Book Social Media Marketing and Customer Based Brand Equity for Higher Educational Institutions

Download or read book Social Media Marketing and Customer Based Brand Equity for Higher Educational Institutions written by Charitha Harshani Perera and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-09-30 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the extent to which social media marketing influences the customer-based brand equity of higher education institutes. Higher education institutions operate in a strong competitive environment due to the homogenous nature of their services and always look for new marketing strategies to be competitive in the marketplace. Therefore, building customer-based brand equity has become crucial for higher education institutions to differentiate themselves from others to attract prospective students. Social media-based marketing facilitated prospective students to communicate and collaborate to gather information relevant to higher education institutions and their respective brand equity. However, many models on customer-based brand equity received limited support in the higher education sector, particularly in emerging Asian countries. As such, drawing from social information processing theory, this book empirically investigates how higher education institutions can develop customer-based brand equity by using social media marketing and subjective norms mediated by brand credibility, taking cross-country comparisons between Sri Lanka and Vietnam. The book goes on to examine the applications and implications of the findings for higher education institutions in developing branding strategies through social media.

Book Exploration of Consumer Brand Name Equity for Established Products and Services

Download or read book Exploration of Consumer Brand Name Equity for Established Products and Services written by David Round and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objective of the study is the exploration of consumer brand name equity for established products and services. There is little research on consumer brandname equity for established products, despite the general assumption within the literature of the central importance to consumers of the brand name element. To achieve isolation of the brand name element the study focuses on name changes brought about by global marketing. Adopting both a critical realist position and a functional based approach towards consumer brand equity, a mixed methods three stage sequential study design is employed. The first stage of the research focuses on the theoretical literature relevant to consumer brand name equity. In particular it seeks to derive a theoretical model of the consumer impact of a change in brand name for an established product. The second stage of the research uses qualitative analysis to empirically explore established product brand name functions. The model developed in the first stage of research is used as a framework but research is not limited to the empirical exploration of this model. The final stage of the research uses quantitative analysis to empirically explore the importance of the brand name of established product to consumers. The research makes a number of contributions to the existing literature. It empirically identifies a number of ways in which the brand name of established products can provide equity to consumers; specifically through rational, relationship, habitual and symbolic functions. One key finding is the discovery that much of the symbolic value appears to be customer rather than corporate driven. A further contribution from the quantitative work is an indication that the overall importance of the brand name of established products holds significant variance. A minority of research participants placed great importance on the brand name element, whilst for the majority the brand name held little importance. This places in context the above functions of the brand name element. Key implications from this study are that the accepted centrality of the brandname element within branding needs qualification and the active role of the consumer within brand equity creation requires greater recognition. In addition, whilst the research findings provide a good rationale for why corporations are able to change the brand name of their products with minimal impact for most of their customers, it also suggests that for a minority of customers this name change will cause an insurmountable long term problem, which will have to be borne by the corporation.

Book The Effect of Consumer Based Brand Equity on Brand Reputation

Download or read book The Effect of Consumer Based Brand Equity on Brand Reputation written by Edin Sözer and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page 17 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study aims to to shed light into an unexplored area of the marketing by exploring the relationship between Consumer Based Brand Equity and Brand Reputation, two distinct constructs, the former from marketing theory and practice and the latter from the communication field, which play important roles in the market performance of firms. Results of the study confirm that there is a positive relationship within the sub-dimensions of Consumer Based Brand Equity in a sequential structure, which brings consumers from the basic awareness level about the brand to the formation of Brand Associations as well as the perception of quality and consequently resulting to support the level of loyalty through Brand Associations. Another finding of the study is that Brand Loyalty, which is the ultimate level of Consumer Based Brand Equity construct, is found to positively affecting the Brand Reputation. This study contributes to the existing literature by exploring the relationship between Consumer Based Brand Equity and Brand Reputation in a reverse direction compared to the existing studies in the literature. Finding suggests that not only Brand Reputation supports Brand Loyalty level of consumers as confirmed in the current literature.

Book The Handbook of Brand Management Scales

Download or read book The Handbook of Brand Management Scales written by Lia Zarantonello and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-08-05 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Handbook of Brand Management Scales is a concise, clear and easy-to-use collection of scales in brand management. Scales are a critical tool for researchers measuring consumer insights, emotions and responses. Existing handbooks of marketing scales do not include (or include very few) scales related to brand management constructs. This book is the first to meet this need. Sample scales include brand personality, brand authenticity, consumer–brand relationships and brand equity. Each scale is included with a clear definition of the construct it is designed to benchmark, a description of the scale itself, how to use it and examples of possible applications in managerial and academic contexts. A much-needed reference point, this is a unique, vital and convenient volume that should be within reach of every marketing scholar's and manager's desk.

Book Creating Brand Equity

Download or read book Creating Brand Equity written by and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2021-08-04 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seminar paper from the year 2020 in the subject Business economics - Miscellaneous, grade: 1,0, University of Applied Sciences Trier, language: English, abstract: In a global world where countless functionally similar products are offered, there must be a suitable reference point by which the success of a company can be defined - the brand equity. The following work therefore aims to provide a comprehensive overview of brand equity and its creation, measurement and maintenance. 1989 California - This year saw the start of an eight-year experiment in the USA, in which an identical compact car was sold under two different brands: the Toyota Corolla and the Chevrolet Prizm. The Toyota Corolla was launched several years earlier and had already gained the trust of many consumers in terms of quality, thus benefiting from a positive brand equity. The Chevrolet Prizm, on the other hand, was a completely new name for consumers in the compact car class. Despite the same technical characteristics of both vehicles, the Prizm was consistently rated worse and the price of the car was also lower than the one of the Toyota Corolla. What does the experiment demonstrate?

Book Towards Customer Equity should marketers shift focus from brand equity

Download or read book Towards Customer Equity should marketers shift focus from brand equity written by Malini Majumdar and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2009-11-23 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scientific Essay from the year 2009 in the subject Business economics - Offline Marketing and Online Marketing, , language: English, abstract: A strong brand, having high brand equity generates higher revenue for the company. Brand Equity, as evidenced, results from a strong mental association that the customer links with the brand. It can be considered as the sum of customers’ assessments of a brand’s intangible qualities. Therefore, it cannot be a true measure of the marketing efforts of a company, though it was perceived so long to be so. Customer Equity, of late, has been identified as a basis to build powerful customer-centric marketing programs, which are more effective in highly competitive business scenario. There are three drivers of customer equity—value equity, brand equity, and relationship equity. Today's turbulent business environment is in requirement of maximizing the value of a company's customer assets. This stresses further the importance of focusing on Customer Equity as a customer-centric approach, rather than on Brand Equity, basically a product-centered approach.

Book Exploring customer attitudes on BMW

Download or read book Exploring customer attitudes on BMW written by Marion Maguire and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2005-03-02 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2004 in the subject Business economics - Offline Marketing and Online Marketing, grade: A (1.0), Hawai'i Pacific University, course: Professional Paper MBA, language: English, abstract: “Building a brand is both an art and a science. It is the strategic mix of focus and risk that gives a brand its meaning in people’s lives (Dolan, 2003)”. Branding has been around for centuries as a means to distinguish the goods of one producer from those of another. Brand elements identify and differentiate the brand. However, many practicing managers refer to a brand as more than that. They define a brand in terms of having actually created a certain amount of awareness and reputation in the marketplace, which distinguishes a small brand from a big brand. Especially strong brands have a number of different types of intangible image associations that link customers emotionally to the brand. Prior research has explored differences in customer perception and evaluation of brands for example through investigating brand equity. More recent research has found out that customers differ not only in their perception of brands but also in how they relate to brands. This suggests that people sometimes even form a relationship with a specific brand (Aggarwal, 2004). Branding and brand-based differentiation are powerful means for creating and sustaining competitive advantage (Aggarwal, 2004). Highly competitive markets like the automotive market make powerful, strong brands essential to accomplishing growth. According to Agarwal, Dahlhoff & Rao (2004), companies create brand equity by delivering quality products and by creating strong, unique and favorable brand associations. Customer loyalty, larger margins, brand extension opportunities, enhanced perceptions of product performance, and increased marketing effectiveness and efficiency among other things are possible benefits of building up brand equity. This research paper will look at the brand BMW. BMW, which stands for “Bayerische Motoren Werke”, is a major European manufacturer of luxury cars. The headquarters of the multinational corporation BMW Group is in Munich, Germany. The company has built substantial brand equity over the years through the continuous branding efforts for high quality products. The luxury car category includes both traditional and functional luxury cars. U.S. manufacturers mainly produce traditional luxury cars, while functional luxury cars are represented primarily by European manufacturers such as BMW (Bernhardt & Kinnear, 1994).

Book Digital and Social Media Marketing

Download or read book Digital and Social Media Marketing written by Nripendra P. Rana and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-11-11 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines issues and implications of digital and social media marketing for emerging markets. These markets necessitate substantial adaptations of developed theories and approaches employed in the Western world. The book investigates problems specific to emerging markets, while identifying new theoretical constructs and practical applications of digital marketing. It addresses topics such as electronic word of mouth (eWOM), demographic differences in digital marketing, mobile marketing, search engine advertising, among others. A radical increase in both temporal and geographical reach is empowering consumers to exert influence on brands, products, and services. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and digital media are having a significant impact on the way people communicate and fulfil their socio-economic, emotional and material needs. These technologies are also being harnessed by businesses for various purposes including distribution and selling of goods, retailing of consumer services, customer relationship management, and influencing consumer behaviour by employing digital marketing practices. This book considers this, as it examines the practice and research related to digital and social media marketing.

Book Managing Brand Equity

Download or read book Managing Brand Equity written by David A. Aaker and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2009-12-01 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most important assets of any business are intangible: its company name, brands, symbols, and slogans, and their underlying associations, perceived quality, name awareness, customer base, and proprietary resources such as patents, trademarks, and channel relationships. These assets, which comprise brand equity, are a primary source of competitive advantage and future earnings, contends David Aaker, a national authority on branding. Yet, research shows that managers cannot identify with confidence their brand associations, levels of consumer awareness, or degree of customer loyalty. Moreover in the last decade, managers desperate for short-term financial results have often unwittingly damaged their brands through price promotions and unwise brand extensions, causing irreversible deterioration of the value of the brand name. Although several companies, such as Canada Dry and Colgate-Palmolive, have recently created an equity management position to be guardian of the value of brand names, far too few managers, Aaker concludes, really understand the concept of brand equity and how it must be implemented. In a fascinating and insightful examination of the phenomenon of brand equity, Aaker provides a clear and well-defined structure of the relationship between a brand and its symbol and slogan, as well as each of the five underlying assets, which will clarify for managers exactly how brand equity does contribute value. The author opens each chapter with a historical analysis of either the success or failure of a particular company's attempt at building brand equity: the fascinating Ivory soap story; the transformation of Datsun to Nissan; the decline of Schlitz beer; the making of the Ford Taurus; and others. Finally, citing examples from many other companies, Aaker shows how to avoid the temptation to place short-term performance before the health of the brand and, instead, to manage brands strategically by creating, developing, and exploiting each of the five assets in turn
