Book Airblast and Craters from Rows of Two to Twenty five Buried He Charges

Download or read book Airblast and Craters from Rows of Two to Twenty five Buried He Charges written by Luke J. Vortman and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Airblast was measured perpendicular to and off the ends of row-charge explosions and compared with airblast from single charges. It was found that Prow was approx. n(B) Psingle, where P is peak overpressure and n the number of charges. B was different for each blast parameter examined: ground-shock-induced peak overpressure, peak overpressure from venting gas, peak negative pressure, and positive and negative impulse. Values of P increased as spacing decreased. Airblast was always greater perpendicular to the row than off the end, by an amount which increased as the number of charges increased.

  • Pages : 626 pages

Download or read book Explosive Blast Injuries written by Zhengguo Wang and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-03-22 with total page 626 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a systematic summary of a series of achievements of blast injury studies in China and the latest progress in blast injury treatment including injuries caused by various explosion accidents (such as coal mine gas explosion, and chemical explosion) and terrorist bombing around the world over the past three decades. The book not only covers comprehensive introductions to the knowledge and injury theories about explosive shock waves, but also expounds the prevention and treatment of various explosion shock injuries and their complications with generalized summaries. This book not only contains a diverse range of content, but also immense practicality. It elaborates on the causes of various types of explosion and impact injuries, as well as protection and treatment measures, serving not only as an important basis and technical support for military health service support in modern warfare, but is also extremely important in providing practical value in peacetime disaster prevention, mitigation and relief for patients.

Book Ground Motion and Air Blast Measurements on Shot 6M of Diamond Ore PIFR 436

Download or read book Ground Motion and Air Blast Measurements on Shot 6M of Diamond Ore PIFR 436 written by Coye T. Vincent and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On Diamond Ore shot 6M, a 17 ton charge of nitromethane located at a depth of burial of 5.85 meters (19.2 feet) in Bear Paw clay shale, Physics International Company measured (1) shock velocity up the unstemmed hole from charge surface to the ground surface, (2) stress at three locations along two radial lines 90 degrees apart, (3) horizontal and vertical particle velocity at one location along each radial line, and (4) airblast overpressures at the ground surface. Shock velocity up the unstemmed hole was twice the predicted value. Peak stresses were lower than predictions. Difficulties were encountered in measuring particle velocity because accelerations were higher than expected. Surface-level peak overpressures were greater than predicted for a buried TNT charge and less than the Sprint in-cell measurements.

Book Airblast from Sequenced Explosions of Charges Horizontally Dispersed in Three Vertical Layers

Download or read book Airblast from Sequenced Explosions of Charges Horizontally Dispersed in Three Vertical Layers written by Luke J. Vortman and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 46 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Airblast was measured at distances of 2000 to 61,000 feet from a detonation of four million pounds of ammonium nitrate. The charge was horizontally dispersed in three vertical layers. The top layer contained 0.596 million pounds; the second, 160 feet below, contained 2.119 million pounds and was detonated 87 msec after the first; the third, 100 feet below the second, had 1.285 million pounds and was detonated 144 msec after the first. Attempts to reproduce measured ground-shock-induced peak overpressure using results of previous single, row, and array-charge explosions showed best agreement with the equivalent row-charge analogy, which produced 80 percent of measured values.
