Download or read book Adventures in Three Worlds written by Natesan Ramalingam Iyer and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2019-10-09 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a recollection of the events that happened in the author’s life and the lessons he learned. This memoir is an attempt to describe how his life began and nurtured. Apart from his personal life, it also covers significant instances from the upstream oil and gas industry. His father taught him ‘honesty’ in an era where the author realized with dismay that he can be honest, but he can’t make the world honest. He is unable to erase this sickening feeling even today. One day, all of us will get separated from each other; we will miss our ‘conversations of everything and nothing’ and the dreams that we had. Days will pass by, months, years, until this ‘contact becomes rare’ or when life comes to an end. This is certain unlike birth, which is an accident. We are born without bringing anything, and our first incident is tears. We die without taking anything. Absolutely nothing! And the sad fact is that in the interval between birth and death, we fight for what we did not bring and what we will not take. What we are looking for in this interval is recognition, popularity, and self-worth. The book covers the three worlds of the author’s life: • World 1 - Borne with shackles and the struggles his family went through. • World 2 - Sojourn with the offshore oil and gas industry. • World 3 – ‘Post-turtle’ world and renaissance of his journey through the upstream Indian oil and gas industry. Hopefully, this memoir will remind readers that a good reputation is the ‘most valuable asset’ to a family; for this, one has to toil hard with least expectations from the outside world.

Zip, Trik, and Flip decide to set off to find where the world ends. The journey takes the trio across fantastical landscapes-a lakeside city on stilts, a mysterious and magical forest, a snowy mountaintop-with countless delightful details for young readers to discover. In the face of these challenges, the three friends maintain their spirit and motivation, enjoying the journey as much as the destination, before returning to their homes again.
Download or read book Three Worlds One Voyage written by Don Jorgensen and published by . This book was released on 2020-11-02 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Three Worlds, One Voyage is the vivid, first-hand account of a small expedition cruise to Antarctica in March 2020 just as the Corona virus exploded across the globe. Don Jorgensen's fascinating, entertaining stories and photos bring you on a journey into the vast, white Antarctic peninsula to walk among penguins, sail and kayak past amazing icebergs, hungry seals and humpback whales. As the coronavirus and its devastating effects began to spread in the United States and around the world, the author highlights the challenges facing each passenger as they re-cross the violent Drake Passage and attempt to return home to a fearful, chaotic world. As port after port turns the ship away, international flight cancellations multiply, and reports of sick cruise ships increase, the voyagers are faced with questions like: - Will passengers be stranded and quarantined in Argentina? - Will the U.S. let their own citizens back into the country?- Will everyone be forced to spend another three to four weeks on board?- Will all passengers be required to sail on to Europe? The story reflects how the pandemic also forced the author to address the personal challenge of transitioning from a lifetime of non-stop work and action to a post-work "non-retirement" life of meaning and joy.
