Book Freemasonry and Catholicism An Exposition of the Cosmic Facts Underlying These Two Great Institutions as Determined by Occult Investigation Class

Download or read book Freemasonry and Catholicism An Exposition of the Cosmic Facts Underlying These Two Great Institutions as Determined by Occult Investigation Class written by Max Heindel and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-04-23 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Freemasonry and Catholicism: An Exposition of the Cosmic Facts Underlying These Two Great Institutions as Determined by Occult Investigation HE Rosicrucian Fellowship aims to educate and construct, to be charitable even to those from whom we differ, and never to vent the venom Of vitu peration, spite, or malice even upon those who seem deliberately determined to mislead. We revere the Catholic religion; it is as divine in its essence, as Mystic Masonry - both are rooted in hoary antiquity, both were born to further the aspiration Of the striv ing soul, and both have a message and a mission in the world not apparent upon the surface today, be cause man-made ceremonial as a scale has hidden the kernel Of divinity in each. It is the Obj ect Of the present articles to remove that scale and show the Cosmic purpose Of these two Great Organizations, which are so bitterly antagonistic to each other. We do not aim to reconcile them, however, for though they are both designed to further the emancipation Of the soul, their methods are difierent, and the attributes Of the soul fostered by one method will in deed be very different from the quality Of the soul nurtured in the other School. Therefore the strife must continue until the battle for the souls Of menhas been lost and won. The issue is not, however, the persistence Of the Masonic or Catholic institutions; but the outcome will determine the nature Of the training humanity will receive in the remaining Periods Of our evolution. We shall endeavor to show the cosmic root Of both Of these institutions, the pur pose Of each and the training which each will inau garate, if successful; also the nature Of the soul qual ity which may be expected to result from each method. The writer is not a Mason, and thus he is free to say what he knows without fear of violating obligations, but he is a Mason at heart, and there fore frankly opposed to Catholicism. Book excerpt: What is a good education? What is it for? To answer these questions, Stratford Caldecott shines a fresh light on the three arts of language, in a marvelous recasting of the Trivium whereby Grammar, Dialectic, and Rhetoric are explored as Remembering, Thinking, and Communicating. These are the foundational steps every student must take towards conversion of heart and mind, so that a Catholic Faith can be lived out in unabashed pursuit of the True, the Good, and the Beautiful. Beauty in the Word is a unique contribution to bringing these bountiful aspects of the Real back to the center of learning, where they rightfully belong. If your concern is for the true meaning of education for your children, here is the place to begin. "Those responsible for new initiatives in Catholic schooling have a chance to recreate the inner spirit of education and not just its outer frame. They will not easily find a programme more inspirational than the one presented here." - Aidan Nichols "Stratford Caldecott offers a rare combination of intelligence and profound vision, yet combines this with accessibility and luminous transparency." - Catherine Pickstock

Book Catholic Education

    Book Details:
  • Author : Kimberly Hahn
  • Publisher : Ignatius Press
  • Release : 2012-12-11
  • ISBN : 1681490730
  • Pages : 422 pages

Download or read book Catholic Education written by Kimberly Hahn and published by Ignatius Press. This book was released on 2012-12-11 with total page 422 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two experienced home schooling moms present a very thorough, balanced and practical guide to both the merits of home education, as well as the important ideas, resources and curriculums to home school. Hahn and Hasson cover all aspects - statistics supporting home schooling's excellence, the nitty-gritty of lesson plans, and hundreds of ways to keep the fun in (and boredom out) of learning. Most importantly, they offer compelling advice and inspiration for parents as they undertake their child's religious, moral and intellectual formation. This is a reliable guide for Catholic parents who want to stay close to the heart of the church in the schooling of their children. The authors demonstrate that home schooling is not a fringe movement on the Church's periphery, but it is squarely based on Catholic teachings drawn from Sacred Scripture, natural law, and the writings of saints and popes. Readers will find the right combination of secular and sacred, theoretical and practical. Whether you are looking for advice and encouragement, language resources, aids for teaching multiplication or phonics - or the Ten Commandments - this book is sure to be a very functional tool.
