Es por ello, por lo que se adquisición se puede considerar como una fase clave del desarrollo de un sistema basado en el conocimiento (SBC). Siendo conscientes de su importancia como una etapa crucial dentro del proceso de construcción de un SI, se desarrolla una metodología de adquisición del conocimiento especialmente diseñada para aquellos casos en los que el tiempo del experto sea escaso, solventando algunos de los inconvenientes que poseen las herramientas de adquisición de conocimiento actuales. Para alcanzar este objetivo general se desarrollará: * Un método para la obtención automática de la estructura conceptual de un experto, enfrentado a un problema de clasificación, que extiende ideas provenientes del campo de la psicología. El método desarrollado presenta como características más interesantes: la libertad que otroga al experto a la hora de definir los conceptos empleados por él, los aributos que poseen esos conceptos y los valores que estos pueden tomar, así como la posibilidad de emplear el conocimiento generado durante este proceso para inferir un conjunto de reglas generales que conforman las directrices principales de su razonamiento. * Un algoritmo de aprendizaje inductivo que hace uso de la estructura conceptual adquirida directamente del experto y que adquiere el conocimiento presente en un conjunto de ejemplos, éste deberá tener en cuenta la imprecisión presente en la mente del experto. De cara a la interpretabilidad del modelo y su posible uso para adquirir más conocimiento este considerará otro tipo de características no imprecisas empleadas por el experto para describir situaciones y tenderá a obtener conclusiones generales. * Un método de validación que descubre inconsistencias en la base de reglas (adquiridas y aprendidas) y se las entrega a un módulo encargado de ofrecer alternativas al experto que solucionen esas inconsistencias. El objetivo será obtener conocimiento sobre la forma en la que el experto soluciona esos casos para ampliar la competencia del sistema.

Pero esa adquisición plantea a su vez nuevos retos educativos, culturales y también psicológicos. Este libro se ocupa de uno de esos retos: estudiar los procesos mediante los que construimos y adquirimos el conocimiento. ¿Cuál es su naturaleza psicológica y cómo se diferencia de la simple información? ¿Tienen otros animales esa capacidad de conocer o se trata de una conquista exclusiva/mente humana? ¿Cómo influyen las restricciones biológicas y la cultura en los procesos de adquisición de conocimiento? ¿Son las formas de conocer universales o dependen de la cultura? Recurriendo a investigaciones recientes en diversas áreas como psicología cognitiva, antropología, biología, paleontología, neurociencias, psicología animal o diseño instruccional, J. I. POZO sostiene que conocer es una capacidad exclusivamente humana que nos permite acceder a nuestras propias representaciones implícitas con la mediación de esos sistemas culturales de representación simbólica y, de esta forma, reconstruirlas. Conocer es mirarnos, como la pintora de la cubierta, en el espejo de nuestras representaciones implícitas, haciendo que la carne se convierta en verbo y, a través de esa nueva mirada culturalmente construida, acceder a nuevas formas de conocer el mundo y vivir en él. Todo acto de conocimiento es de algún modo un autorretrato, pero al mismo tiempo es la única forma de superar o reconstruir las restricciones que, como consecuencia de su historia natural, nos impone nuestro sistema cognitivo implícito. Más allá de esas restricciones, otro mundo mental es posible, pero sólo a través del conocimiento, entendido como una reconstrucción cultural de nuestra naturaleza cognitiva más primaria, una naturaleza que sin embargo, por fortuna o por desgracia, nunca abandonamos del todo.

In order to attain this aim I needed to convince everybody that the Ibero- American AI community had improved over the years and attained a very good level in what concerns individuals. Second, I brought my colleagues beside me so that we were able to collect su?cient excellent papers without destroying the pioneering spirit of those who ?rst inaugurated the Congress. Getting together to ?nd out what is in progress in the vast region in which Latin languages (P- tuguese and Spanish) are spoken, attracting others to exchange ideas with us, and by doing this advancing AI in general, is a risky untertaking. This book is the result, and it sets a new standard to be discussed by all of us. IBERAMIA was established in 1988 (Barcelona) by three Ibero-American AI Associations (AEPIA from Spain, SMIA from Mexico, and APPIA from Por- gal), after a ?rst meeting in Morelia (Mexico) in 1986 of SMIA and AEPIA.
