Book Addresses On The Epistles Of John And Jude

Download or read book Addresses On The Epistles Of John And Jude written by H.A. Ironside and published by Solid Christian Books. This book was released on 101-01-01 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” The Epistle was written to people who already believe that Jesus is the Christ, but have never been sure of their present position or their possession of eternal life. “That ye might know.” If you have any doubt as to the person, life, and atoning death of Jesus, as to His messiahship, or His divinity, read the Gospel. But if, after having believed the message of the Gospel, you are still perplexed about the assurance of your salvation, whether you really possess eternal life or not, read the Epistle. It was written to “you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” The Epistle of John is the Epistle of fellowship. God wants His people to be in communion with Him, and John shows us the way to fellowship with God.

Book excerpt: Because the Catholic Epistles focus on orthodox faith and morals, the Fathers drew on them as a means of defense against the rising challenge of heretics and as a manual for spiritual warfare. This ACCS volume opens up a treasure house of ancient wisdom that allows these faithful witnesses to speak with eloquence and intellectual acumen to the church today.

Book Eerdmans Commentary on the Bible Epistles of John and Jude

This book was released on 2021-04-13 with total page 79 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This extract from the Eerdmans Commentary on the Bible provides Painter and McKnight’s introduction to and concise commentary on the Epistles of John and Jude. The Eerdmans Commentary on the Bible presents, in nontechnical language, the best of modern scholarship on each book of the Bible, including the Apocrypha. Reader-friendly commentary complements succinct summaries of each section of the text and will be valuable to scholars, students, and general readers. Rather than attempt a verse-by-verse analysis, these volumes work from larger sense units, highlighting the place of each passage within the overarching biblical story. Commentators focus on the genre of each text—parable, prophetic oracle, legal code, and so on—interpreting within the historical and literary context. The volumes also address major issues within each biblical book—including the range of possible interpretations—and refer readers to the best resources for further discussions.

This book was released on 2016-04-28 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The writings of the Apostle John have always had a peculiar charm for the people of the Lord, and I suppose, if for no other reason, for this, that they are particularly addressed to the family of God as such. If you want truth concerning the kingdom of God in its present aspect, during the mystery days of the kingdom, you will find it in the epistles of Peter, James, and Jude. If you desire truth concerning the Church of God, the Body of Christ, which is being formed by the Spirit during the present dispensation of grace, you find that in the writings of the Apostle Paul. But if you seek truth for the family of God-the believer looked upon as one born again into the divine family-you find that particularly in the writings of the Apostle John. I do not mean, however, that any of these sections of Scripture are confined to the subjects indicated, for while Peter treats primarily of the kingdom, he also speaks of the Church and of the family of God; while Paul treats primarily of the Church, he also speaks of the kingdom and of the family, and while John treats primarily of the family, he also has something to say about the Church and about the kingdom. But God gave a special ministry to each of these New Testament writers, as indicated.

Book The Epistles General of Peter with the Epistle of Jude

Download or read book The Epistles General of Peter with the Epistle of Jude written by G. F.C. Fronmuller and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2007-05-01 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Presented here, in paperback for the first time, is John Peter Lange's Theologischhomiletisches Bibelwerk. Intended to help preachers prepare sermons the commentary series is essentially biblical and evangelical catholic. This nineteenth-century commentary has served as a standard reference for more than a century. Many early reviewers regarded Schaff's edition with his additional material as superior to the original. It has proven to be a complete and useful commentary and continues to prove especially valuable to ministers. It contains critical annotations of the text and its translation, and a threefold commentary, exegetical, doctrinal, and homiletical. Under these three heads the text is viewed from every aspect.
