Book Agile Kaizen

Download or read book Agile Kaizen written by Ángel Medinilla and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-08-04 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Agile teams have been struggling with the concept of continuous improvement since the first Agile frameworks were developed, and still very little has been written about the practice of continuous improvement in Agile environments. Although team retrospectives have been prescribed and some practices have been introduced in order to implement and facilitate them, the truth is that most Agile teams are conducting dull retrospectives that end with a list of things that have been done wrong, just to repeat the same list two weeks later at the next meeting. Instead of listing hundreds of Japanese-labeled tools, this book gives you practical insights into how to spot improvement opportunities, how to plan for improvement and how to engage everyone in your company in the Kaizen process. In addition, it will also provide you with 27 proven practices and 12 bonus activities to introduce into your retrospectives in order to keep them fresh, creative and exciting, so you can promise a team that, in a year’s time, no two retrospectives will be alike. This book helps you as a manager, team leader, change agent or consultant in any type of organization to unleash the real power of Kaizen cultures – no matter what kind of organization, market, product, technology, vision, goal or size. It provides you with the background, tools and practical hints on how to engage your organization in a process of continuous quest for new and better ways of performing.

Book The Agile Factory

Download or read book The Agile Factory written by Claudio Saurin and published by Ayros editore. This book was released on 2022-12-20 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Management books and articles on the manufacturing industry have long focused on process efficiency at the expense of effectiveness. Waterfall and Lean approaches are now consolidated, but they offer a partial solution to the needs of product development in today’s vuca world. Once appropriately adapted to the development of hardware products, Agile finally makes it possible to give an organic response to the complexity of the variables involved – from customer needs to constructability and environmental impact – by putting people at the centre. The results of the iterative and incremental approach described in these pages are extraordinary in terms of speed of development, quality of the product and construction of stimulating and collaborative work environments. Creativity and the ability to generate new products are incredibly enhanced as a result. The physicality of products enabled by software is the challenge we need to face in order to become active participants in the fifth industrial revolution. “The Agile Factory represents an approach to Agile hardware development integrating Lean, Waterfall and other practices. It removes the barriers between the office and the shop floor to turn them into an elastic, creative and human craft system capable of quickly transforming ideas into valuable and successful products.”

Download or read book Great Big Agile written by Jeff Dalton and published by Apress. This book was released on 2018-12-07 with total page 329 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Big Agile leaders need an empirical, "high-trust" model that provides guidance for scaling and sustaining agility and capability throughout a modern technology organization. This book presents the Agile Performance Holarchy (APH)—a "how-ability" model that provides agile leaders and teams with an operating system to build, evaluate, and sustain great agile habits and behaviors. The APH is an organizational operating system based on a set of interdependent, self-organizing circles, or holons, that reflect the empirical, object-oriented nature of agility. As more companies seek the benefits of Agile within and beyond IT, agile leaders need to build and sustain capability while scaling agility—no easy task—and they need to succeed without introducing unnecessary process and overhead. The APH is drawn from lessons learned while observing and assessing hundreds of agile companies and teams. It is not a process or a hierarchy, but a holarchy, a series of performance circles with embedded and interdependent holons that reflect the behaviors of high-performing agile organizations. Great Big Agile provides implementation guidance in the areas of leadership, values, teaming, visioning, governing, building, supporting, and engaging within an all-agile organization. What You’ll Learn Model the behaviors of a high-performance agile organizationBenefit from lessons learned by other organizations that have succeeded with Big AgileAssess your level of agility with the Agile Performance Holarchy Apply the APH model to your business Understand the APH performance circles, holons, objectives, and actions Obtain certification for your company, organization, or agency Who This Book Is For Professionals leading, or seeking to lead, an agile organization who wish to use an innovative model to raise their organization's agile performance from one level to the next, all the way to mastery

Download or read book Kaizen Planning Implementing and Controlling written by Jorge Luis García-Alcaraz and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-10-27 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Kaizen is treated in this book in three stages: planning, implementation and control. The authors provide a questionnaire designed with activities in every stage, highlighting the benefits gained in each stage. The study has been applied to more than 400 managers and leaders in continuous improvement in Mexican maquiladoras. A univariate analysis is provided to the activities in every stage. Moreover, structural equation models associating those activities with the benefits gained are presented for a statistical validation. Such a relationship between activities and benefits helps managers to identify the most important factor affecting their benefits and financial income.
