Book Latin Solo Series for Accordion

Download or read book Latin Solo Series for Accordion written by Andrew D. Gordon and published by . This book was released on 2020-05-02 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The idea for this book series is to give instrumentalists the opportunity to practice solo improvisational techniques while playing along to rhythm tracks of keyboards, guitar, bass, drums/percussion in various different Latin styles including Calypso, Mambo, Salsa, Songo, Bossa, Guaracha, Samba and Latin-Blues.Memorable melodies along with more Bluesier sounding melodic lines have been created over the various chord progressions used in these various Latin styles."During Andrew's late teenage years, he had the opportunity of developing and improving his improvisational soloing skills by playing and jamming with his band mates for hours at a time during practice sessions 3 or 4 evenings a week. Now with modern technology you can practice with the play-a-long rhythm tracks developing your skills in playing the many riffs/phrases and putting them together to create a solo over the various chord progressions. The 24 grooves totalling over 200 riffs/phrases and play-a-long tracks consists of a variety of tempos and keys. Each groove has a variety of riffs to learn that are generally 4 or 8 measures in length. It would be beneficial if you could memorize these riffs so that you can experiment using different permutations of the riffs as well as being used as a starting off point for one's own improvisations. Each riff has been recorded with a rhythm track with each style having an extended play-a-long track, around 3 minutes in length, recorded without the solo part so you can practice the riffs that you have learned. Also, these musical phrases or riffs may be interchanged from one groove to another and should be learned in as many keys as possible.

Book International Accordion Favorites

Download or read book International Accordion Favorites written by BRUCE BOLLERUD and published by Mel Bay Publications. This book was released on 2015-08-27 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome to the world of international accordion music. This collection contains a sampling of ethnic folk music from Europe and the Americas and forms the foundation of a basic folk accordion repertoire. These songs are from many nations. They are crowd pleasers and they are fun to play. I have played most of these songs in the various bands I have played with over the years. These melodies have stood the test of time, so what are you waiting for? Open the book, get your accordion out and let's play some music! One word about these songs: I generally learn a song and then play it by heart-by memory as opposed to playing it by reading from a sheet of music. I believe this allows for more personal expression and interpretation which can be affected by audience response or the way I feel at the time. You'll notice that on most of the performances on the CD I didn't play repeats. Because of the limited time available on a disc we found we couldn't fit all the tunes if we played them as written. Written by Bruce Bollerud, June 2007.

Book The Accordion in the Americas

Download or read book The Accordion in the Americas written by Helena Simonett and published by University of Illinois Press. This book was released on 2012-09-28 with total page 347 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection considers the accordion and its myriad forms, from the concertina, button accordion, and piano accordion familiar in European and North American music to the exotic-sounding South American bandoneon and the sanfoninha. Capturing the instrument's spread and adaptation to many different cultures in North and South America, contributors illuminate how the accordion factored into power struggles over aesthetic values between elites and working-class people who often were members of immigrant and/or marginalized ethnic communities. Specific histories and cultural contexts discussed include the accordion in Brazil, Argentine tango, accordion traditions in Colombia, cross-border accordion culture between Mexico and Texas, Cajun and Creole identity, working-class culture near Lake Superior, the virtuoso Italian-American and Klezmer accordions, Native American dance music, and American avant-garde.

Book L Organetto Virtuoso by Maestro Roberto de Sanctis and Rosanna Luciana de Sanctis

Download or read book L Organetto Virtuoso by Maestro Roberto de Sanctis and Rosanna Luciana de Sanctis written by Maestro Roberto De Sanctis and published by . This book was released on 2020-10-10 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present book, L'ORGANETTO VIRTUOSO: achieving excellence on the Diatonic Accordion by Maestro Roberto De Sanctis exemplifies Roberto's desire and goal to provide musical opportunities acknowledging and celebrating the history, culture and achievements of L'Organetto (Diatonic Accordion) to the current and next generation of world music musicians and enthusiasts. A treasure-trove of original compositions by Maestro Roberto De Sanctis constitutes the creative content of this book. The compositions in this text are a sequel to the teaching method, THE DIATONIC ACCORDION by Roberto De Sanctis (Edizioni Musicali D.S.R. Melbourne, 2004) and highlight the requests of his students, past and present, for both simplicity and a sophisticated fluidity between melody and rhythm. In the text, L'Organetto Virtuoso: achieving excellence on the Diatonic Accordion, every note represents seconds, minutes and hours of reflection, creation and socially, culturally and historically inspired music making. His compositions alternate between melodies, genres and rhythms and capture all of life's moments; they are musical metaphors of everyday life and human existence. Dance rhythms such as fox trot, saltarello and mambo form the structural framework of Maestro Roberto De Sanctis' compositions. He experiments not only with one type of beat but excels in perfecting rhythm progression with the left hand and multiple singing melodies with the right. Many of the pieces in this book are characterized by contrasting themes, moods and tempo. Each composition speaks a distinctive language awakening in the listener or performer, images of place (Ayers Rock), time (Leprechaun Jig), and emotion (Serafina). Maestro Roberto De Sanctis' musical legacy draws upon and is inspired by different cultural memories. Examples of such compositions: Le Meridien (1990s Melbourne), Cha Cha Cha dell'Organetto (2002 Argentina), Ayers Rock (1999 Australia). Creating music is at the heart of our collective memory and nostalgia. To the reader, listener, performer, student-young or older, irrespective of nationality or creed, the composer wishes you an enjoyable musical journey in the magical world of L'Organetto Virtuoso.
