Book All Creatures Great Small

Download or read book All Creatures Great Small written by Linda Read and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2015-10-23 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All Creatures Great and Small is a collection of nine charming allegories set within the Creators forest. As each story unfolds, the happenings and mishaps of its furry and feathered characters illustrate each of the nine beatitudes of Jesus. All Creatures Great and Small seeks to paint a beautiful picture of all that believers might hope to be through following the teachings of Christ. Linda Read has a precious heart after the Lord. Her book on the beatitudes illustrates Jesuss core sermon with lovable characters in a way that children will understand. I pray that many parents will read this to their little ones and teach their children about Gods heart and His Kingdom from a very young age. In Mozambique, we have discipleship with the children each week and read stories about Gods love, power, and glory. Our children will be the world changers, walking in the legacy we pour into them and in even greater things than we have seen. We look forward to reading this story with our treasures and we hope that you will enjoy it as well. Heidi G. Baker, PhD Co-Founder and Director of Iris Global What an honor and joy it has been to read Lindas first childrens book! In the stories I could see the heart of God portrayed so beautifully through the lives of the animals. My prayer is that all the children, teens and adults who read Lindas book will have their eyes opened to the loving God who desires to have a relationship with us, just as He did with the animals in the stories. So, grab a tall glass of iced tea and enjoy a new perspective on the beatitudes. Carol Boening - Life-long friend and Director of AWANA, First Baptist Church, Yoakum, Texas As these animals live daily life in the forest, they teach lessons that both children and adults often face. These delightfully quirky animals handle many different scenarios in a Biblical and valuable way. This book is written in such a way that it will appeal to both children and adults. As Leah the eagle finds love, and Benjamin Beaver discovers the value of his spiritual presence in others lives, children learn how to handle difficult emotions, and discover their Christ-centered identity, and adults are reminded where true identity comes from. In reading this book to their children, parents will open up a world of possibility and discovery. It will also allow room for conversation and growth of relationship. Randy Turner - South Campus Pastor, Beltway Park Church, Abilene, Texas

Book excerpt: A seminal exploration of animal emotion, sentience, and cognition, revised and expanded to incorporate a surge of new science When award-winning scientist Marc Bekoff penned the first edition of this book in 2007, he predicted that over time our understanding of animal cognition and emotion would grow “richer, more accurate, and possibly different.” Since then, not only has the field seen an explosion of new and startling research, but the popular interest in the subject has grown as well, spawning countless podcasts, articles, and bestselling books. Bekoff skillfully blends extraordinary stories of animal joy, empathy, grief, embarrassment, anger, and love with the latest scientific research confirming the existence of emotions that common sense and experience have long implied. Book Another Finitude

    Book Details:
  • Author : Agata Bielik-Robson
  • Publisher : Bloomsbury Publishing
  • Release : 2019-05-30
  • ISBN : 1350094099
  • Pages : 274 pages

Download or read book Another Finitude written by Agata Bielik-Robson and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2019-05-30 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Beginning from the notion of finite life, Another Finitude takes this staple subject from post-Heideggerian philosophy and opposes it to the onto-theological concept of infinity, represented by an eternal absolute. Although critical of Heidegger and his definition of finitude as 'being-towards-death', this book does not revert to the ontological idea of infinity secured in the sacred image of immortality. But it also does not want to give up on infinity altogether; the infinite is transposed, so it can become a necessary moment of the finite life. A theological framework for the new elaboration of the concept of finitude is crucial; but instead of following the Lutheran formula, Agata Bielik-Robson turns to the sources of Judaism. Taking inspiration from the Jewish idea of torat hayim, the principle of finite life, which found the best expression in the biblical sentence: love strong as death; love emerges as the alternative marker of finitude, allowing to us redefine it in an affirmative way. By tracing the avatars of love in the group of 20th-century thinkers, or 'messianic vitalists'–Benjamin, Rosenzweig, Arendt, Derrida, and (deeply revised) Freud–the book attempts to demonstrate the possibility of such affirmation. Love becomes the new 'infinite-in-the-finite'; love in all its forms, from the original libidinal endowment of the human psyche to the last metamorphoses of agape, the Greco-Christian divine love.

Book Demons and Healing

Download or read book Demons and Healing written by Are Thoresen and published by Temple Lodge Publishing. This book was released on 2020-12-16 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘Genius is a rare commodity that few of us attain. I see the colour-magic painted by Van Gogh, hear the music-magic of Beethoven, imagine touching the exquisite bronze of Rodin’s Thinker. I revere their work but know that I can never create such beauty. So it is with Are’s psychic skills.’ – Phil Rogers, MRCVS, Dublin ‘Today we have forgotten all about demons and even about Christ. Both concepts have become anachronisms from olden times. That they are not anachronisms is illustrated in the discussions and examples given in this book.’ – Hans Kolstad, Dr.philos., MAS, Norway Are Thoresen perceives demons and other spiritual beings as clearly as we see each other. He sees the demons that cause disease as well as the beings associated with medicinal plants and other substances that can promote health. He has witnessed how demons of disease leave the bodies of the sick and enter the healthy, thus causing contagion. Through his therapeutic work, Thoresen has learned that one cannot simply ‘fight’ demons, as they will ‘translocate’ to other people or return later. The only effective way to counteract these malign entities is to dissolve them through the boundless love of the being of Christ. The author presents a lifetime’s knowledge – the fruit of more than half a century’s practical and clinical experience – in the pages of this book, offering a better understanding of health and disease. He recounts numerous personal experiences of demonic entities and explains how demons are created. Thoresen advises on the prevention of the demonic effects of natural and artificial radiation, and how we can defend and ultimately free ourselves from demonic influence. A fascinating Addendum describes the phenomenon of poltergeists and the spiritual beings related to various drugs. Demons and Healing is a singular work, written out of precise vision and knowledge of the spiritual entities that surround us in everyday life.
