Book UFOs and Government

  • Author : Michael D. Swords
  • Publisher : Anomalist Books, LLC
  • Release : 2012
  • ISBN : 1933665580
  • Pages : 594 pages

Download or read book UFOs and Government written by Michael D. Swords and published by Anomalist Books, LLC. This book was released on 2012 with total page 594 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Governments around the world have had to deal with the UFO phenomenon for a good part of a century. How and why they did so is the subject of UFOs and Government, a history that for the first time tells the story from the perspective of the governments themselves. It's a perspective that reveals a great deal about what we citizens have seen, and puzzled over, from the "outside" for so many years. The story, which is unmasked by the governments' own documents, explains much that is new, or at least not commonly known, about the seriousness with which the military and intelligence communities approached the UFO problem internally. Those approaches were not taken lightly. In fact, they were considered matters of national security. At the same time, the story reveals how a subject with such apparent depth of experience and interest became treated as if it were a triviality. And it explains why one government, the United States government, deemed it wise, and perhaps even necessary, to treat it so. Though the book focuses primarily on the U. S. government's response to the UFO phenomenon, also included is the treatment of the subject by the governments of Sweden, Australia, France, Spain, and other countries. This large-format, fully illustrated book is the result of a team effort that called itself "The UFO History Group," a collection of veteran UFO historians and researchers who spent more than four years researching, consulting, writing, and editing to present a work of historical scholarship on government response to the UFO phenomenon. Michael Swords was the primary author of the United States chapters. The work was coordinated and edited by Robert Powell. Clas Svahn, Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos, Bill Chalker, and Robert Powell contributed country chapters. Jan Aldrich was the primary content consultant, with additional content consultation and writing coming from Barry Greenwood and Richard Thieme. Steve Purcell was the primary photo illustration editor. From the foreword by Jerome Clark: "While UFOs and Government revisits an often unhappy history, the reading of it is far from an unhappy experience. The authors, eloquent, intelligent, sophisticated, and conscientious, provide us with the first credible, comprehensive overview of official UFO history in many years... Most of the current volume deals with U.S. military and intelligence responses to the UFO phenomenon, but it also features richly informative chapters that expand the story across the international arena. If you're looking for an example of a nation that dealt productively with the UFO reports that came its official way, you will take heart in the chapter on the French projects... From here on, every responsible treatment of UFOs and government will have to cite UFOs and Government prominently among its sources... this is the real story as accurately as it can be reconstructed in the second decade of the new century. I expect to keep my copy close at hand and to return to it often. While it cannot be said of many books, UFO-themed or otherwise, this is among the essential ones. Stray from it at your peril."

Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Impeccably researched, this riveting journalistic investigation separates fact from fiction, and documents the unexplained mysteries of—and government reactions to—actual UFOs. “A treasure trove of insightful and eye-opening information.”—Michio Kaku, PH.D., bestselling author of Physics of the Future Leslie Kean, a veteran investigative reporter who has spent the past ten years studying the still-unexplained UFO phenomenon, reviewed hundreds of government documents, aviation reports, radar data, and case studies with corroborating physical evidence. She interviewed dozens of high-level officials and aviation witnesses from around the world. Among them, five Air Force generals and a host of high-level sources—including Fife Symington III, former governor of Arizona, and Nick Pope, former head of the British Defence Ministry’s UFO Investigative Unit—have written their own breathtaking, firsthand accounts about UFO encounters and investigations exclusively for this book. With the support of former White House chief of staff John Podesta, Kean lifts the veil on decades of U.S. government misinformation about this mysterious phenomenon and presents irrefutable evidence that unknown flying objects—metallic, luminous, and seemingly able to maneuver in ways that defy the laws of physics—actually exist. With a Foreword by John Podesta “The most important book on the phenomenon in a generation.”—Journal of Scientific Exploration “Written with penetrating depth and insight, the revelations in this book constitute a watershed event in lifting the taboo against rational discourse about this controversial subject.”—Harold E. Puthoff, PH.D., Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies at Austin “Kean presents the most accurate, most credible reports on UFOs you will ever find. She may not have the final smoking gun, but I smell the gunpowder.”—Miles O’Brien, science correspondent for PBS’s NewsHour

Book Ancient Aliens on the Moon

Download or read book Ancient Aliens on the Moon written by Mike Bara and published by SCB Distributors. This book was released on 2012-03-27 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Best-selling author and Secret Space Program researcher Bara brings us this lavishly-illustrated volume on alien structures on the Moon. He looks into the history of lunar anomalies and the early NASA programs. He gives us an examination of ruins on the Moon in the Sinus Medii region using images from the Surveyor, Lunar Orbiter and Ranger missions. He looks at the Apollo lunar missions to the Moon and the photographic evidence supporting the theory that transparent domes exist at the edge of craters on the orb. Did the domes encompass settlements of humans or other beings who lived there? He looks at further anomalies in the Mare Crisium region, including the hexagonal shape of the Crisium region itself. In this area, domes over the craters resemble watch-crystals. See the evidence in pictures of Cleomedes F and Cleomedes F/a, and an historical image of a giant shard of transparent material that was whitewashed from later versions of the same image. Bara discusses the popular theory that the film “2001 –A Space Odyssey” was used as a training ground for Stanley Kubrick to develop the technology to fake the footage of the moon landings. He also explores the curious mission of Apollo 17-possibly a technology salvage mission, primarily concerned with investigating an opening into a massive hexagonal ruin near the landing site. Bara details how the astronauts managed to get nearly 30 minutes of “off camera” time to investigate an entrance into the ruin and then later proceeded to a nearby crater to retrieve technological objects. He examines evidence from the Russian Zond series of lunar probes, as well as the more current Clementine and Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter data, including an in-depth study of strange objects in Tycho crater. Also included: a look at the current politics of the new race to return to the Moon and what hidden agendas may be behind it. Finally, Bara looks at the various arguments that the entire Moon is an artificial object. Bara shows how the Moon would have been an ideal place for an alien species involved in genetic experimentation on Earth to have set up a base. 292 Pages. 6x9 Paperback. Illustrated. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: INTRODUCING UFOs - A Young Person's GuideWritten by Philip Mantle and illustrated by Ronald Kinsella. The UFO subject as we know it came to the public's attention on June 24th 1947 when private pilot Kenneth Arnold, flying over the Cascade Mountains in the USA, witnessed a formation of objects that he could not identify. Speaking later to a journalist regarding the encounter, Arnold was asked how this formation of objects moved through the air, and his response was: "Like skipping a saucer across a pond." From that moment on, the coined phrase 'Flying Saucer' was born.Since that time, the UFO subject has been studied by a variety of military agencies, scientists and of course civilian run organisations. As a result, there are thousands of UFO books and magazines available, plus countless news items and documentaries on television, social media and of course online. Very few of these cater for a younger audience, so that is where our book 'INTRODUCING UFOs - A Young Person's Guide' steps in. I think the title says it all.In this book, we look at selected case histories from the 1940's onwards. These documentations are not meant to be in-depth, but rather to illustrate the case in as brief a way as possible, without missing any salient points. The case histories chosen for this book come from around the world and are accompanied by illustrations, documents, photographs and maps. Each chapter is split into decades and comes complete with its own piece of unique artwork. The book also provides an overview on what to do if you encounter a UFO and discusses, in brief, some of the many theories put forward to try and explain the phenomenon. This book is designed with a young adolescent audience in mind and comes complete with a photo section, with a series of authentic UFO photographs from around the world. The UFO phenomena shows no signs of disappearing, hence a book that we hope might help the next generation of researchers in their quest for answers.ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR: Ronald Kinsella (illustrator): Ronald Kinsella is an artist and author.
