The other class of manuals presumes too much on the previous knowledge and experience of the pupil for the early years of the school. This gap between the two kinds of manuals appears to be filled better by Professor Merrill's book than by any other that I have seen. It likewise is wider in its scope and covers the Whole field of Physical Geography more thoroughly than any other.
