Book Corporate Strategy Remastered II

Download or read book Corporate Strategy Remastered II written by Paul Hunter and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-07-14 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the onset of the Fourth Industrial Revolution numerous corporations have found that traditional ‘strategic planning’ is ineffectual in responding to, or capitalising on, unforeseen or unexpected change. In recognition of this and associated symptoms of inertia, bankruptcy or worse, this fieldbook was written for the purpose of guiding strategy practitioners through their intended or unintended journey into the future by providing meaningful strategy practices that enable responses to disruption and more importantly, better strategy practices overall. With a focus on strategy practice (‘doing’ strategy), this book represents a ‘how-to’ of Third Wave Strategy as defined in detail in the introductory book Corporate Strategy (Remastered) I. In addition to a description of methods that contribute to the philosophy of Third Wave Strategy, readers will witness the experiences of a virtual illustrative company that is travailing the same journey of organisational transformation and renewal that the methodologies described in this book also seek to address. The overall value of the book, therefore, is its ability to relate theory to practice in a factual and experiential format. A key part of the use of the virtual case study based on the illustrative Third Wave Industries (T-wI) Corporation is the blending of the system and process mechanisms that are a part of Third Wave Strategy and its framework, the strategy tools and techniques that are drawn from new and existing strategy practice and the soft issues that are represented by the human responses to change, as well as the management of change enacted in a corporate environment.

Book Building English Vocabulary with Etymology from Latin Book II

Download or read book Building English Vocabulary with Etymology from Latin Book II written by Peter Beaven and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-05-04 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Etymology is the study of word origins and development. It provides one of the easiest and most effective ways to build vocabulary, because knowledge of some common roots and prefixes makes possible the figuring out of new word meanings. English is compounded of several languages, primarily Anglo-Saxon (Germanic) and Latin. Their Latin influence persists notably in the names of English cities ending in "-caster" or "-chester," from the Latin "castra" meaning "encampment." This is the second book of a series that focuses on etymology from Latin and Greek. The texts are designed to aid in learning the definitions of specific, deconstructed words. The meanings of a series of "reusable" classical prefixes and roots are presented that facilitate the deciphering of multiple related words.

Book Consciousness Based Leadership and Management Volume 2

Download or read book Consciousness Based Leadership and Management Volume 2 written by Anil K. Maheshwari and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-08-17 with total page 409 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This two-volume set examines the need for a consciousness-based view of leadership, which emphasizes universal human flourishing, as opposed to a resource-based view, which focuses on sustaining a competitive advantage. This approach is built around three main principles: 1) Paradigm (Consciousness is primary, including complementary existence of opposites), 2) Social/Interpersonal (focusing on empathy and compassion), and 3) Individual (experiencing Oneness and expressing creativity). Volume Two is divided into two sections. Each section offers a mix of qualitative and quantitative studies. The first section focuses on consciousness-based development of organizational capabilities such as ambidexterity, flow, and work-life balance. The second section is focused on organizational interventions such as reinvention, meaning-making, well-being, and sustainability. Aligning leadership practices with the notion of an unbounded consciousness, this edited collection will extend literature on organizational culture, leadership, and sustainability, contributing to solving the grand challenges facing humanity.

Book Ferroelectric Ceramics

Download or read book Ferroelectric Ceramics written by Setter and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 382 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the fascinating aspects of the field of ferroelectric ceramics is its interdisciplinary nature. This aspect is also a source of difficulty for the people working in the field. In a successful team of ferroelectricians the physics theoretician must understand the sintering technologist, the electrical engineer has to communicate with the crystallographer, the organic chemist will interact with the microelectronics engineer, the electron microscopist should collaborate with the systems engineer. It was the purpose of the summer school on ferroelectric ceramics that took place at the Centro Stefano Franscini (ETHZ), Monte VeritA, Ascona, Switzerland, in September 1991 to help to build bridges between people from the different disciplines and to draw for them, in the form of tutorial lectures, some of the different facets of ferroelectrics. The book is a written version of this summer school. It contains the following subjects: ferroelectric materials, physics of ferroelectrics, thin films, processing of ferroelectrics and their applications. It represents a cross section of topics of current interest. Materials are presented (L. E. Cross) from the point of view of the user, i. e. the tailoring of materials for specific applications. Two reviews address the important topic of ferroelectric domains and domain walls (I. Fousek and H. Schmid). In the part devoted to theory, three subjects of current interest are presented: phase transition in thin films (D. R. Tilley), weak ferroelectrics (A. K. Tagantsev) and dielectric losses (A. K. Tagantsev).

Book Facets of Behaviormetrics

Download or read book Facets of Behaviormetrics written by Akinori Okada and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-09-17 with total page 335 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edited book is the first one written in English that deals comprehensively with behavior metrics. The term “behaviormetrics” comprehends the research including all sorts of quantitative approaches to disclose human behavior. Researchers in behavior metrics have developed, extended, and improved methods such as multivariate statistical analysis, survey methods, cluster analysis, machine learning, multidimensional scaling, corresponding analysis or quantification theory, network analysis, clustering, factor analysis, test theory, and related factors. In the spirit of behavior metrics, researchers applied these methods to data obtained by surveys, experiments, or websites from a diverse range of fields. The purpose of this book is twofold. One is to represent studies that display how the basic elements of behavior metrics have developed into present-day behavior metrics. The other is to represent studies performed mainly by those who would like to pioneer new fields of behavior metrics and studies that display elements of future behavior metrics. These studies consist of various characteristics such as those dealing with theoretical or conceptual subjects, the algorithm, the model, the method, and the application to a wide variety of fields. This book helps readers to understand the present and future of behavior metrics.
