Book Aircraft Motion Sensitivity to Dynamic Stability Derivatives

Download or read book Aircraft Motion Sensitivity to Dynamic Stability Derivatives written by and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A six-degree-of-freedom, nonlinear dynamic derivative sensitivity study has been conducted on a fighter/bomber and an attack-type aircraft. The dynamic derivatives investigated in the study were C sub lq, C sub mq, C sub mp, C sub mr, C sub l beta, and C sub n beta. For the cross-coupling derivatives, C sub lq was shown to have the most significant effect on the level and 3-g turning flight motion, followed by C sub nq and C sub mp with the derivative C sub mr showing little to negligible effect in the same regime. For the acceleration derivatives, C sub l beta was shown to have a significant influence on the aircraft motion. The C sub n beta derivative had little effect on the simulated motion. The analysis also documents the configuration dependency of the cross-coupling derivatives and investigates the effects of nonlinear variations in the derivatives on the aircraft motion. (Author).

Book Sensitivity of Aircraft Spinning Motion to Dynamic Cross Coupling and Acceleration Derivatives

Download or read book Sensitivity of Aircraft Spinning Motion to Dynamic Cross Coupling and Acceleration Derivatives written by R. W. Butler and published by . This book was released on 1978 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An investigation was conducted to provide an insight into the importance of dynamic cross-coupling and acceleration derivatives in the spinning motion of fighter aircraft. The basic spinning motion of two aircraft was generated with a six-degree-of-freedom motion simulation program. The dynamic cross-coupling and acceleration derivatives were input into the program both individually and simultaneously to note their effect on the time history of spinning motion. Results of the study indicate that the dynamic derivatives can produce significant effects on the aircraft spinning motion and should be considered when conducting a spin analysis. The study also indicates that the spinning motion sensitivity to the dynamic cross-coupling and acceleration derivatives investigated is configuration dependent.

Book The Use of a Multi degree of freedom Dual Balance System to Measure Cross and Cross coupling Derivatives

Download or read book The Use of a Multi degree of freedom Dual Balance System to Measure Cross and Cross coupling Derivatives written by D. R. Haberman and published by . This book was released on 1982 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The equations of motion are derived for two existing dual balance systems used at the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) to obtain measurements of aerodynamic cross and cross-coupling derivatives. The complete equations of motion presented include the effects of sting motion. Each system incorporates a dynamic cross flexure balance and a five-component static balance. The primary deflection modes of the balances were confirmed using a holographic interferometry measurement technique. Both laboratory and wind tunnel data are presented to illustrate dynamic effects. (Author).

Book Missile Motion Sensitivity to Dynamic Stability Derivatives

Download or read book Missile Motion Sensitivity to Dynamic Stability Derivatives written by T. F. Langham and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A dynamic derivative sensitivity study was conducted to demonstrate the importance of dynamic derivatives in missile motion simulation studies. Generalized bank-to-turn and yaw-to-turn missile configurations were used with a six-degree-of-freedom linearized stability program. The effects of various dynamic derivatives on missile stability were investigated in both level and turning flight for several Mach numbers and altitude conditions.

Book Equations for Store Separation Motion Simulations and Instrumented Model Data Reduction

Download or read book Equations for Store Separation Motion Simulations and Instrumented Model Data Reduction written by K. S. Keen and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mathematical equations of motion for ground simulation of the separation trajectories of stores from aircraft are developed in this document. The equations have application to both analytical and wind tunnel captive trajectory store separation testing. The equations of motion as presented here include features not previously available in AEDC analytical and wind tunnel simulations such as arbitrary aircraft maneuvers, more rigorous models of the specific pivot hardware used by some aircraft, and downrail motions with all components of kinematic acceleration (including Corlolis effects) modeled. The data reduction equations for free-falling instrumented store models are also included.
