Book excerpt: Inside, there has always been a sort of fiery flame that brought ecstasy yet sometimes agony. The ecstasy being that I was aware of my own gifts, and that soon the world would know the special things that I had and wanted to share. However, the agony was that the more time passed the more worried I had become for I felt time was running out. Time has always been against me in my eyes and this is why it's vital that I complete my book. Completion of this project lets me know that I'm using what God has given me to make an impact, that my mission has not been ignored. God is the source in which I pull all creativity from, He is with me through everything and I love Him very much. Not only because He's giving me blessings, but because He understands my weaknesses and because of that He has mercy on me. God is the true leader of my life, and He teaches me to be kind and gentle to any situation whether good or bad.

Book excerpt: Critically tests Mowinckel's hypothesis about the 'enthronement festival of Yahweh' and asks whether this theory finds any support in the epic literature of Ugarit. Petersen tests Sigmund Mowinckel's classical hypothesis about the enthronement festival of Yahweh and especially whether this theory, as urged by the followers of Mowinckel, finds any support in the epic literature of Ugarit. A careful study of the two corpora of texts, the Old Testament Psalms and the Ugaritic Baal-cycle, together with a discussion of the methodology of the cultic interpretation, shows the weaknesses of the hypothesis. In the history of scholarship, the idea of an enthronement festival of Marduk has been arbitrarily transferred from Babylon to Jerusalem and hence to Ugarit with little basis in the relevant texts. In fact, the method of 'cultic interpretation' is to be rejected, since its circularity of argumentation determines the result of the analysis beforehand.

Book An Approach to the Extension of a Theorem Prover by Advanced Structuring Mechanisms

Download or read book An Approach to the Extension of a Theorem Prover by Advanced Structuring Mechanisms written by Maksym Bortin and published by Logos Verlag Berlin GmbH. This book was released on 2010 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: General purpose theorem provers provide sophisticated proof methods, and become valuable tools in, e.g. formal software development. Of particular interest here are proof systems with the LCF architecture, developing large theories from a small logical kernel, because this approach simplifies the validation of derived results. On the other hand, such provers often lack some of advanced structuring mechanisms found in specification languages. This thesis firstly gives a formal foundation for a seamless extension of a logical framework by similar mechanisms, and secondly presents an elaborated case study in the LCF-style theorem prover Isabelle, employing the introduced concepts of morphisms and instantiation of theories in-the-large.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume offers eight approaches to myth, its uses and purposes, from viewing personal narrative as a form of healing myth to observing the atrocities committed daily arising from the most destructive form of myth. The authors of the eight chapters here note that myths have existed from the beginning of the human race in a myriad of forms and serving a myriad of functions. Indeed, the shared observation of these scholars is that humans have always been storytellers and always will be because myths are a part of the lives of every single person; they are the story of us.
