Download or read book An Evaluation of Lime Requirement Methods for Agricultural Soils in East Texas written by Henry Maswazi Dlamini and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Several methods to determine lime requirement were compared using east Texas soils. The methods include: (1) The Adams-Evans method, (2) The modified Adams-Evans method, (3) The Moore-Sikora method, and the University of Georgia single-addition titration method. The standard lime requirement was used as the reference to compare these methods. Use of 0.01M CaCl 2 or salt pH was also studied. The Adams-Evans buffer method was found to be the best method. However, because of the p-nitrophenol problem, the Moore-Sikora method was the next best method. Both the Adams-Evans and Moore Sikora methods overestimate lime requirement. Further research is recommended on the use of the University of Georgia single-addition titration method.
