Book Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry II

Download or read book Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry II written by and published by Newnes. This book was released on 2013-07-23 with total page 7694 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry II, Nine Volume Set reviews and examines topics of relevance to today’s inorganic chemists. Covering more interdisciplinary and high impact areas, Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry II includes biological inorganic chemistry, solid state chemistry, materials chemistry, and nanoscience. The work is designed to follow on, with a different viewpoint and format, from our 1973 work, Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry, edited by Bailar, Emeléus, Nyholm, and Trotman-Dickenson, which has received over 2,000 citations. The new work will also complement other recent Elsevier works in this area, Comprehensive Coordination Chemistry and Comprehensive Organometallic Chemistry, to form a trio of works covering the whole of modern inorganic chemistry. Chapters are designed to provide a valuable, long-standing scientific resource for both advanced students new to an area and researchers who need further background or answers to a particular problem on the elements, their compounds, or applications. Chapters are written by teams of leading experts, under the guidance of the Volume Editors and the Editors-in-Chief. The articles are written at a level that allows undergraduate students to understand the material, while providing active researchers with a ready reference resource for information in the field. The chapters will not provide basic data on the elements, which is available from many sources (and the original work), but instead concentrate on applications of the elements and their compounds. Provides a comprehensive review which serves to put many advances in perspective and allows the reader to make connections to related fields, such as: biological inorganic chemistry, materials chemistry, solid state chemistry and nanoscience Inorganic chemistry is rapidly developing, which brings about the need for a reference resource such as this that summarise recent developments and simultaneously provide background information Forms the new definitive source for researchers interested in elements and their applications; completely replacing the highly cited first edition, which published in 1973

Book Micro and Mesoporous Mineral Phases

Download or read book Micro and Mesoporous Mineral Phases written by Giovanni Ferraris and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2018-12-17 with total page 462 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume 57 of Reviews in Mineralogy and Geochemistry highlights the present knowledge on micro- and mesoporous mineral phases, with focus on their crystal-chemical aspects, occurrence and porous activity in nature and experiments. As zeolites are the matter of numerous ad hoc meetings and books - including two volumes in this series - they do not specifically appear in the present volume. The phases of the sodalite and cancrinite-davyne groups, which mineralogists consider distinct from zeolites, are instead considered (in the order, chapter 7 by W. Depmeier and part of chapter 8 by E. Bonaccorsi and S. Merlino, respectively).

Book Design and Applications of Novel Titanium and Copper Containing Mesoporous Organic inorganic Hybrid Materials

Download or read book Design and Applications of Novel Titanium and Copper Containing Mesoporous Organic inorganic Hybrid Materials written by Ruth Ballesteros Gómez and published by Librería-Editorial Dykinson. This book was released on 2011-03-24 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Different titanium-containing hybrid mesoporous materials have been successfully synthesized from cyclopentadienyl or alkoxo titanium derivatives as titanium sources. The immobilization of the titanium complex has been carried out by grafting or tethering method in order to compare the catalytic performance of each process. Furthermore, two different capped agents have been used to silylate the support surface in order to increase the hydrophobic character of the final catalyst. In chapter 6 it would be evaluated if the choice of the capped agent employed has consequences in the activity of the catalyst in determined epoxidation reactions.

Book Design of Advanced Photocatalytic Materials for Energy and Environmental Applications

Download or read book Design of Advanced Photocatalytic Materials for Energy and Environmental Applications written by Juan M. Coronado and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-05-27 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Research for the development of more efficient photocatalysts has experienced an almost exponential growth since its popularization in early 1970’s. Despite the advantages of the widely used TiO2, the yield of the conversion of sun power into chemical energy that can be achieved with this material is limited prompting the research and development of a number of structural, morphological and chemical modifications of TiO2 , as well as a number of novel photocatalysts with very different composition. Design of Advanced Photocatalytic Materials for Energy and Environmental Applications provides a systematic account of the current understanding of the relationships between the physicochemical properties of the catalysts and photoactivity. The already long list of photocatalysts phases and their modifications is increasing day by day. By approaching this field from a material sciences angle, an integrated view allows readers to consider the diversity of photocatalysts globally and in connection with other technologies. Design of Advanced Photocatalytic Materials for Energy and Environmental Applications provides a valuable road-map, outlining the common principles lying behind the diversity of materials, but also delimiting the imprecise border between the contrasted results and the most speculative studies. This broad approach makes it ideal for specialist but also for engineers, researchers and students in related fields.
