Book Air Traffic Control Radar AFSC 303X1

Download or read book Air Traffic Control Radar AFSC 303X1 written by AIR FORCE OCCUPATIONAL MEASUREMENT CENTER RANDOLPH AFB TX. and published by . This book was released on 1987 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents the results of an Air Force occupational survey of the Air Traffic Control Radar Specialty (AFSC 303X1). Fifty-seven Percent (N=769) of the 303X1 career ladder personnel completed mob inventory booklets. Personnel were surveyed across various Major Commands, with AFCC and ATC being the largest users. Notwithstanding the exclusion of members assigned to classified units, this sample, including 3-, 5-, and 7-skill level members only, was representative in terms of TAFMS and paygrade distribution. The career ladder is composed primarily of two broad areas: technical (maintenance production element) and nontechnical (management support, staff, and training). Technical jobs within this AFSC show a high degree of similarity in the types of maintenance operations performed (i.e., aligning, troubleshooting, performance checks, etc) regardless of radar system; yet, the wide array of radar system configurations and ancillary equipment in this career ladder were the key differentiating factors among these technical jobs.

Book Air Traffic Control Radar Career Ladder AFSC 303X1 Electronics Principles Inventory EPI

Download or read book Air Traffic Control Radar Career Ladder AFSC 303X1 Electronics Principles Inventory EPI written by AIR FORCE OCCUPATIONAL MEASUREMENT CENTER RANDOLPH AFB TX. and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a preliminary report of the Electronic Principles Survey of the Air Traffic Control Radar career ladder (AFSC 303X1). It was completed by the Occupational Analysis Branch, USAF Occupational Measurement Center in February 1981. This preliminary report is intended primarily to provide an overview of electronic principles data by skill levels for immediate use by technical training school personnel. A more comprehensive display of the electronic principles data will be provided in a follow-on report to be published in a few months. The aim of the electronic principles survey program is to provide reliable data on the extent electronic fundamentals training is actually used in the performance of various Air Force jobs.

Book Air Traffic Control Radar Aircraft Control and Warning Radar and Automatic Tracking Radar Specialties AFSs 303X1 303X2 and 303X3

Download or read book Air Traffic Control Radar Aircraft Control and Warning Radar and Automatic Tracking Radar Specialties AFSs 303X1 303X2 and 303X3 written by AIR FORCE OCCUPATIONAL MEASUREMENT CENTER RANDOLPH AFB TX. and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 83 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report will examine the Air Traffic Control Radar, Aircraft Control and Warning Radar, and Automatic Tracking Radar specialties on the basis of tasks performed and the time spent on these tasks by survey respondents. Using occupational survey data along with other sources, Air Force managers can determine the most efficient way to classify and manage these manpower resources. Topics discussed in this report include: (1) development and administration of the survey instrument; (2) the job structure relationship of the career field in regards to AFSC and experience level; (3) comparisons between specialties; (4) the relative difficulty of survey tasks; and (5) job satisfaction and other related data. Specific topics discussed in the supplemental reports for each specialty include: (1) the job structure of the individual specialties and their relationship to respective skill and experience level groupings; (2) comparisons of specialty responsibilities to AFR 39-1 Specialty Descriptions; (3) CONUS versus overseas distinctions; (4) Major Command comparisons; (5) task factors in relation to the Specialty Training Standards (STS) and Plans of Instruction; and (6) job satisfaction and related background information.

Book Air Traffic Control Radar Specialty AFS 303X1

Download or read book Air Traffic Control Radar Specialty AFS 303X1 written by AIR FORCE OCCUPATIONAL MEASUREMENT CENTER RANDOLPH AFB TX. and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This occupational survey was initiated to determine the feasibility of merging three radar maintenance specialties (AFSs 303X1, 303X2, and 303X3) into a common specialty. In order to properly address this issue, personnel in all three specialties were surveyed using a common job inventory. The feasibility of merging the three specialties and other types of analyses across the three career ladders are presented in a combined report (AFPT 90-303-400, Volume I). This report concentrates primarily on the results relating to the Air Traffic Control Radar (AFS 303X1) specialty. Detailed results of the Aircraft Control and Warning Radar (AFS 303X2) and Automatic Tracking Radar (AFS 303X3) specialties are provided in two separate reports (AFPT 90-303-400, Volumes III and IV). Book Fundamentals of Ground Radar for Air Traffic Control Engineers and Technicians

Download or read book Fundamentals of Ground Radar for Air Traffic Control Engineers and Technicians written by Ronald D. Bouwman and published by SciTech Publishing. This book was released on 2009-06-30 with total page 513 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a standard reference for FAA and military air traffic control engineers and maintenance technicians focused on ground-based radar systems. With the evolution and increasing sophistication of modern radar systems, now more than ever a single-source reference is needed that contains simply understandable information on MTI, MTD, and Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon systems. There is a downside to the drive away from knowledge-based problem solving...massive increases in costs and waste inherent in the idea of lowest replaceable units. Fewer technicians are expected to manage more systems while knowing less about their equipment. This unique training and reference text will not only provide answers for day-to-day tasks, it will also help allay cost increases and waste.

This book was released on 1981 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a report of an occupational survey of the Automatic Tracking Radar (AFS 303X3) specialty, completed by the Occupational Analysis Branch, USAF Occupational Measurement Center, in February 1981. The survey was initiated at the request of the Air Force Manpower and Personnel Center Classification Branch (AFMPC/MPCRPQ) in order to determine the feasibility of merging three radar maintenance specialties (AFSs 303X1, 303X2, and 303X3) into a common specialty. In order to properly address this issue, the personnel in all three specialties were surveyed using a common job inventory. The feasibility of merging the three specialties and other types of analyses across the three career ladders is presented in a combined report (AFPT 90-303-400, Volume I). This report concentrates primarily on the results relating to the Automatic Tracking Radar (AFS 303X3) specialty. Detailed results of the Air Traffic Control Radar (AFS 303X1) and Aircraft Control and Warning Radar (AFS 303X2) specialties are provided in two separate reports (AFPT 90-303-400, Volumes II and III). As outlined in the current AFR 39-1 Specialty Descriptions, Automatic Tracking Radar personnel are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing automatic tracking systems, acquisition systems, related electronic warfare equipment, and associated identification equipment. These personnel are also responsible for operating automatic tracking systems during radar bomb scoring and ground directed bombing operations.
