Book Artificial Intelligence Platform For Molecular Targeted Therapy A Translational Science Approach

Download or read book Artificial Intelligence Platform For Molecular Targeted Therapy A Translational Science Approach written by Ariel Fernandez and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2021-03-12 with total page 469 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the era of big biomedical data, there are many ways in which artificial intelligence (AI) is likely to broaden the technological base of the pharmaceutical industry. Cheminformatic applications of AI involving the parsing of chemical space are already being implemented to infer compound properties and activity. By contrast, dynamic aspects of the design of drug/target interfaces have received little attention due to the inherent difficulties in dealing with physical phenomena that often do not conform to simplifying views. This book focuses precisely on dynamic drug/target interfaces and argues that the true game change in pharmaceutical discovery will come as AI is enabled to solve core problems in molecular biophysics that are intimately related to rational drug design and drug discovery. Here are a few examples to convey the flavor of our quest: How do we therapeutically impair a dysfunctional protein with unknown structure or regulation but known to be a culprit of disease? In regards to SARS-CoV-2, what is the structural impact of a dominant mutation?, how does the structure change translate into a fitness advantage?, what new therapeutic opportunity arises? How do we extend molecular dynamics simulations to realistic timescales, to capture the rare events associated with drug targeting in vivo? How do we control specificity in drug design to selectively remove side effects? This is the type of problems, directly related to the understanding of drug/target interfaces, that the book squarely addresses by leveraging a comprehensive AI-empowered approach.

The time of machines requires new forms of work and new ways of business education. This book is authored by a range of international experts with a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives hopefully bringing us closer to the responses for the questions like how may AI be used /or is a threat for PRME implementation, how will AI impact the business education world or what we should teach in business school in the time of AI (what the ‘right’ set of future skills is)? In our book, we address the following questions: 1. How will AI impact the business education world? 2. How will AI be used in business schools and management learning? 3. Is AI a threat for the successful implementation of PRME? 4. What should new learning goals be? 5. How should we create next generation learning journeys?

Book Faith in the Age of AI

Download or read book Faith in the Age of AI written by Dan Scott and published by Eleison Press. This book was released on 2023-06-20 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imagine having lived in the generation that discovered fire. Very swiftly, current scientific advances will reorder our lives just as much. Artificial Intelligence, decoding the human genome, links between mind and computer... All these things once science fiction, are now quickly—and absolutely—becoming science fact. Could machines become sentient? Is "life" a computer simulation? Does science really have a genetic blueprint for all human life? Believers and unbelievers alike are easily unnerved by such questions. Interestingly though, early writers from many faiths and fields have already addressed these kinds of issues. From Plato to St. Paul, and Laozi to C.S. Lewis, they all have much to say about our "curiouser and curiouser" new world. In Faith in the Age of AI, pastor, priest, scholar, and counselor Dan Scott invites you to learn what these hallowed ancient voices have already said about faith in the age of Artificial Intelligence.

  • ISBN : 9780521703390
  • Pages : 0 pages

Download or read book Artificial Dreams written by H. R. Ekbia and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2008-04-21 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a critique of Artificial Intelligence (AI) from the perspective of cognitive science - it seeks to examine what we have learned about human cognition from AI successes and failures. The book's goal is to separate those "AI dreams" that either have been or could be realized from those that are constructed through discourse and are unrealizable. AI research has advanced many areas that are intellectually compelling and holds great promise for advances in science, engineering, and practical systems. After the 1980s, however, the field has often struggled to deliver widely on these promises. This book breaks new ground by analyzing how some of the driving dreams of people practicing AI research become valued contributions, while others devolve into unrealized and unrealizable projects.
