  • Author : James H. Street
  • Publisher : eNet Press

Download or read book The High Calling written by James H. Street and published by eNet Press. This book was released on 2014-10-03 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Baptist preacher, London Wingo, first introduced in The Gauntlet, returns to Linden, Missouri after a twenty year absence to face what is to be the greatest crisis in his ministerial and parental career. London and his wife, Kathie, had built a church in Linden, Missouri where they faced the trials and triumphs of a first ministry. When Kathie died, however, London accepted a position in Kansas City, and departed abruptly with his his baby daughter. London left Linden as a young widower ― stunned, helpless and alone ― but returns as man in his prime ― successful, passionate about his calling, and the loving father of a beloved, spirited daughter ― ready to leave the big leagues for the minors and address the sorrows he left behind. London looks forward to the challenge of organizing a new church and to writing a biography of Roger Williams, a project he has been planning for years. But, most of all, he believes in the mystic properties of farms and small towns and hopes that his daughter, a free soul who doesn't quite fit anywhere, will discover a way to find herself. London succeeds at first in quieting the dissident elements in his ministry by placing the critics in important positions in the church hierarchy. But Paige becomes interested in Vance Andrews who is engaged to the daughter of one of London's most powerful enemies and London fears trouble is ahead. As London faces this crisis, his faith is bulwarked by a woman who encourages and helps him with his parish problems ― Forrest Roberts, a woman of understanding and keen awareness; a woman who sparks the promise of new love. The High Calling is a warm, moving novel which, through its insights into the career of a Baptist preacher, succeeds in many ways to do for the Protestant minister what The Cardinal did for the Catholic priest. Yet perhaps this exciting, dramatic sequel to The Gauntlet is most distinguished for its portrayal of London Wingo, who comes through as a very human, sympathetic character, more mature and wiser than in his younger days.

This is old knowledge that is currently being rediscovered by modern science. Whitetails rely on three primary sensory systems for survival-auditory, visual and olfactory. Therefore, they can be tricked on any of these levels. The main objective of any form of calling is to manipulate a deer to approach within comfortable shooting distance. This book offers techniques and tactics for luring in whitetails. It illustrates how to fool all three senses of the whitetail.

Book Ask The Sales Coach Practical Answers to the Questions Sales People Ask Most

Download or read book Ask The Sales Coach Practical Answers to the Questions Sales People Ask Most written by Susan A. Enns and published by B2B Sales Connections Inc.. This book was released on 2019-02-20 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contrary to the popular belief, sales people don’t rely on “the gift of the gab” to be successful. Actually, the opposite is true. The best sales professionals spend far more time asking and listening than they do talking and selling. They ask questions of their customers; they ask questions of their colleagues, and they ask questions of their managers. If Oxford defines curiosity as the strong desire to know or learn something, then by that definition, sales people are curious by nature. In fact, that’s how sales professionals learn to be professional in the first place. This is a collection of practical answers to questions sales people ask most. Written by Susan A. Enns, a professional sales coach with a proven track record of sales excellence over her 30 plus year career. Her accomplishments include consecutively being the top sales rep in Canada, managing the top sales branch, and achieving outstanding sales growth in a national channel sales organization. She has written several books about sales and sales management and has created numerous automated sales tools. Her work has been published in several locations numerous times and has sold on five separate continents. As such, over the years, Susan has been asked many questions by many sales people. After a while, she saw that sales people, regardless of their experience, the products they sell, the industries in which they operate, or the countries where they sell, all share similar curiosities. In other words, although the wording may be different when asked in an email or when asked in person, sales people all ask the same questions, the most common of which are answered in this ebook. As the old saying goes, the only stupid questions are the ones unasked. As a sales professional, you should never be afraid to “Ask the Sales Coach” because you will learn so much from the answers! - "Susan really knows the selling world. She's honest, articulate, bright, giving, highly competent, personable and a top professional. Welcome her. It's the right thing to do." - "Our company hired Susan as our sales coach. She has helped me make more appointments, close more deals and make more money. The 3 most important concepts in sales. I would recommend any sales force hire her to help boost business sales". - "Susan ...understands the sales process intimately and is able to create a management process around it that drives sales people to accomplish their goals." - "Susan knows her stuff. She brings many years of great sales experience and success to anyone who wished to improve their skills in sales. She is very personable, and is not afraid to tell it like it is. I would recommend anyone (and I have) to Susan, her website, her books if you want to become a better sales person." - “Thanks for the training… I made my quota this year in May!”

Book Discerning Your Call to Ministry

Download or read book Discerning Your Call to Ministry written by Jason K. Allen and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2016-08-19 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The church has needed this book for a long time.” — Russell Moore If you are considering the ministry, there are two mistakes to avoid. The first is taking up a calling that isn’t yours. The second is neglecting one that is. Discerning Your Call to Ministry will help you know the difference. A tool for seminary students, pastors-in-training, and even current pastors, it serves to confirm or prompt deep thought about the calling to ministry through 10 probing questions, including: Do you desire the ministry? Does your church affirm your calling? Do you love the people of God? Are you willing to surrender? Pastoral dropout rates are high, and seminary admission rates are declining—signs that many of us don’t quite know what we’re signing ourselves up for. Author Jason Allen, a former pastor and the president of North America’s fastest growing seminary, gives readers a better picture of the calling. Presenting a series of diagnostic questions informed by Scripture, church history, and his own experience, he helps those seeking ordination or ministry positions make confident decisions about their service to God, one way or the other.

Book Let God Use You to Solve Your PROBLEMS

Download or read book Let God Use You to Solve Your PROBLEMS written by Edward D. Andrews and published by Christian Publishing House. This book was released on 2018-03-22 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a world fraught with challenges and uncertainty, faith remains our most enduring beacon of hope. "Let God Use You to Solve Your Problems: God Will Instruct You and Teach You in the Way You Should Go" offers a unique exploration of how a steadfast reliance on God's wisdom, coupled with an active role in our own spiritual development, can serve as a roadmap to navigating life's complexities. This book provides an enlightening journey into a deeper understanding of God's role in our lives, not as a miracle worker performing supernatural acts on demand, but as a divine guide illuminating our path through the teachings of Scripture and personal experiences. It shows how, by letting go and trusting in God, we can find the strength, courage, and wisdom to confront and overcome our problems. The author, a conservative Bible scholar, encourages readers to actively engage with their faith, teaching how God instructs us through His Word, life experiences, and our own spiritual growth. Throughout the chapters, readers will learn the art of biblical discernment, nurturing spiritual growth, embracing patience in God's timing, and turning trials into triumphs through God's guidance. This book ultimately underscores the importance of personal responsibility in a faithful Christian life. It provides a nuanced and balanced understanding of faith that inspires action and involvement in our communities, allowing us to serve God and others while becoming reflections of God's love. “Let God Use You to Solve Your Problems” is more than a book; it's a spiritual guide for those seeking to blend trust in divine wisdom with personal initiative, creating a life that is not just endured but lived fully and meaningfully in God's light.
