Book excerpt: Just as everyone is a heretic to you if they do not believe exactly as you do, and as every religion (even the Baháʼí faith) makes claims which exclude it from all other religions, and as one person's trash may be another person's treasure, so each person may have their own preferred definition for Adultery, Porn and Nudity as well as their own reasons for why they participate in them and to what extent, if at all. However, when it comes to nudity, perhaps most may agree it is at least OK in privacy with their chosen life partner - if there is mutual consent. Every religion which claims to believe the Bible may have a slightly different definition for these topics. Imagine the shock/surprise, for example, of a non-Mormon who spoke with a young Mormon married couple playing Pickleball without their special underwear at a clothing-optional naturist resort! Imagine the hypocrisy of any anti-polygamy religion which insists only one wife is legitimate and all other relationships are adulterous, yet several scriptures make it very clear that if a man leaves his wife to marry a different woman, he has committed adultery and has caused anyone who marries his former wife to commit adultery. Some of these religions insist it is OK for a divorced/remarried man or woman to hold certain official church positions, but it would never be OK for any polygamist even if all but one of his former wives had died, because polygamy is allegedly a bad model - yet divorce/remarried folks are given a pass? It is simply semantics, whether you are a serial/consecutive polygamist or a simultaneous/concurrent polygamist. Adultery is no longer a crime in most countries but polygamy still is? Not if you don't want to be labeled Islamophobic. Polygyny is no longer prosecuted in several Western countries unless there is evidence of underage marriage or abuse of women or children (and perhaps abuse of federal "entitlement" funds). How much longer will you pretend that you never have and never will commit adultery, will never again view porn, or would never be nude in public?

Book Some Nudity Porn and Adultery May Be Ok

Download or read book Some Nudity Porn and Adultery May Be Ok written by Dr. Arnold David Coleman and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-11-30 with total page 399 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most men may be unaware that their struggles with porn and adultery might be related to the unrealistic biased ban on multiple wives and concubines. Men today are increasingly refusing to commit to only one woman for the rest of their life. This book may provide sufficient information and resource recommendations to empower anyone to better understand and manage their heterosexual relationships (and their children, if any) so that they will soon become non-oppressive and non-abusive, as well as honest, honorable, respectable, and trustworthy.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is a new, revisionist account of Sixties protest movements in West Germany. It challenges established narratives centring male intellectuals by foregrounding families, private lives, women, and old people. Worked from a wealth of new archival sources, the book argues that '1968' was just as much about gender conflict as it was about generational conflict--even if the former was often erased from public memory. The narrative follows three generations of Germans living in the provincial town of Bonn through the turbulent years of the late 1960s. It offers a genuine social history of the period, decentring the story of West Germany's 68 socially, geographically, and generationally. The five chapters cover the Shah of Iran's visit to Bonn and Berlin, the role of the Nazi past in framing generational differences, experiences of old people around '1968', the female dimension of the protests, and the sexual revolution. The book situates the West German case within the global and West European Sixties and engages with recent controversies on the role of female '68ers, the origins of new feminist movements, and the sexual revolution. Originally published in German in 2018 by C. H. Beck (titled Das andere Achtundsechzig: Gesellschaftsgeschichte einer Revolte, 978-3406719714), it has been translated into English by Rachel Ward.

Book The Prevalence of Pornography and its Effects on Muslim Students How can Islamic Education handle this Topic

Download or read book The Prevalence of Pornography and its Effects on Muslim Students How can Islamic Education handle this Topic written by Heena Amir and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2019-11-18 with total page 85 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2019 in the subject Theology - Islamic theology, grade: 65, Newman University, course: Islamic Education, language: English, abstract: The purpose of this study was to explore the prevalence of pornography, its effect on Muslim students, and how this can be dealt with accordingly. The mix-methods research (interview: case study and survey: numerical data) shows that both male and female view pornography regardless being aware of the prohibitions, resulting Muslims to likely engage in maladaptive behaviours such as pornography that slowly affects their spirituality, religiosity, and wellbeing. The study, therefore, suggests alternative awareness curricula and an up-to-date Islamic therapy to support Muslims to overcome the struggles of the contemporary era that welcomes explicit sexual and pornographic practice that is often too tempting to resist. So, dealing with pornography in accordance with today’s context perhaps will diminish the statistical rate of Muslim pornographic consumers. There is great importance in dealing with emerging problems such as pornography, determining its negative impact and its consequences on Muslims in their daily life. Based on this, the research investigates whether the classical texts of Islamic scholarship adequately respond to the emerging questions of the modern society with regards to pornography and whether the institute of Islamic education can more precisely tackle its impact on Muslims. In this regard, the research tries to answer the following direct questions: What are the efforts of Sunni Shari’ah scholars and teachers to make awareness of the negative implications of pornography as articulated in classical and modern Islamic scholarships? What are the implications for Muslims by watching pornography? The classical scholarship (Qur’an and Hadith) offers an opportunity to speak about sex-related topics. Whereas in the contemporary era, modern Islamic scholarships (fatwas) mostly contain copied information from classical texts based on limited solutions. Shari’ah scholars and Muslim teachers use fatwas to tackle porn addiction whilst not being productive in spreading awareness of pornography that could fit within the Islamic educational studies. Failure in providing solid Islamic pornographic rehabilitations and disfavouring to speak openly on pornography does not stop the prevalence within Muslim communities.

Download or read book Pornland written by Gail Dines and published by Beacon Press. This book was released on 2010-08-06 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Professor Gail Dines has written about and researched the porn industry for over two decades. She attends industry conferences, interviews producers and performers, and speaks to hundreds of men and women each year about their experience with porn. Students and educators describe her work as “life changing.” In Pornland—the culmination of her life’s work—Dines takes an unflinching look at porn and its affect on our lives. Astonishingly, the average age of first viewing porn is now 11.5 years for boys, and with the advent of the Internet, it’s no surprise that young people are consuming more porn than ever. But, as Dines shows, today’s porn is strikingly different from yesterday’s Playboy. As porn culture has become absorbed into pop culture, a new wave of entrepreneurs are creating porn that is even more hard-core, violent, sexist, and racist. To differentiate their products in a glutted market, producers have created profitable niche products—like teen sex, torture porn, and gonzo—in order to entice a generation of desensitized users. Going from the backstreets to Wall Street, Dines traces the extensive money trail behind this multibillion-dollar industry—one that reaps more profits than the film and music industries combined. Like Big Tobacco—with its powerful lobbying groups and sophisticated business practices—porn companies don’t simply sell products. Rather they influence legislators, partner with mainstream media, and develop new technologies like streaming video for cell phones. Proving that this assembly line of content is actually limiting our sexual freedom, Dines argues that porn’s omnipresence has become a public health concern we can no longer ignore.
