Notwithstanding Katz's seriality, the white coat appears mysterious and enigmatic within each composition. Book excerpt: Alex Katz (born 1927) is best known as a painter--specifically, as a painter of his family and his distinguished circle of friends, including poets, writers and artists. In the early 1950s, he began experimenting with printmaking, but it was not until the mid 1960s that he intensified his interest and production in the medium. Pushing at the limits of various printing techniques, Katz tested out pictorial ideas first conceived for his paintings, retaining planes of matte color but further simplifying his forms and dramatically cropping his images. These reduced compositions were wonderfully compatible with the graphic clarity of printmaking, and by effectively translating his paintings into prints, the artist achieved what he called the "final synthesis of painting." This publication provides insight into an often-neglected yet vital aspect of Katz's work, from the early 1950s to the present day.

We reach down into the well of misfortune and help pull a stranger upward and out so the sun hits our faces with the same degree of intensity and the future begins again and again until our Z endpoint arrives.The blessing from our Father is that we are here to understand the gimmickry of our existence and touch someone before this planet turns gray. It is an event that certainly will happen as our blue marble falls into our Sun. Maybe, one day in earth times and this may be billions of years, but for mankind life is too short to turn the page towards the beginning or our end point. Just as we arrive, the winter of our time disembark, and then at summers end and accelerates the skin side of us and as we vaporizes into dust of our elemental periodic table.Before my journey ends let my memory not fade away as I turn my recollections into copy and for a while, write these things I see within my deepest concourse to expose the deep well of my mystifying life. This begins my journey that is my poetry that PEN's to this tablet.
