Book America s Five Most Recent Fake Presidents and Why They Love the Lie

Download or read book America s Five Most Recent Fake Presidents and Why They Love the Lie written by Dowling G. Campbell PH.D. and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2023-05-02 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Freedom and democracy have been competing with tyranny and greed since mankind arrived. During both World Wars, America led in the sacrifice of our soldiers and resources. Ever since, American freedom has been seriously deteriorating. My book America's Most Recent Five Fake Presidents and Why They Love the Lie is an attempt to help restore old-fashion intelligence, graciousness, along with freedom and democracy. These five fake presidents--Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump--have all deliberately damaged freedom, intelligence, and liberty almost beyond repair. The first four either started or exacerbated wars and are responsible for the untold deaths of American troops, among others. In addition, each created a trove of lies that conservatives have been hiding for years. The fifth, Donald Trump, has built a web of lies that has captured and killed the truth of freedom for a frighteningly large number of Americans, including a number of conservative politicians. In contrast, the intervening Democratic presidents have been able to stop the wars started by these Republican presidents and, in many cases, even restored some much-needed financial assistance to those who need it most. One of the numerous illustrations is the fact that Bill Clinton, in addition to bringing the Bosnia War to an end, balanced the budget four times in eight years and left millions of surplus dollars, which Bush 2 squandered away in his first six months, with Republican praise.

Book Trump The Art of the Deal

Download or read book Trump The Art of the Deal written by Donald J. Trump and published by Ballantine Books. This book was released on 2009-12-23 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: President Donald J. Trump lays out his professional and personal worldview in this classic work—a firsthand account of the rise of America’s foremost deal-maker. “I like thinking big. I always have. To me it’s very simple: If you’re going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big.”—Donald J. Trump Here is Trump in action—how he runs his organization and how he runs his life—as he meets the people he needs to meet, chats with family and friends, clashes with enemies, and challenges conventional thinking. But even a maverick plays by rules, and Trump has formulated time-tested guidelines for success. He isolates the common elements in his greatest accomplishments; he shatters myths; he names names, spells out the zeros, and fully reveals the deal-maker’s art. And throughout, Trump talks—really talks—about how he does it. Trump: The Art of the Deal is an unguarded look at the mind of a brilliant entrepreneur—the ultimate read for anyone interested in the man behind the spotlight. Praise for Trump: The Art of the Deal “Trump makes one believe for a moment in the American dream again.”—The New York Times “Donald Trump is a deal maker. He is a deal maker the way lions are carnivores and water is wet.”—Chicago Tribune “Fascinating . . . wholly absorbing . . . conveys Trump’s larger-than-life demeanor so vibrantly that the reader’s attention is instantly and fully claimed.”—Boston Herald “A chatty, generous, chutzpa-filled autobiography.”—New York Post

Book Lying in State

Download or read book Lying in State written by Eric Alterman and published by Basic Books. This book was released on 2020-08-11 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This definitive history of presidential lying reveals how our standards for truthfulness have eroded -- and why Trump's lies are especially dangerous. If there's one thing we know about Donald Trump, it's that he lies. But he's by no means the first president to do so. In Lying in State, Eric Alterman asks how we ended up with such a pathologically dishonest commander in chief, showing that, from early on, the United States has persistently expanded its power and hegemony on the basis of presidential lies. He also reveals the cumulative effect of this deception-each lie a president tells makes it more acceptable for subsequent presidents to lie-and the media's complicity in spreading misinformation. Donald Trump, then, represents not an aberration but the culmination of an age-old trend. Full of vivid historical examples and trenchant analysis, Lying in State is essential reading for anyone seeking to understand how we arrived in this age of alternative facts.

Book The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump

Download or read book The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump written by Bandy X. Lee and published by Thomas Dunne Books. This book was released on 2019-03-19 with total page 382 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As this bestseller predicted, Trump has only grown more erratic and dangerous as the pressures on him mount. This new edition includes new essays bringing the book up to date—because this is still not normal. Originally released in fall 2017, The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump was a runaway bestseller. Alarmed Americans and international onlookers wanted to know: What is wrong with him? That question still plagues us. The Trump administration has proven as chaotic and destructive as its opponents feared, and the man at the center of it all remains a cipher. Constrained by the APA’s “Goldwater rule,” which inhibits mental health professionals from diagnosing public figures they have not personally examined, many of those qualified to weigh in on the issue have shied away from discussing it at all. The public has thus been left to wonder whether he is mad, bad, or both. The prestigious mental health experts who have contributed to the revised and updated version of The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump argue that their moral and civic "duty to warn" supersedes professional neutrality. Whatever affects him, affects the nation: From the trauma people have experienced under the Trump administration to the cult-like characteristics of his followers, he has created unprecedented mental health consequences across our nation and beyond. With eight new essays (about one hundred pages of new material), this edition will cover the dangerous ramifications of Trump's unnatural state. It’s not all in our heads. It’s in his.

Book Gaslighting America

Download or read book Gaslighting America written by Amanda Carpenter and published by HarperCollins. This book was released on 2018-05-01 with total page 291 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A CNN contributor, former Ted Cruz staffer, and "Never Trump" adherent reveals a shocking truth: Donald Trump’s lies and fabrications don’t horrify America—they enthrall us—and explains how we can avoid falling for them. "Can you believe what Donald Trump said?" In Gaslighting America, Carpenter breaks down Trump’s formula, showing why it’s practically foolproof, playing his victims, the media, the Democrats, and the Republican fence-sitters perfectly. She traces how this tactic started with Nixon, gained traction with Bill Clinton, and exploded under Trump. If you think Trump is driving you crazy, it’s because he is. Now, in this urgent book, she explains how to withstand the fire. Where some people see lies, Trump’s fierce followers see something different. A commitment to winning at all costs; there is nothing he could say that would erode their support at long as it’s in the name of taking down his political enemies. His opponents on the left and right continue to act as if his fake narratives and conspiracy theories will bring him down, when in fact, they are the ruses that raised him up. As a conservative former staffer to a competing presidential campaign, Amanda Carpenter witnessed her fellow Republicans fall in line behind Trump. As a political commentator, she was publicly smeared by one of his supporters on live television without a shred of evidence supporting the allegations. Slowly, she watched her entire party succumb to Trump and become defenders of his tactics, and Gaslighting America may be the only hope to bring them back to reality.

Book The 21 Biggest Lies about Donald Trump and you

Download or read book The 21 Biggest Lies about Donald Trump and you written by Kurt Schlichter and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2020-07-07 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Has any president been more unjustly vilified than Donald Trump? Yes, he’s brash. Yes, he has an ego. Yes, his ad-libbing sometimes gets him into trouble. But the fact is Donald Trump is the most effective conservative president in decades. That’s why the media hate him. That’s why they lie about him. And there’s something else. When they lie about him, they’re really lying about you, because to the media, anyone who supports Donald Trump is deplorable. But here, at last, is the counterpunch we’ve been waiting for. Columnist and bestselling author Kurt Schlichter provides a fact-filled—and frequently hilarious—takedown of some of the media’s most pernicious lies about the president. In The 21 Biggest Lies about Donald Trump (and you!), you’ll learn: Why liberals cry “racism” at any argument they don’t like—when the real racists of American history have all been the Democrats How Trump “the warmonger” has actually given America a more realistic—and safer—foreign policy than any of his immediate predecessors Why the media refuses to understand the difference between legal and illegal immigrants (here’s a clue: Trump’s mother was a legal immigrant—and so is his wife) Why Trump and his supporters are infinitely more intelligent than a media that have gotten every major story of the Trump presidency wrong Trump’s great virtues (that too many Republicans lack): realism, courage, common sense, and an unapologetic determination to win conservative victories Tired of media and leftwing lies about Donald Trump? Then you’ll love this book.

Book excerpt: In 2010, Attitudes Aren't Free: Thinking Deeply About Diversity in the US Armed Forces was published. In 2017, it was placed on the Air Force Chief of Staff's Reading List. Now, more than a decade later, with tens of thousands of copies in circulation across government, industry and academia, it has become celebrated as a model for engaging in critical discussions on social policy topics that span the spectrum of perspectives on religious expression, race, gender and sexuality with contributions from the brightest voices within the US. Since publication, the long-standing debates have continued on the proper role of religious expression within military units. We have seen increasing levels of racial and gender diversity in the senior leadership ranks. "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" was repealed by Congress. Transgender military members have since been allowed to serve openly. Today, we continue to engage the traditional ongoing dialogues but with a new focus on the #MeToo and #BlackLivesMatter movements within society that have ultimately resulted in the transition of power between the 45th and 46th Presidents of the United States. Tomorrow's leaders must not only understand the changing landscape of societal attitudes of the citizens in which they serve, the mandates of our elected leaders that will serve as the Commander-in-Chief of the US Armed Services, but also to best prepare to lead the men and women of the armed services in the most effective manner possible. Volume I of tAtitudes Aren't Free: Thinking Deeply About Diversity in the Armed Forces (2010) offered a framework for improving social policy in the areas of religious expression, sexuality, race and gender by showcasing the complexity through the use of opposing perspectives. Volume II reflects on the progress made over the decade since, but instead of laying the groundwork of a plurality of perspective as in Volume I, Volume II relies on the realities of the national, institutional and personal levels using service members' lived experiences to develop a more robust understanding of life in the military for individuals from increasingly more diverse backgrounds. Ultimately, though reflective dialogue, Volume II seeks to explore and contrast the current social policies of the US Armed Services with the rhetoric that military institutions continue to espouse around the same topical areas addressed in the first volume. This is a Call to Action.

Book excerpt: Go deep inside Donald Trump's "very, very large brain" for a tongue-in-cheek look at the events that shaped his Presidency, from his bromance with Kim Jong Un to Trump single-handedly saving the U.S. Armed Forces from ruin by ordering more bullets. This humorous and fictional "unauthorized autobiography" sheds behind-the-scenes light on these and other seminal events from his chaotic term as Dotard-in-Chief, as his BFF Kim calls him in the love letters they share.Read about Trump's views on KellyAnne Conway: I like KellyAnne. She's got long blonde hair and a trim body, and from a distance she looks really hot. Then when she gets close, it's like the disappointment you felt after waiting three years for "The Empire Strikes Back." You're glad you saw it, but it's not worth seeing again. When Kellyanne starts talking, I have a bad habit of tuning her out and imagining her standing sixty feet away from me, walking in the other direction. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Although with KellyAnne, it's the second impression that hurts more.On Winning: After my unbelievable landslide victory, the Democrats comforted themselves with the knowledge that Hillary Clinton had won the popular vote. That's what you call a moral victory. Moral victories are for losers. Give me an immoral victory any day of the week. I cheated on all of my wives. Each time they dumped me I married someone hotter and younger. Win. I cheated to get out of going to Viet Nam, and now I'm Commander-in-Chief. Win. I cheat at golf so much the caddies call me Pele because I love to kick my ball out of the rough. Win. I cheat on my taxes over and over. Only losers pay taxes. And I'm not a loser. Just ask Hillary. On evangelicals: I lie, cheat, steal, bully, threaten, curse, call women terrible names and make fun of their looks, rip babies from the arms of their mothers, lock up children, make racist statements, demonize all Muslims, cozy up to dictators and undermine our national security on a daily basis, and those people couldn't care less. As long as I rail against abortion and brown-skinned foreigners and appoint conservative judges, they'll support anything I do, regardless of how many porn stars I bang or women I assault. I've turned the Moral Majority into the Moral Equivalency. On lying: My goal is to get to 20,000 lies before the end of my first term. As I told those Boy Scouts that day, you can achieve anything when you put your mind to it. I'm going to set the record so big no one will ever top it. Future presidents won't even try to break my record because they'll know it's impossible. It will be the signature achievement of my administration. I want it etched on my tombstone: "Here lies Donald Trump, the lyingest President in United States history." Then I'll have them bury my body in an unmarked grave somewhere else so even my headstone will be a lie.On his relationship with Kim Jong Un: I had never received a love letter from a man before. But Kim Jong Un is not just any man. He's a round mound of repression. A not-so-lean killing machine. The dictator you love to hate. The contestant I could never fire. He gets me. The first letter arrived on Valentine's Day. It came in a big pink envelope with beautiful writing on the outside, addressed to Dotard-in-Chief. I knew right away who sent it. Kim. My BFF.On natural disasters: As President, one of my most difficult jobs is comforting victims of natural disasters. These poor saps have lived through devastating tornadoes or wildfires or hurricanes and lost their homes, cars and boats, all the things we need. They're vulnerable and frightened and need comfort, compassion, empathy, love--all the things I'm good at. They also need paper towels.Read about Trump's takes on other topics, including the media, how to ask foreign leaders for favors, church and the different phases of the President's annual physical exam(s).

Book Post Truth Geographies

Download or read book Post Truth Geographies written by Barney Warf and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2023-09-05 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the geographical dimensions and implications of the post-truth era. Opening with a defense of the Enlightenment and the continued significance of science, objectivity, and truth, it then provides three key perspectives on the concept: The first is a philosophical analysis of post-truth. Social theory in various forms has sutured knowledge and power, in the process relativizing the nature of truth. This process reaches its apogee under post-modernism, which questions the very nature of truth itself. The second is the examination of the historical origins and development of the post-truth world. While post-truth has a history that can be traced back to the 18th and 19th centuries, more recently it has growth prolifically through the use of social media. The book examines post-truth as it appears in the yellow journalism of the Hearst newspapers, Holocaust denial, and contemporary attacks on science itself (e.g., the anti-vaccine movement, denial of evolution). Post-truth becomes a central issue in Western politics following Brexit and the election of Donald Trump, who uses it frequently to advance a reactionary political agenda. Russian hackers weaponize it to interfere in the politics of Europe and the U.S. Fox News and other right-wing outlets also play a central role. One result is the proliferation of unfounded conspiracy theories such as QAnon. Today, autocrats and dictators the world over use fake news to maintain their power. Finally, this book links the rise of a post-truth society to the dynamics of contemporary economic geography. Knowledge-intensive capitalism has greatly elevated the significance of symbolic workers or the creative class. Geographically, contemporary capitalism has accentuated the agglomeration of producer services in large urban areas in which such workers labor. Conversely, rural areas and small towns have largely become repositories of the undereducated, and thus are more susceptible to fake news.

Book 37 Lies and Counting of President Donald J Trump

This book was released on 2017-11-20 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Never before in American history has there been such a revealing book about a United States president, because never before has there been any one person who went through the combination of unique experiences, situations, and close contact that author William George Houraney had with Donald Trump. At no other time has anyone ever been exposed to the unbelievable occurrences that George Houraney and his wife of eighteen years experienced that were so shocking it caught them completely off guard. Additionally, never before has there been any one person who could have written such a book about his experiences with a future U.S. president. At the time, George did not realize that many would question what he wrote, since it would be his word against that of a billionaire president. However, this all changed once Trump became president and his actions would come to corroborate what is recorded here. Although many others have written about Donald J. Trump, no one ever experienced firsthand what William George Houraney did. From sexual advances toward his wife, to broken promises made to delegates from over thirty countries, to terrible business decisions, to lying while under oath in federal court, George Houraney was able to expose the truth about a man who lives only for himself-and was able to deceive the American public like no other politician in this country's history. The accuracy of what is written here took hundreds of hours verify. George Houraney has taken every effort to ensure that his fellow Americans have the facts that affect them and their families . . . facts that prove Donald J. Trump lied repeatedly to the American people. Like he does with anything that does not paint him in a good light, Donald Trump will do all he can to discredit this book and what is written herein. Although he may try to bend the truth, he cannot change it-for everything written in this book is undeniably the truth.

Download or read book Rage written by Bob Woodward and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2020-09-15 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rage is an unprecedented and intimate tour de force of new reporting on the Trump presidency facing a global pandemic, economic disaster and racial unrest. Woodward, the #1 international bestselling author of Fear: Trump in the White House, has uncovered the precise moment the president was warned that the Covid-19 epidemic would be the biggest national security threat to his presidency. In dramatic detail, Woodward takes readers into the Oval Office as Trump’s head pops up when he is told in January 2020 that the pandemic could reach the scale of the 1918 Spanish Flu that killed 675,000 Americans. In 17 on-the-record interviews with Woodward over seven volatile months—an utterly vivid window into Trump’s mind—the president provides a self-portrait that is part denial and part combative interchange mixed with surprising moments of doubt as he glimpses the perils in the presidency and what he calls the “dynamite behind every door.” At key decision points, Rage shows how Trump’s responses to the crises of 2020 were rooted in the instincts, habits and style he developed during his first three years as president. Revisiting the earliest days of the Trump presidency, Rage reveals how Secretary of Defense James Mattis, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats struggled to keep the country safe as the president dismantled any semblance of collegial national security decision making. Rage draws from hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand witnesses as well as participants’ notes, emails, diaries, calendars and confidential documents. Woodward obtained 25 never-seen personal letters exchanged between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who describes the bond between the two leaders as out of a “fantasy film.” Trump insists to Woodward he will triumph over Covid-19 and the economic calamity. “Don’t worry about it, Bob. Okay?” Trump told the author in July. “Don’t worry about it. We’ll get to do another book. You’ll find I was right.”
