But this does not mean that these are the last things to learn. It is my belief that learning the digital communications (Packet, WinLink, and FlDigi) as soon as possible. Digital communication is the future of radio communications. There are ARES organizations that have made WinLink as their major communications mode of operations. But in order to logically progress to these skill your station need to be assembled, you get some "air time" under your belt, you learn how to be a worker bee, develop some hidden knowledge that is developed only through "air time", develop some leadership skills, then finish with more advanced hardware for your station.
