This book was released on 2020-04-06 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Al Thaahir: The Evidence, the Outer, the Manifest is a reflection that summarises yet magnifies, that shines a light on what we tend to forget. It is a reminder of what we need to do to bring ourselves to be connected again with the Higher Power. It is here, in the now, that many are too distracted to feel this connection. But we are never far from what witness to us the presence of God. The manuscript was written in Arabic and German when Sahar was a student at the Goethe Institute in Cairo. Thirty years later the research by Sahar went from A4 stored paper into a published book. Al Thaahir: The Evidence, the Outer, the Manifest provides readers with the opportunity to develop or rekindle the loving relationship the Higher Power. Be remimded and Be empowered.

Book excerpt: Dying for a Drink is a true story of the chaos and hurt caused by an alcoholic. The author, telling her own story, writes of time spent in multiple rehabs, both in the United Kingdom and Sydney, Australia. She writes in the hope that her story will encourage other alcoholics and addicts (which can be anybody addicted to anything)—that they will see in their own stories the similarities rather than the differences. The memoir depicts her rapid decline after she crossed the ‘invisible line’ and shows how her loved ones were devastated by her behaviour—and how they lived in fear that this disease would lead to her death. It chronicles, too, her sense of freedom and surrender and hope amid the sobriety from which she is sharing her journey and the beginnings of relationships repaired, with both loved ones and self.

Over time however, as the races advanced and greed prevailed once more, the Chimera stone was forgot and disappeared. This left the Firebrand stone’s evil unchecked, and once more the world is ravaged by unremitting war. That was until a Mage, by the name of Pellagrin, and his followers took the Firebrand stone and split it into four, then hid the shards from the gaze of the power hungry. Seeking the shards is a dark wizard, called Kuelack, who craves dominion over the lands of Aymara. As the threat of war rears its head once more, a young boy called Aridain is born into the world. His task is to seek and destroy the stones and thus rid the land of their adverse influence. However, the gods have other plans and a dark champion is created; its mission is to restore the stones to power and kill the young Aridain.

Book Blades of Grass

Download or read book Blades of Grass written by Mark Aylwin Thomas and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2019-07-18 with total page 468 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: George Aylwin Hogg was a man of remarkable dedication and honour. Though he died in 1945 at the age of thirty, Aylwin’s name and legacy is remembered in China to this day—where as a wise and noble friend to the people of China, he immersed himself in the culture and life of the Chinese people whom he served in his mission. In Blades of Grass: The Story of George Aylwin Hogg, author and nephew of the late Mr Hogg, Mark Aylwin Thomas, explores his uncle’s own letters and writings and shares this astonishing life story of perseverance, service, and dedication. Thomas offers a personal and compelling window into the character of this remarkable man, and Hogg’s own words lend an authentic and distinctive insight into his service—training young Chinese men in their vocations in the remote confines of Northern China in Shandan. George Aylwin Hogg was part of a vision to create a unique form of industrial training on which to base the reconstruction of industry for a new post-war China. While a vignette of Aylwin’s life was portrayed in Roger Spottiswoode’s 2008 film, The Children of Huang Shi, the full picture of this remarkable life—often painted with Aylwin’s own words—shows how this young Englishman’s life was deeply interwoven in the lives of the men and people he served.

  • ISBN : 9781728352282
  • Pages : 342 pages

Download or read book Me Jane written by Jane Waller and published by Authorhouse UK. This book was released on 2020-05-22 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Me Jane, author Jane Waller presents an unusual account of childhood in 1950s England. Using first her mother's diaries and later her own, she evokes clear memories of those far-off days, so different from now. She explores the thoughts and feelings of a child living in the countryside, beginning at age four. Waller was then sent to a rather demanding boarding school in Surrey (complete with mad matron and flasher). Her recollections take her through her teenage years, including a desperate search for a boyfriend, until, at seventeen, she becomes a beatnik and heads off to study art in Oxford. Waller also tells how those in power-a subject not taught in schools-deprived Aylesbury of a beautiful Georgian house and grounds that had taken the family seven years to completely restore, but that were subsequently destroyed by a road-widening scheme, an event that broke apart the marriage of her parents. Poignant and personal, this memoir presents a story of childhood in the UK in the mid-twentieth century and the shifts that altered her and her family forever.
