Book Power System Load Frequency Control

Download or read book Power System Load Frequency Control written by Hassan A. Yousef and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-03-16 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This title presents a balanced blend between classical and intelligent load frequency control techniques, which is detrminant for continous supply of power loads. The classical control techniques introduced in this book include PID, pole placement, observer-based state feedback, static and dynamic output feedback controllers while the intelligent control techniques explained here are of adaptive fuzzy control types. This book will analyze and design different decentralized LF controllers in order to maintain the frequency deviations of each power area within the limits and keep the tie-line power flow between different power areas at the scheduled levels.

Book Fuzzy Logic Concepts in Power System Stability

Download or read book Fuzzy Logic Concepts in Power System Stability written by Neeraj Gupta and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2010-07-01 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The use of power system stabilizers has become very common in operation of large electric power systems. The conventional PSS which uses lead- lag compensation, where gain settings designed for specific operating conditions, is giving poor performance under different loading conditions. Therefore, it is very difficult to design a stabilizer that could present good performance in all operating points of electric power systems. In an attempt to cover a wide range of operating conditions, Fuzzy logic control has been suggested as a possible solution to overcome this problem, thereby using linguist information and avoiding a complex system mathematical model, while giving good performance under different operating conditions. Simulink Block Design and Matlab-7.5 is utilized in implementing the study. The performance of the system with fuzzy logic based power system stabilizer is compared with the system having conventional power system stabilizer and system without power system stabilizer.

Book Knowledge Based Systems Four Volume Set

Download or read book Knowledge Based Systems Four Volume Set written by Cornelius T. Leondes and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2000-07-11 with total page 1554 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The design of knowledge systems is finding myriad applications from corporate databases to general decision support in areas as diverse as engineering, manufacturing and other industrial processes, medicine, business, and economics. In engineering, for example, knowledge bases can be utilized for reliable electric power system operation. In medicine they support complex diagnoses, while in business they inform the process of strategic planning. Programmed securities trading and the defeat of chess champion Kasparov by IBM's Big Blue are two familiar examples of dedicated knowledge bases in combination with an expert system for decision-making. With volumes covering "Implementation," "Optimization," "Computer Techniques," and "Systems and Applications," this comprehensive set constitutes a unique reference source for students, practitioners, and researchers in computer science, engineering, and the broad range of applications areas for knowledge-based systems.

Book Eighth International Work Conference on Artificial and Natural Neural Networks

Download or read book Eighth International Work Conference on Artificial and Natural Neural Networks written by Joan Cabestany and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-05-30 with total page 1282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present in this volume the collection of finally accepted papers of the eighth edition of the “IWANN” conference (“International Work-Conference on Artificial Neural Networks”). This biennial meeting focuses on the foundations, theory, models and applications of systems inspired by nature (neural networks, fuzzy logic and evolutionary systems). Since the first edition of IWANN in Granada (LNCS 540, 1991), the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) community, and the domain itself, have matured and evolved. Under the ANN banner we find a very heterogeneous scenario with a main interest and objective: to better understand nature and beings for the correct elaboration of theories, models and new algorithms. For scientists, engineers and professionals working in the area, this is a very good way to get solid and competitive applications. We are facing a real revolution with the emergence of embedded intelligence in many artificial systems (systems covering diverse fields: industry, domotics, leisure, healthcare, ... ). So we are convinced that an enormous amount of work must be, and should be, still done. Many pieces of the puzzle must be built and placed into their proper positions, offering us new and solid theories and models (necessary tools) for the application and praxis of these current paradigms. The above-mentioned concepts were the main reason for the subtitle of the IWANN 2005 edition: “Computational Intelligence and Bioinspired Systems.” The call for papers was launched several months ago, addressing the following topics: 1. Mathematical and theoretical methods in computational intelligence.
