Layanan ini sebenarnya sudah tersedia sejak lama di Linux melalui service Samba, namun tidak semua admin windows mau mencoba konfigurasi Linux server secara manual. Setting Active Directory di Windows sebagian besar memiliki tampilan berbasis GUI, sehingga akan sangat mungkin muncul resistensi jika mereka diminta melakukan konfigurasi secara manual atau berbasis teks. Padahal konfigurasi berbasis teks tidak terlampau sulit dilakukan. Modul training ini penting bagi perusahaan yang ingin menggantikan fungsi Windows Server sebagai Domain Controller, Domain Logon & File Server. Hal ini berarti linux Server bisa menggantikan Windows Server sepenuhnya untuk urusan Active Directory, Domain Logon, Domain Controller, File Server dan DNS Server.
