Download or read book Barremian to Albian Stratigraphy Tuktoyaktuk Peninsula and South Mackenzie Delta Northwest Territories written by James Dixon and published by Geological Survey of Canada. This book was released on 1989 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Integration of data from reflection seismic, borehole geophysical logs, lithology, and foraminiferal biostratigraphy revealed the need to revise previous stratigraphic correlations of Barremian to Albian strata in the subsurface of the south Mackenzie Delta and in the vicinity of Parsons Lake, Northwest Territories.
Download or read book Lower Cretaceous Albian of the Yukon Stratigraphy and Foraminiferal Subdivisions Snake and Peel Rivers written by Eric W. Mountjoy and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Nine biostratigraphic subdivisions of the Albian sediments are established from assemblages of Foraminifera. The most significant of these are the late Middle Albian Valvulineria loetterlei - Gaudryina subcretacea and the Early Albian Saracenaria trollopei. They represent the strongest marine environments, are correlatable over most of the western and northern sedimentary basins, and are referable to the "Joli Fou" and "Clearwater" Seas respectively. Each of these provides a datum from which the remaining depositional intervals of the Albian stage can be interpreted." --

Download or read book Sedimentary Cover of the Craton in Canada written by D.F. Stott and published by Geological Society of America. This book was released on 1993 with total page 713 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The early chapters of the volume present data and interpretations of the geophysics of the craton and summarise, with sequential maps, the tectonic evolution of the craton. The main body of the text and accompanying plates and figures present the stratigraphy, structural history, and economic geology of specific sedimentary basins and regions. The volume concludes with a summary chapter in which the currently popular theories of cratonal tectonics are discussed and the unresolved questions are identified.

Download or read book Lower Cretaceous Fort St John Group and Upper Cretaceous Dunvegan Formation of the Foothills and Plains of Alberta British Columbia District of Mackenzie and Yukon Territory written by Donald F. Stott and published by . This book was released on 1982 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Fort St. John Group, one of the oldest recognized stratigraphic intervals in western Canada, has gained recent importance because of its substantial coal and hydrocarbon resources. Regional stratigraphic studies carried out between 1957 and 1971 form the basis for this report in which the paleogeography of a major part of the Lower Cretaceous succession of western Canada is described. The results of numerous petrologic studies are presented, the application of studies in clay mineralogy to the solution of stratigraphic problems is summarized and the facies variations and depositional environment of the widespread assemblage of clastic marine rocks are outlined." --
