On landing I was much struck with the complete absence of sanitary arrange ments in this city, and wonder how invalids can be tempted to reside there for health purposes. Mus tapha Superior, a short distance from Algiers, is well situated on the slope of a hill, with charming villas, well surrounded by verdure, and commanding a good view of the Bay.
