Book Amplitude Analysis of the Decay D0 to K K pi0

Download or read book Amplitude Analysis of the Decay D0 to K K pi0 written by and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Using 385 fb−1 of ee− collisions, they study the amplitudes of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D° → K−K+?°. They measure the strong phase difference between the {bar D}° and D° decays to K*(892)+K− to be -35.5{sup o} ± 1.9{sup o}(stat) ± 2.2{sup o}(syst), and their amplitude ratio to be 0.599 ± 0.013(stat) ± 0.011(syst). They observe contributions from the K? and K−K+ scalar and vector amplitudes, and analyze their angular moments. They find no evidence for charged?, nor for higher spin states. They also perform a partial wave analysis of the K−K+ system in a limited mass range.

Book The Photonic Hook

    Book Details:
  • Author : Oleg V. Minin
  • Publisher : Springer Nature
  • Release : 2021-03-31
  • ISBN : 3030669459
  • Pages : 104 pages

Download or read book The Photonic Hook written by Oleg V. Minin and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-03-31 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the recently-discovered artificially curved light beam known as the photonic hook. Self-bending of light, a long-time goal of optical scientists, was realized in 2007 with the Airy beam, followed by the first demonstration of the photonic hook by the authors of this book and their collaborators in 2015 and experimentally in 2019. The photonic hook has curvature less than the wavelength, along with other unique features described in this book that are not shared by Airy-like beams, and so deepens our understanding of light propagation. This book discusses the general principles of artificial near-field structured curved light and the full-wave simulations of the photonic hook along with their experimental confirmation. The book goes on to show how the photonic hook has implications for acoustic and surface plasmon waves and as well as applications in nanoparticle manipulation.

Book Dielectric Metamaterials

    Book Details:
  • Author : Igal Brener
  • Publisher : Woodhead Publishing
  • Release : 2019-10-15
  • ISBN : 0081024037
  • Pages : 310 pages

Download or read book Dielectric Metamaterials written by Igal Brener and published by Woodhead Publishing. This book was released on 2019-10-15 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dielectric Metamaterials: Fundamentals, Designs and Applications links fundamental Mie scattering theory with the latest dielectric metamaterial research, providing a valuable reference for new and experienced researchers in the field. The book begins with a historical, evolving overview of Mie scattering theory. Next, the authors describe how to apply Mie theory to analytically solve the scattering of electromagnetic waves by subwavelength particles. Later chapters focus on Mie resonator-based metamaterials, starting with microwaves where particles are much smaller than the free space wavelengths. In addition, several chapters focus on wave-front engineering using dielectric metasurfaces and the nonlinear optical effects, spontaneous emission manipulation, active devices, and 3D effective media using dielectric metamaterials. Highlights a crucial link in fundamental Mie scattering theory with the latest dielectric metamaterial research spanning materials, design and applications Includes coverage of wave-front engineering and 3D metamaterials Provides computational codes for calculating and simulating Mie resonances

Book The Baroque Double Bass Violone

Download or read book The Baroque Double Bass Violone written by Alfred Planyavsky and published by Scarecrow Press. This book was released on 1998-08-06 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the nineteenth century, use of the violone, a bass instrument with many sizes and variations, was nearly eliminated from musical repertoires, and its traditional parts were parceled out to other instruments such as the violoncello. The following phases of revival of the double-bass have been hampered by a lack of physical evidence and diligent research into the historical uses of the instrument. The Baroque Double Bass Violone is a comprehensive study that examines a cross-section of standard works to enhance contemporary violone research, and provide information for musicologists, music publishers, ensemble leaders, and revivalists, all of whom have been unable to reconstruct an essential part of Baroque music. This translation finally makes the most exhaustive study of the double bass violone accessible to English-speaking musical enthusiasts. The book includes lists of terminology, the most comprehensive bibliography to date, and 48 illustrations that make this a compendium of string bass research.
