Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Let us be inspired and motivated to change our attitudes and adopt an attitude that will not only bring joy and peace in our lives, but also bring victory and enable us to become winners in all circumstances. We all have God given destinies to fulfi l and with the right attitude we can fulfi l them. This book is based on the four attitudes that Jesus Christ displayed when He was on earth. These are the attitudes that the Apostle Paul in the Book of Philippians 2:111 urges us as Christians to adopt. Practical examples which are based on daily life experiences have been used to show that it is the very things that we often take for granted that lead us to unwittingly portray ungodly attitudes that prevent us from living the types of lives we are destined by God to live. The four attitudes that we must adopt are the following: Attitude of Love Attitude of Humility Attitude of Servanthood Attitude of Obedience Always remember that what seems to be impossible with man, it is possible with God and by adopting a winning attitude of Jesus Christ we can do all things!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Adopting a UDL Attitude within Academia bridges the gap between the theory and practice of UDL (Universal Design for Learning). Including reader-friendly descriptions and case studies supplemented with international research, this book allows the reader to think and see through a UDL lens, ultimately emphasising their part in the inclusion agenda. From the outset this book shares the attitude necessary to promote UDL and inclusion across higher education and addresses some of the most common questions: Is this a scientific theory or just a new practice, and why is it important? How can I be more inclusive in my current practice? Is it sustainable and how do I ensure I’m implementing it correctly? The book will have a broad appeal and is essential reading for anyone looking to understand and implement UDL across their learning environment – be it a university or any education institution.

This book was released on 2016-11-21 with total page 525 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Decades of research have demonstrated that the parent-child dyad and the environment of the familyâ€"which includes all primary caregiversâ€"are at the foundation of children's well- being and healthy development. From birth, children are learning and rely on parents and the other caregivers in their lives to protect and care for them. The impact of parents may never be greater than during the earliest years of life, when a child's brain is rapidly developing and when nearly all of her or his experiences are created and shaped by parents and the family environment. Parents help children build and refine their knowledge and skills, charting a trajectory for their health and well-being during childhood and beyond. The experience of parenting also impacts parents themselves. For instance, parenting can enrich and give focus to parents' lives; generate stress or calm; and create any number of emotions, including feelings of happiness, sadness, fulfillment, and anger. Parenting of young children today takes place in the context of significant ongoing developments. These include: a rapidly growing body of science on early childhood, increases in funding for programs and services for families, changing demographics of the U.S. population, and greater diversity of family structure. Additionally, parenting is increasingly being shaped by technology and increased access to information about parenting. Parenting Matters identifies parenting knowledge, attitudes, and practices associated with positive developmental outcomes in children ages 0-8; universal/preventive and targeted strategies used in a variety of settings that have been effective with parents of young children and that support the identified knowledge, attitudes, and practices; and barriers to and facilitators for parents' use of practices that lead to healthy child outcomes as well as their participation in effective programs and services. This report makes recommendations directed at an array of stakeholders, for promoting the wide-scale adoption of effective programs and services for parents and on areas that warrant further research to inform policy and practice. It is meant to serve as a roadmap for the future of parenting policy, research, and practice in the United States.

Book Attitudes of Play

    Book Details:
  • Author : Gabor Csepregi
  • Publisher : McGill-Queen's Press - MQUP
  • Release : 2022-12-15
  • ISBN : 0228015030
  • Pages : 121 pages

Download or read book Attitudes of Play written by Gabor Csepregi and published by McGill-Queen's Press - MQUP. This book was released on 2022-12-15 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Play is not only a kind of activity, but also a set of attitudes. We may join a card game in a casino without assuming a play attitude; conversely we may transform a seemingly tedious action, such as a walk to the store, into a pleasant experience of spontaneous movements by adopting an attitude of play. Attitudes of Play is a comprehensive study of the persistent human tendency to bring a cheerful and good-humoured outlook to any kind of situation, including the serious and the mundane. Gabor Csepregi offers a phenomenological description of forms of playfulness, showing how, time and again, our attitudes of play redefine and shape diverse activities and experiences – from teaching, healing, or worshipping to political conflict or walking down the street. With play attitudes, we exercise our freedom to colour these scenes or give them an altogether new form, evoking in us more refined sentiments and more acute perceptions. This book seeks to distinguish play activities from attitudes of play, showing that the latter hold value not merely for their educational or other instrumental benefits but also, and perhaps most importantly, for the overall fulfillment and well-being they offer in all stages of human existence.

Book The Handbook of Attitudes

Download or read book The Handbook of Attitudes written by Dolores Albarracin and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 2014-04-04 with total page 841 pages. The editors' goal is to promote an understanding of the broader principles underlying attitudes across several disciplines. Divided into three parts: one on definitions and methods; another on the relations of attitudes with beliefs, behavior, and affect; and a final one that integrates these relations into the broader areas of cognitive processes, communication and persuasion, social influence, and applications, the handbook also features an innovative chapter on implicit versus explicit attitudes. With contributions from the top specialists, this handbook features unique collaborations between researchers, some who have never before worked together. Every writer was encouraged to work from as unbiased a perspective as possible. A "must have" for researchers in the areas of social, political, health, clinical, counseling, and consumer psychology, marketing, and communication, the handbook will also serve as an excellent reference for advanced courses on attitudes in a variety of departments.

Book Handbook of Attitudes Volume 2 Applications

Download or read book Handbook of Attitudes Volume 2 Applications written by Dolores Albarracin and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-10-10 with total page 610 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Attitudes are evaluations of people, places, things, and ideas. They help us to navigate through a complex world. They provide guidance for decisions about which products to buy, how to travel to work, or where to go on vacation. They color our perceptions of others. Carefully crafted interventions can change attitudes and behavior. Yet attitudes, beliefs, and behavior are often formed and changed in casual social exchanges. The mere perception that other people—say, rich people— favor something may be sufficient to make another person favor it. People’s own actions also influence their attitudes, such that they adjust to be more supportive of the actions. People’s belief systems even change to align with and support their preferences, which at its extreme is a form of denial for which people lack awareness. These two volumes of The Handbook of Attitudes provide authoritative, critical surveys of theory and research about attitudes, beliefs, persuasion, and behavior from key authors in these areas. This second volume covers applications to measurement, behavior prediction, and interventions in the areas of cancer, HIV, substance use, diet, and exercise, as well as in politics, intergroup relations, aggression, migrations, advertising, accounting, education, and the environment.
