Book Power Acupressure Points for Common Ailments Self Care Guide

Download or read book Power Acupressure Points for Common Ailments Self Care Guide written by Lori M Read and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-08-29 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In westernized countries such as Canada, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Australia, Britain and the United States to name a few, some alternative therapies such as massage therapy, reflexology, osteopathic therapy, chiropractic, homeopathy and yoga, are considered complimentary therapies to mainstream health and wellness and are becoming more acceptable forms of alternative therapies. Acupressure and Acupuncture are also well-known alternative therapies and are starting to be more recognized in mainstream medicine. This comprehensive and informative guide book will give you information about what Acupressure Point Therapy is; how it assists the Qi (chi) which is the energy flowing through the meridians in our bodies, to flow with ease. Interruptions of the flow of Qi can cause many physical, emotional or mental disturbances, the common ailments we often see. By stimulating or pressing on various key points, the vital Qi energy will flow easily and this will improve internal organ function. Why does Acupressure work well to excel as preventive forms of medicine? They make us stronger so that we can avoid disease and should correct minor imbalances before they become a bigger problem. They can also help when a problem has come up such as anxiety, headache, migraine, insomnia, memory issues and many others. The main difference between acupressure and acupuncture is, in acupuncture, a minute needle is punctured through the skin into the targeted point, and in acupressure, the same points are pressed with a finger or a smooth stone. While Acupuncture is administered by a qualified Acupuncturist, Acupressure can be administered by a qualified massage practitioner, and even better, the great thing about Acupressure is that it can also be administered to oneself, with wonderful outcomes. For the purpose of this guidebook, Acupressure Points are grouped together for the various common ailments and emotional disturbances of day-to-day life. It is recommended that when you are stimulating points that can help with headaches and migraines, for example, eyes should be closed, breathe in and out and focus, in the moment, on the issue, in this case headaches or migraines. If it's anxiety that you are stimulating acupressure points for, close eyes, breathe in and out and focus your mind on the anxiety that you typically have. When locating points, feel for an indentation in the skin, and sometimes, the spot you locate may be a bit tender. Most acupressure points are noticeable once you find them! In this guidebook you will find large clear diagrams of the main Meridians of the body, and easy-to-locate diagrams of acupressure point locations. You will also find detailed step-by-step instructions on how to stimulate or press each and every acupressure point in question. You will know by the end of the guidebook that there are a number of acupressure points that can assist with common ailments.

This book was released on 2008-06-05 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Acupuncture has been practiced for more than 2500 years in the Western Pacific region and has become a global therapeutic method in recent decades. However, it was reported that acupuncturists differed by up to 25% in the acupuncture points they used, raising doubts and uncertainty regarding the efficacy and safety of acupuncture treatment, as well as causing difficulties in the fields of acupuncture research and education. Responding to this request, the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office initiated a project to reach consensus on acupuncture point locations and thus convened 11 serial meetings resulting in these guidelines. This Standard acupuncture point locations in the Western Pacific Region stipulates the methodology for locating acupuncture points on the surface of the human body, as well as the locations of 361 acupuncture points. The Standard is applicable for teaching, research, clinical service, publication, and academic exchanges involving acupuncture.

Book Acupuncture Therapy for Neurological Diseases

Download or read book Acupuncture Therapy for Neurological Diseases written by Ying Xia and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-09-08 with total page 490 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Acupuncture therapy has been practiced in China and other Asian countries for more than two thousand years. Modern clinical research has confirmed the impressive therapeutic effect of acupuncture on numerous human ailments, such as controlling pain, nausea, and vomiting. However, the biological mechanisms of acupuncture are still under debate. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the mechanism of acupuncture therapy is explained by a meridian model. According to this model, acupuncture is believed to treat the diseased organs by modulating two conditions known as Yin and Yang, which represent all the opposite principles that people find in the universe, both inside and outside the human body. Yin and Yang complement each other, and are subjected to changes between each other. The balance of Yin and Yang is thought to be maintained by Qi, an energy substance flowing constantly through the meridian, a network connecting all the organs of the body. The illness, according to this theory, is the temporary dominance of one principle over the other, owing to the blockade of the Qi from flowing through the meridian under certain circumstance. The axiom of “No stagnation, No pain” in TCM summarizes this concept. Thus, the goal of acupuncture treatment is to restore the balance of Yin and Yang conditions in the diseased organ(s). This theory has been considered to be useful to guide this ancient therapy, such as carrying out diagnosis, deciding on the principle, and selecting the acupoints.
