Download or read book Cooperative Game Theory Tools in Coalitional Control Networks written by Francisco Javier Muros and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-04-24 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyzes coalitional control schemes by incorporating concepts of cooperative game theory into a distributed control framework. It considers a networked architecture where the nodes are the agents and the edges are their communication links and either the agents or the links are established as the players of cooperative games related to the cost function of the coalitional schemes. The book discusses various cooperative game theory tools that are used to measure/analyze the players’ features, impose constraints on them, provide alternative methods of game computation, detect critical players inside the control scheme, and perform system partitioning of large-scale systems, such as the Barcelona drinking water network, which is described in a case study.
Download or read book Robotics in Education written by Wilfried Lepuschitz and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-08-28 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This proceedings volume highlights the latest achievements in research and development in educational robotics, which were presented at the 8th International Conference on Robotics in Education (RiE 2017) in Sofia, Bulgaria, from April 26 to 28, 2017. The content will appeal to both researchers and educators interested in methodologies for teaching robotics that confront learners with science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) through the design, creation and programming of tangible artifacts, giving them the chance to create personally meaningful objects and address real-world societal needs. This also involves the introduction of technologies ranging from robotics controllers to virtual environments. In addition, the book presents evaluation results regarding the impact of robotics on students’ interests and competence development. The approaches discussed cover the whole educational range, from elementary school to the university level, in both formal as well as informal settings.
Download or read book State Estimation and Stabilization of Nonlinear Systems written by Abdellatif Ben Makhlouf and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-11-06 with total page 439 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the separation principle which is also known as the principle of separation of estimation and control and states that, under certain assumptions, the problem of designing an optimal feedback controller for a stochastic system can be solved by designing an optimal observer for the system's state, which feeds into an optimal deterministic controller for the system. Thus, the problem may be divided into two halves, which simplifies its design. In the context of deterministic linear systems, the first instance of this principle is that if a stable observer and stable state feedback are built for a linear time-invariant system (LTI system hereafter), then the combined observer and feedback are stable. The separation principle does not true for nonlinear systems in general. Another instance of the separation principle occurs in the context of linear stochastic systems, namely that an optimum state feedback controller intended to minimize a quadratic cost is optimal for the stochastic control problem with output measurements. The ideal solution consists of a Kalman filter and a linear-quadratic regulator when both process and observation noise are Gaussian. The term for this is linear-quadratic-Gaussian control. More generally, given acceptable conditions and when the noise is a martingale (with potential leaps), a separation principle, also known as the separation principle in stochastic control, applies when the noise is a martingale (with possible jumps).

Download or read book Community based Control of Invasive Species written by Theodore Alter and published by CSIRO PUBLISHING. This book was released on 2019-06-01 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Invasive species are among the greatest challenges to environmental sustainability and agricultural productivity in the world. One of the most promising approaches to managing invasive species is voluntary citizen stewardship. However, in order for control measures to be effective, private citizens often need to make sustained and sometimes burdensome commitments. Community-Based Control of Invasive Species is based on five years of research by leading scholars in natural resource and human behavioural sciences, which involved government and citizen groups in Australia and the United States. It examines questions including, 'how can citizens be engaged in voluntarily managing invasive species?', 'what communication strategies will ensure good motivation and coordination?' and 'how can governing bodies support citizens in their efforts?'. With chapters on institutional frameworks, changing governance, systems thinking, organisational learning, engagement, communication and behavioural change, this book will be a valuable reference for researchers and practitioners involved in natural resources management.
