Book excerpt: El objetivo de la investigación fue identificar y formalizar algunos de los criterios socio-políticos que se utilizan en la priorización de proyectos de mantenimiento de pavimentos urbanos, a través de entrevistas a tomadores de decisiones y un panel de expertos. Se desarrolló un diseño conceptual de un SIG capaz de cuantificarlos mediante la manipulación de base de datos y análisis espaciales. Finalmente se priorizaron considerándolos mediante un análisis multicriterio, que desarrolló un polinomio de priorización a partir del análisis de resultados de una encuesta en base a escenarios de decisión distribuida a personal experto de instituciones encargadas de la gestión de pavimentos urbanos. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que los criterios pueden ser cuantificados mediante el uso de SIG ya que poseen una importante componente geográfica, y así, pueden ser considerados en la priorización de proyectos de conservación de pavimentos urbanos.
