Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two fractured hearts and a forbidden love they can't deny. You shouldn't want what you can't have... Faye Donovan has lost everything. After her parent's tragic death, she's whisked away from her home in Ireland when an unknown uncle surfaces as her new guardian. Dropped smack-dab into the All-American dream, Faye should feel grateful. Except living with her wealthy uncle, his fashion-empire-owning wife, and their seven screwed-up sons is quickly turning into a nightmare-especially when certain inappropriate feelings arise. Kyler Kennedy makes her head hurt and her heart race, but he's her cousin. He's off limits. And he's not exactly welcoming-Kyler is ignorant, moody, and downright cruel at times-but Faye sees behind the mask he wears, recognizing a kindred spirit. Kyler has sworn off girls, yet Faye gets under his skin. The more he pushes her away, the more he's drawn to her, but acting on those feelings risks a crap-ton of prejudice, and any whiff of scandal could damage the precious Kennedy brand. Concealing their feelings seems like the only choice. But when everyone has something to hide, a secret is a very dangerous thing. "Being a fan of the Royals series and the Fallen Crest series this book had everything I love - drama, mystery, betrayal, love, friendship, and the bond of family." Emma. Goodreads Reviewer. NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: Only suitable for readers aged seventeen and older due to mature content and language. Please note this book contains a forbidden love theme featuring first cousins and a cliff hanger. It is not a standalone read.

Book My Journey to Rediscover Relationships

Download or read book My Journey to Rediscover Relationships written by Johnie Hinson and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-01-12 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Johnie Hinson's journey to rediscover relationships took him to a new level in his understanding of relationship dynamics. The Lord opened a door of opportunity allowing Johnie to glean precious knowledge about the greatest gift He gave to humanity. The Lord's revelations provided keen insight into how He views relationships and His expectations of how Johnie should approach them. The first revelation or divine insight Johnie discusses in his book reveals the significance of our connections. "Life is all about relationships, and relationships are all about life." Johnie discovered that nothing in life promotes greater satisfaction than meaningful connections with family, friends, and the Lord who made life possible. As a result, Johnie chose to make his relationships a priority. Johnie's journey also provided him with a greater understanding of marriage and his role in the home. He learned that marriage isn't a contract between a man and a woman but a covenant designed to connect them in a lifelong union. Johnie is constantly reminded by the Lord that "Your marriage isn't about you, it's about what you promised in your vows." Although a painful reality, the author is learning that fulfilling his promise to his wife, Rene, is the only way to make their house a home. Johnie chose to become her husband, now he chooses to fulfill his responsibilities. Johnie is convinced that life is a journey, and if he intends to enjoy the ride, vertical and horizontal connections will play a significant role. As a minister serving the Lord for 47 years and traveling around the globe, I can attest that everything rises and falls on relationships. As a minister, military officer, husband and father, Johnie Hinson's story can teach us a lifetime of lessons about relationships that we can all learn from. I highly recommend this book to you. Rev. Book The Enduring Crown Commonwealth

Download or read book The Enduring Crown Commonwealth written by Michael J. Smith and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2023-05-15 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The controversial Netflix series The Crown covers the tumultuous period from the Queen’s accession in 1952 to the present day, and so does this book, which explores the rise, decline and—to some—unexpected rebound of the historic UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand alliance. While a post-Brexit and post-Elizabethan Britain seeks a new role in today’s volatile world, its traditional partner countries also recognise the logic of reinvigorating their relationship, based on a multitude of still-strong cultural, economic, political, and military ties, including the monarchy as a uniquely shared global, and not merely British, institution. But this wasn’t always the case. Although in the 1950s commentators spoke of a new "Elizabethan Age" with much postwar hope across the Commonwealth, that optimism quickly faded. By the 1970s, many thought Britain washed up and that Crown and Commonwealth ties and allegiance were becoming obsolete. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the four countries increasingly went their separate ways. So, a groggy time-traveller from that period appearing in London, Toronto, Sydney, or Auckland today would be taken by surprise by the durability of the Crown, even as it has passed to King Charles, and the growing reconvergence of the four "CANZUK" realms in terms of trade, defence, foreign policy coordination, freedom of movement, mutual recognition of professional qualifications, and other new or revived links. This book evocatively tells the whole story of where we are, what’s possible for the future, and not least how we got here. In today’s age of global instability and raw power politics, this renewed Anglosphere Crown Commonwealth alliance is more important and relevant than ever.

Book Friendship and Hospitality

    Book Details:
  • Author : Dongfeng Xu
  • Publisher : State University of New York Press
  • Release : 2021-08-01
  • ISBN : 1438484968
  • Pages : 371 pages

Download or read book Friendship and Hospitality written by Dongfeng Xu and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2021-08-01 with total page 371 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Jesuit mission to China more than four hundred years ago has been the subject of sustained scholarly investigation for centuries. Focusing on the concepts of friendship and hospitality as they were both theorized and practiced by the Jesuit missionaries and their Confucian hosts, this book offers a new, comparative, and deconstructive reading of the interaction between these two vastly different cultures. Dongfeng Xu analyzes how the Jesuits presented their concept of friendship to achieve their evangelical goals and how the Confucians reacted in turn by either displaying or denying hospitality. Challenging the hierarchical view in traditional discourse on friendship and hospitality by revealing the irreducible otherness as the condition of possibility of the two concepts, Xu argues that one legacy of the Jesuit-Confucian encounter has been the shared recognition that cultural differences are what both motivated and conditioned cross-cultural exchanges and understandings.
