a Hebrew teacher, she emphasized the learning of the Hebrew verbs and how to conjugate them in all its tenses. That was when the Lord gave me the idea to write these books, first in Spanish/Hebrew, then this in English/Hebrew in an Interlinear format. Also from Ms. Jaffa McPherson, from Easy Hebrew from Greenville, TN. May the Lord bless all these teachers. It is my sincere hope that this book will bring you the desire to learn and speak the Hebrew, the words spoken by our Lord Jesus Christ. Most of these words are the same as today’s Hebrew. For the glory of the Lord and His Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
Download or read book Social Environment and Cognition in Language Development written by F. Nihan Ketrez and published by John Benjamins Publishing Company. This book was released on 2017-07-18 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Language development is driven by multiple factors involving both the individual child and the environments that surround the child. The chapters in this volume highlight several such factors as potential contributors to developmental change, including factors that examine the role of immediate social environment (i.e., parent SES, parent and sibling input, peer interaction) and factors that focus on the child’s own cognitive and social development, such as the acquisition of theory of mind, event knowledge, and memory. The discussion of the different factors is presented largely from a crosslinguistic framework, using a multimodal perspective (speech, gesture, sign). The book celebrates the scholarly contributions of Prof. Ayhan Aksu-Koç – a pioneer in the study of crosslinguistic variation in language acquisition, particularly in the domain of evidentiality and theory of mind. This book will serve as an important resource for researchers in the field of developmental psychology, cognitive science, and linguistics across the globe.
Download or read book Peripheries written by David Adger and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-01-14 with total page 446 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The syntactic periphery has become one of the most important areas of research in syntactic theory in recent years, due to the emergence of new research programmes initiated by Rizzi, Kayne and Chomsky. However research has concentrated on the empirical nature of clausal peripheries. The purpose of this volume is to explore the question of whether the notion of periphery has any real theoretical bite. An important consensus emerging from the volume is that the edges of certain syntactic expressions appear to be the locus of the connection between phrase structure, prosody, and information structure. This volume contains 16 papers by researchers in this area. The book: - contains an extensive introduction setting out the research questions addressed and setting the contributions in an overall theoretical context, - has a distinct comparative slant, - brings together work from a range of theoretical perspectives, while maintaining a unity of purpose, - could serve as the basis for a graduate course on peripheral positions, - contains papers addressing: = the question of the fine-grainedness of syntactic representations, = the relevance of syntactic edges to locality and semantic interpretation, = the nature of the dependencies connecting peripheral elements to the syntactic core. Audience: Academics and graduate students interested in syntax and its interfaces with semantics and prosody, acquisition of syntax, cross-linguistic comparison.
