If anyone comes to the same conclusions that I do, I want it to be from the influ ence of the word and spirit of God, and not from any statement or argument of mine. The refusal to answer these questions by a Bishop who was Superintendent of Missions in a Foreign Mission field was the cause of my making the follow ing offer in writing to his denomination, and to three other Missionary Societies since, each of which has declined to attempt to earn the money. I hold their refusal in writing. I could give the names, but have determined in this paper at any rate, I shall avoid all personalities. I make no premises for the future, but will have to be guided by circumstances and the interests of truth and the Gospel of Christ.
