Book An Annotated Bibliography for Instructional Systems Development

Download or read book An Annotated Bibliography for Instructional Systems Development written by and published by . This book was released on 1979 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of the study was to determine the availability of how to do it manuals for instructional systems development. The Interservice Procedures for Instructional Systems Development Model (ISD, TRADOC Pamphlet 350-30) indicates the steps to be taken for the development and conduct of training. Authoring aids, procedures, and techniques were identified as annotated references for each block of the ISD model. Directions for a future research plan were identified based on the lack of authoring aids available. (Author).

Book Survey of Instructional Development Models

Download or read book Survey of Instructional Development Models written by Kent L. Gustafson and published by E R I C Clearinghouse on Information & Technology. This book was released on 1997 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) monograph updates and expands upon earlier ERIC publications on the topic of instructional development (ID) models. This monograph presents a brief history of ID models, describes a taxonomy for classifying them, provides examples from each of the categories in the taxonomy, and describes trends in their content and focus. The 13 models described in the book are representative of the ID literature and reflect most of the main concepts found in other models. Specific models are described and discussed in each of three orientations: (1) classroom--Gerlach and Ely; Kemp, Morrison, and Ross; Heinich, Molenda, Russell, and Smaldino; and Reiser and Dick; (2) product--Van Patten; Leshin, Pollock, and Reigeluth; and Bergman and Moore; and (3) system--IDI (Instructional Development Institute); IPISD (Interservices Procedures for Instructional Systems Development); Diamond; Smith and Ragan; Gentry IPDM (Instructional Project Development and Management); and Dick and Carey. Eighteen figures illustrate the core elements of ID, portrayals of the ID process, Rapid Prototyping model, Layers of Necessity model, taxonomy of ID models based on selected characteristics, and 12 of the 13 reviewed models. An annotated bibliography of ERIC documents and journal articles, in addition to ordering information and background information on ERIC are provided. (Contains 54 references.) (SWC)

Book A Survey and Analysis of Military Computer Based Systems A Two Part Study Volume I A Survey and Annotated Bibliography of Aids for Instructional Systems Development

Download or read book A Survey and Analysis of Military Computer Based Systems A Two Part Study Volume I A Survey and Annotated Bibliography of Aids for Instructional Systems Development written by Robert S. Logan and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objectives of this study were: (1) to examine the literature to identify authoring aids for developing instructional materials and to indentify information clearing houses for existing instructional materials; and (2) to develop a generalized, computer-based model of a self-paced instructional system that can be used to determine expected timesaving and costs of self-pacing as compared to conventional instruction. The purpose of Part 1, reported in Volume 1, was to examine the ISD concept as it relates to the authoring process and to identify and analyze tools and procedures which facilitate the ISD process. Findings of the study are: (1) more applied but unevaluated documents are associated with the civilian environments; (2) relatively equal numbers of applied and evaluated documents exist in both the civilian and military environments; (3) a greater number of authoring aids (tools, procedures, and methodologies) tend to be produced by the civilian environment; and (4) more procedures are available than either tools or methodologies. Approximately sixty authoring tools and procedures are arranged by ISD phase and step in an extensive, annotated bibliography. The ISD model used in this study was the Interservice Procedures for Instructional Systems Development (IPISD) Model. The results of Part 2, a computer-based model of self-paced instruction, are reported in Volume 2. (Author).

Book Instructional Systems Development Conceptual Analysis and Comprehensive Bibliography

Download or read book Instructional Systems Development Conceptual Analysis and Comprehensive Bibliography written by Melvin D. Montemerlo and published by . This book was released on 1976 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report constitutes a first step in improving the state-of-the-art of instructional systems development (ISD). It contains a bibliography of about 4,000 entries divided into the following sections: instructional systems development/systems approach to training, evaluation, methodology selection, media selection, programmed instruction/computer assisted instruction, task analysis, job analysis, task taxonomy, specific behavioral objectives, sequencing, instructor training, educational management, cost effectiveness, innovation, educational technology, human engineering, simulation, and systems analysis/operations research. This report also presents a conceptual analysis of ISD, a process which is also known as: the systems approach to training (SAT), systems engineering of training (SET), training situation analysis (TSA), and the design of instructional systems (DIS). The related literature, dating from 1951 to the present, indicates the state-of-the-art to be unsettled. Over 100 ISD manuals are available which contain fundamental disagreement on the most basic aspects of course design. None of the manuals have been empirically validated. In an effort to understand the present state of affairs with respect to ISD, its history was researched. Its evolution was traced from its beginnings in systems analysis, to the systems analytic approach to training, to the proceduralized systems approach to training, which is now known as ISD. The factors which affected this evolution, the current state-of-the-art, and the major questions which remain unanswered are discussed. (Author).
