Book Remote Sensing Based Building Extraction

Download or read book Remote Sensing Based Building Extraction written by Mohammad Awrangjeb and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2020-03-27 with total page 442 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Building extraction from remote sensing data plays an important role in urban planning, disaster management, navigation, updating geographic databases, and several other geospatial applications. Even though significant research has been carried out for more than two decades, the success of automatic building extraction and modeling is still largely impeded by scene complexity, incomplete cue extraction, and sensor dependency of data. Most recently, deep neural networks (DNN) have been widely applied for high classification accuracy in various areas including land-cover and land-use classification. Therefore, intelligent and innovative algorithms are needed for the success of automatic building extraction and modeling. This Special Issue focuses on newly developed methods for classification and feature extraction from remote sensing data for automatic building extraction and 3D

Book Advances in Visual Computing

Download or read book Advances in Visual Computing written by Richard Boyle and published by Springer. This book was released on 2008-12-03 with total page 1245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is with greatpleasure that we present the proceedings of the 4th International Symposium on Visual Computing (ISVC 2008) in Las Vegas, Nevada. ISVC o?ers a common umbrella for the four main areas of visual computing including vision, graphics, visualization, and virtual reality. Its goal is to provide a forum for researchers, scientists, engineers and practitioners throughout the world to present their latest research ?ndings, ideas, developments and applications in the broader area of visual computing. This year,ISVC grew signi?cantly; the programconsisted of 15 oralsessions, 1 poster session, 8 special tracks, and 6 keynote presentations. The response to the call for papers was very strong; we received over 340 submissions for the main symposium from which we accepted 102 papers for oral presentation and 70 papers for poster presentation. Special track papers were solicited separately through the Organizing and Program Committees of each track. A total of 56 papers were accepted for oral presentation and 8 papers for poster presentation in the special tracks. All papers were reviewed with an emphasis on potential to contribute to the state of the art in the ?eld. Selection criteria included accuracy and originality of ideas, clarity and signi?cance of results, and presentation quality. The review process was quite rigorous, involving two to three independent blind reviews followed by several days of discussion. During the discussion period we tried to correct anomalies and errors that might have existed in the initial reviews.

Book Computational Methods for Optimal Design and Control

Download or read book Computational Methods for Optimal Design and Control written by J. Borggaard and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 467 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Optimal Design and Control, held in Arlington, Virginia, 30 September-3 Octo ber, 1997. The First Workshop was held in Blacksburg, Virginia in 1994. The proceedings of that meeting also appeared in the Birkhauser series on Progress in Systems and Control Theory and may be obtained through Birkhauser. These workshops were sponsored by the Air Force Office of Scientific Re search through the Center for Optimal Design and Control (CODAC) at Vrrginia Tech. The meetings provided a forum for the exchange of new ideas and were designed to bring together diverse viewpoints and to highlight new applications. The primary goal of the workshops was to assess the current status of research and to analyze future directions in optimization based design and control. The present volume contains the technical papers presented at the Second Workshop. More than 65 participants from 6 countries attended the meeting and contributed to its success. It has long been recognized that many modern optimal design problems are best viewed as variational and optimal control problems. Indeed, the famous problem of determining the body of revolution that produces a minimum drag nose shape in hypersonic How was first proposed by Newton in 1686. Optimal control approaches to design can provide theoretical and computational insight into these problems. This volume contains a number of papers which deal with computational aspects of optimal control.

Book Key Frame Extraction of Surveillance Video Based on Motion Analysis

Download or read book Key Frame Extraction of Surveillance Video Based on Motion Analysis written by Yunzuo Zhang and published by Scientific Research Publishing, Inc. USA. This book was released on 2021-01-29 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Surveillance video has a wide range of applications in many fields, such as national economic construction, public security information construction, and widely adopted countries worldwide. The infrastructure of the video surveillance system has begun to take shape and is still rapid expansion. As thousands of surveillance cameras monitor and record round the clock, the amount of video data has been explosive growth. Finding the required information in a large number of surveillance videos is undoubtedly a needle in a haystack. Motion is a significant feature of video, and much meaningful visual information is contained in the movement. In many application scenarios, like road traffic monitoring, security for major events, guidance for military aircraft, and autonomous vehicle, people tend to pay more attention to the moving object. The analysis shows that the key frame extraction of surveillance video based on motion analysis has important practical significance. Hence, this book puts forward several key frame extraction methods of surveillance video around capturing the target motion state.

There are many algorithms and techniques have been developed to solve image segmentation problems, the research topics in this book such as level set, active contour, AR time series image modeling, Support Vector Machines, Pixon based image segmentations, region similarity metric based technique, statistical ANN and JSEG algorithm were written in details. This book brings together many different aspects of the current research on several fields associated to digital image segmentation. Four parts allowed gathering the 27 chapters around the following topics: Survey of Image Segmentation Algorithms, Image Segmentation methods, Image Segmentation Applications and Hardware Implementation. The readers will find the contents in this book enjoyable and get many helpful ideas and overviews on their own study.

Book Very High Resolution VHR Satellite Imagery

Download or read book Very High Resolution VHR Satellite Imagery written by Francisco Eugenio and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2019-11-06 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recently, growing interest in the use of remote sensing imagery has appeared to provide synoptic maps of water quality parameters in coastal and inner water ecosystems;, monitoring of complex land ecosystems for biodiversity conservation; precision agriculture for the management of soils, crops, and pests; urban planning; disaster monitoring, etc. However, for these maps to achieve their full potential, it is important to engage in periodic monitoring and analysis of multi-temporal changes. In this context, very high resolution (VHR) satellite-based optical, infrared, and radar imaging instruments provide reliable information to implement spatially-based conservation actions. Moreover, they enable observations of parameters of our environment at greater broader spatial and finer temporal scales than those allowed through field observation alone. In this sense, recent very high resolution satellite technologies and image processing algorithms present the opportunity to develop quantitative techniques that have the potential to improve upon traditional techniques in terms of cost, mapping fidelity, and objectivity. Typical applications include multi-temporal classification, recognition and tracking of specific patterns, multisensor data fusion, analysis of land/marine ecosystem processes and environment monitoring, etc. This book aims to collect new developments, methodologies, and applications of very high resolution satellite data for remote sensing. The works selected provide to the research community the most recent advances on all aspects of VHR satellite remote sensing.
