Book Socio Economic Approach to Management Treatise

Download or read book Socio Economic Approach to Management Treatise written by Henri Savall and published by IAP. This book was released on 2023-05-01 with total page 1100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The result of half a century of research and experimentation in economics and management, this Treatise is intended for management practitioners. Socio-economic management (SEAM) makes the demands of humanism in professional life and sustainable economic prosperity compatible. It is illustrated with numerous cases from 2,150 companies and organizations from a wide variety of sectors and presents observed and measured results. Most of these chapters are written jointly by managers or executives of companies and organizations, and scholars or consultants involved in the pilot actions. This book is the work of 193 authors, from 16 countries and 4 continents, practitioners or academics in management sciences and management. This reflects the diversity of national and sectoral contexts of SEAM applications. Some chapters situate this concept in relation to the major currents of current thought. Each chapter is preceded by abstracts in French, English and Spanish. The prefaces, signed by Herman Aguinis and Rene Ricol, show the scope of socio-economic theory and management beyond the borders of the company. The book illustrates the international influence (48 countries) of the innovative and robust methods created and developed by the ISEOR team. Socio-economic theory constitutes a "breakthrough innovation", both in terms of its conceptual contribution and the practical methods and tools of its applications. This holistic approach touches on the different functions of the company and its multiple problems. It provides a structured change management method, focused on stimulating Human Potential and on self-financing the development of the company or organization, through the periodic recycling of hidden costs.

Book Agilidad estrat gica

Download or read book Agilidad estrat gica written by ALBERTO PLAZAS and published by Ediciones de la U. This book was released on 2023-11-23 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2015 with total page 19 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We deal with constant change, uncertainty, and instability every day. Yet many organizations still only plan for the predictable -- and then are caught unprepared for what actually happens. To avoid a potentially disastrous outcome, high-performing organizations build the capability and capacity to change and adapt quickly to shifting market conditions. They create high levels of agility, which open up new opportunities for innovation and better project outcomes. Agility is the result of recognizing the need for change, and then mustering the willingness to make it happen. Change is hard. And to thrive in an uncertain business world, organizations must create a culture that promotes responsiveness and improves outcomes. With this latest Pulse of the Profession® in-depth report, we look at organizational agility from multiple perspectives and offer examples of leading practices that are at the foundation of success. We look at how agile organizations recognize the value of experienced and well-trained program managers, and implement standardized program management practices. They are also better at change and risk management. Above all, they rely on a solid framework based on the fundamental aspects of culture, strategy, leadership, process, and people. It is the combination of all these elements that fosters their success.

Book The 6 Enablers of Business Agility

Download or read book The 6 Enablers of Business Agility written by Karim Harbott and published by Berrett-Koehler Publishers. This book was released on 2021-06-01 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Adopting the latest agile tools and practices won't be enough to respond to rapid market change. Leaders must first lay the groundwork by creating the right environment for these tools to work. Many managers struggle to install the underlying organizational operating system for business agility. High-performing agile organizations depend on the strength of six key enabling factors: leadership, culture, structure, people, governance, and ways of working. This book explains why these factors are important and how they work together to increase organizational agility. Real-world examples, stories, and tools will help leaders get realistic about the scope of changes needed in their organizations and show them how to get started. Karim Harbott does not offer a book of recipes. Instead, he focuses on mindset, principles, and general patterns. This book summarizes of the most important factors in increasing organizational agility and why they work, which leaders will need to consider in a so-called agile transformation. Because every organization is different, each will have its own route to agility and high performance. Managers will need to tackle all the areas that are crucial to creating an environment in which any chosen approach can work.

Book Real Options and Strategic Technology Venturing

Download or read book Real Options and Strategic Technology Venturing written by Caroline M. Sipp and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-11-19 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book seeks to answer “why, when and how are real options used in strategic technology venturing?” This work tests for the role of real options in decision making involving three types of firms in decreasing order of technology-dependence – technology-driven (TD) (where the profit is fully dependent on new technology creation and leveraging), technology-based (TB) (where the profit is enabled and supported by technology) and technology-neutral (TN) (where the profit is almost independent of technology). It also deals with strategic and non-strategic types of decisions driven by real options. This analysis shows that an environment presenting co-opetitive (simultaneous competition and collaboration) conditions triggers the use of real options (why), that serve to transform the position, posture and propensity of businesses to innovate and thus they co-evolve (when) into more effective and efficient forms of businesses (co-specialization) (how). The authors demonstrate that embracing risk and uncertainty can increase levels and probability of new venture formation. However, their simulation also shows that it should be adapted to the risk profile of the firm and that timing is also a factor to be considered. Although engaging the concepts of real options, this analysis does not focus on a specific investment valuation methodology, but highlights the relationship between knowledge and risk and rather addresses the management of mindsets, as moving towards a systematic conceptualization of real options represents a different paradigm in decision making.
