The call to stop genocide is often presented as the paramount moral obligation in contemporary global politics. The 'Never Again' refrain and the consistent references to the ethical value of Responsibility to Protect genocide stand as calls for urgent political mobilisation. Taking a look at the internet blackouts, the militarisation of towns and cities all across Southern Cameroons (Ambazonia), the indiscriminate torching of hundreds of villages, schools and health centres, the rampant gang rape of females by HIV-infected troops, mass killings of civilians, burning of innocent civilians in their sleep, disembowelling pregnant women and slaughtering them and their unborn babies, arbitrary arrests and detentions, dehumanising raids of residential areas in search of "Anglophones", mindless torture, extortions, and looting by La Rpublique du Cameroun troops, the genocide and extermination were well planned in advance. Professor Tatah Mentan argues that the bloodbath was designed with a clear kinetic theological foundation as its centrepiece. The theologians of the genocide were ironically not clerics. They were rather journalists and sycophantic pro-regime intellectuals who apparently served as the echo chamber of the Biya genocidal regime for his Hitler-like "Final Solution" to crush and assimilate "Anglophones" - the "rats", "cockroaches", "secessionists", "separatists", or "microbes" as they were stigmatised. The suffering inflicted by Hitler on Jews fell outside the realm of expression. Often depicted as the savage lunatic who plunged the world into World War II, Adolf Hitler's name has been on the tongues of historians, psychologists, economists, and laymen for ages. Similarly, President Paul Biya like Hitler the Monster is being depicted as the epitome of Lucifer himself. Finally, Professor Tatah Mentan concludes that the pandemic genocide and extermination of Ambazonians by La Rpublique du Cameroun gnocidaires can only be peacefully resolved by an internationally negotiated separation of both warring Former UN Category B Trust Territories.

This approach provides a new road map tracing the connections between journalists, their sources, the stories they cover and the consequences of their reporting-the ethics of journalistic intervention to play a role in global peace rather than fuelling conflicts.

The majority of the African countries are members of overlapping and, sometimes, contradictory RECs. For instance, in East Africa, while Kenya and Uganda are both members of EAC and COMESA, Tanzania, which is also a member of the EAC, left COMESA in 2001 to join SADC. In West Africa, while all former French colonies belong to ECOWAS, they simultaneously keep membership of UEMOA, an organization which is not recognized by the African Union (AU). Such multiple and confusing memberships create unnecessary duplication and dims the light on what ought to be priority. Various chapters in this book have therefore sought to identify and proffer solutions to related challenges confronting the workings of the RECs in different sub-regions of the African continent. The discourses range from security to the stock exchange, identity integration, development framework, labour movement and cross-border relations. The pattern adopted in the book involves devolution of related discussions from the general to the specific; that is, from the continental level to sub-regional case studies.

Africa is not a poor continent, and not all Africans are poor. Yet Africa is depicted as the world's poorest continent, where the majority of people live with no access to clean water, decent health care, education and electricity, and struggle to survive in the face of high levels of unemployment, poverty and inequality. This is the reality we see all around the continent. The reason, according to Professor Tatah Mentan, is that extractive foreign industries and the competition to access natural resources envelop parasitic African governments in a web of unaccountability, corruption, repression, and rent- seeking. The love affair between many African governments and international corporations--and the optimistic power of the "Africa rising" narrative--are obscuring harsh realities, namely that many Africans are deprived of benefiting from the exploitation of their own natural resources. In many of these high growth countries, citizens now believe, that they are paying too high a price for economic growth, which does not trickle down to them. And past relations between extractive imperialists and puppet African governments are under scrutiny. This book dissects the dynamics of the politics of natural resource extraction in Africa that resolves into a matter of class struggle. This class struggle is visible at the level of combatting the workings of capitalism and imperialism in the interest of the dominant international class of corporatocrats and its African parasitic class, and simultaneously mobilizing forces against those exploitative and oppressive interests.
