Book Air Infiltration

Download or read book Air Infiltration written by CM. Hunt and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 21 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper reviews the state of the art in the measurement of ventilation and air infiltration. It considers tracer gas techniques and discusses some of the tracer gases used as well as some of the potential sources of error. It also discusses fan pressurization-evacuation procedures for measuring building tightness and compares fan and tracer measurements. It discusses the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) crack method. It also considers a number of factors influencing infiltration rates and finally reviews a few of the empirical equations that have been developed to correlate infiltration rate with wind velocity and inside-outside temperature difference.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A panel of recognized authorities comprehensively review the medical, surgical, and pathophysiologic issues relevant to lung volume reduction surgery for emphysema. Topics range from the open technique and video-assisted thoracoscopic approaches to LVRS, to anesthetic management, to perioperative and nursing care of the patient. The experts also detail the selection of candidates for LVRS, the clinical results and clinical trials in LVRS, and the effects of LVRS on survival rates.

Book A Review of European Research Into Airtightness and Air Infiltration Measurement Techniques

Download or read book A Review of European Research Into Airtightness and Air Infiltration Measurement Techniques written by MW. Liddament and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An important function of the Air Infiltration Centre, Bracknell, Berkshire, Great Britain, is to keep research organizations informed of on-going research into air infiltration in buildings. To fulfill this need, the Centre regularly undertakes a worldwide survey of current research. In this report, the results of the Centre's most recent survey, completed in 1983, are used to provide a background to present European airtightness and air infiltration measurement practices. A wide range of research activities are summarized involving the use of both pressurization and tracer gas techniques. In addition, the increasing effort being devoted to the measurement of air infiltration in nondomestic buildings is emphasized. Other topics covered include ventilation efficiency measurements and multitracer air movement studies.

Book Natural Ventilation for Infection Control in Health care Settings

Download or read book Natural Ventilation for Infection Control in Health care Settings written by Y. Chartier and published by World Health Organization. This book was released on 2009 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This guideline defines ventilation and then natural ventilation. It explores the design requirements for natural ventilation in the context of infection control, describing the basic principles of design, construction, operation and maintenance for an effective natural ventilation system to control infection in health-care settings.

Book Air Leakage Measurements by the Tracer Dilution Method A Review

Download or read book Air Leakage Measurements by the Tracer Dilution Method A Review written by PL. Lagus and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Air leakage (infiltration) represents an important part of the heating and cooling load of residential, commercial and industrial buildings. It is also an important parameter in indoor-outdoor air pollution relationships. Air leakage is difficult to quantify because it is not only a function of building tightness and configuration, but also of inside-outside temperature differences, wind speed, and of workmanship in construction. Standard formulas for calculating air leakage do exist, but they are at best rough approximations.

Book Ventilation of Buildings

Download or read book Ventilation of Buildings written by H.B. Awbi and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2004-06-02 with total page 537 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hazim Awbi's Ventilation of Buildings has become established as the definitive text on the subject. This new, thoroughly revised, edition builds on the basic principles of the original text drawing in the results of considerable new research in the field. A new chapter on natural ventilation is also added and recent developments in ventilation concepts and room air distribution are also considered. The text is intended for the practitioner in the building services industry, the architect, the postgraduate student undertaking courses or research in HVAC, building services engineering, or building environmental engineering, and the undergraduate studying building services as a major subject. Readers are assumed to be familiar with the basic principles of fluid flow and heat transfer and some of the material requires more advanced knowledge of partial differential equations which describe the turbulent flow and heat transfer processes of fluids. The book is both a presentation of the practical issues that are needed for modern ventilation system design and a survey of recent developments in the subject
